My Extraordinary Wife

Chapter 1302

Chapter 1302 Something Weighing On Her Mind

“Joe, send Lottie over,” Fae quickly instructed. “You're still young. Do your best to get along with the others in the association. If anyone dares to bully you, remember to tell me and Joseph. Understand?”

Charlotte broke into a gentle smile. “No one will bully me.”

Joseph left the ward with her, and soon, they arrived at the underground parking.

As the car headed toward the Piano Association, Charlotte hung her head low throughout the ride, seemingly not in the mood to enjoy the scenery outside the window.

Joseph could sense the change in her emotions. “What's wrong? Did Mrs. Taylor bully you? Or did she try to make things difficult for you?”

Since their unsuccessful attempt to ask Andrea to use her connections to save James, she had been mocking and ridiculing Charlotte. She had shown dissatisfaction toward the latter, whether openly or in the dark. Moreover, the people in the Piano Association, being the opportunists they had always been, had always buttered up to Andrea a lot.

She sighed under her breath. Given Joseph's temper, if he finds out, he'll definitely confront Mrs. Taylor and try to stand up for me.

The Taylor family's influence in Jadeborough was deeply-rooted. Recognizing how well the Field family had treated her, Charlotte did not want to implicate them because of her problems. Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

So, she forced out a smile and responded, “I'm fine. I'm only an insignificant member. I hardly get to see her.”

Charlotte was originally a member of the Lake City Piano Association. A while ago, when she came to Jadeborough, the Lake City Piano Association was preparing to work with Jadeborough Piano Association to host a concert.

Coincidentally, since she was coming to Jadeborough, the president of the Lake City Piano Association decided to entrust her to coordinate with the Jadeborough Piano Association.

She had thus been acting as the go-between for the two parties. Though it was not physically tiring, it was mentally exhausting for her. Almost all of the collaboration proposals and recommendations she submitted were rejected by Andrea.

Soon, they arrived outside the Piano Association. Charlotte got out of the car and waved her hand at Joseph. “Drive safely, Joseph. I'm gonna go in now.”

“Give me a call if you need anything.” Staring at Charlotte's retreating figure, Joseph somehow felt that something was weighing on her mind.

Entering the elevator, Charlotte pressed the thirteenth-floor number, the level where the Piano Association was located.

The elevator soon arrived on the thirteenth floor. As she stepped out, she spotted Lilith and another receptionist huddling together, chatting quietly.

“Oh, the International Glalie Competition is coming up. It's super tough to win an award in this international competition. Our association hasn't had a winner for three consecutive years. We got eliminated every year, especially for the music composing category. No one has ever won it. Well, composing a song does need true musical talent.”

“Yeah, yeah. Playing the piano takes skills and talent. If you don't get the first place, at least you can still get the second place. But composing a song is a difficult task. Without creative talent, it'd be better

to give up.”

“Many have signed up for the various competition categories, but no one has signed up for the music composition competition.”

“But it'll be too embarrassing if no one signs up for it. The Jadeborough Piano Association represents the entire H Nation. I can't imagine how furious Mrs. Taylor would be.”

Listening to their whispers, Charlotte instinctively felt an ominous feeling grow within her heart.

Sure enough, when she arrived at the meeting room, she found the room almost filled with people.

She quickly found a spot in the corner of the room and sat down.

Sitting in the main seat, Andrea swept her stern gaze over Charlotte, then checked the time. “We'll start the meeting in five minutes. Everyone can take a moment to review the agenda.”

Charlotte curled into herself on her seat, trying her best to minimize her presence.

It was not that she could not compose, but she did not really like the idea of showing her face in public. It was a situation that would make her feel extremely uncomfortable.

Especially since she lacked self-confidence, she felt that her standard was nothing compared to those on the international level.

That was why she didn't want to be noticed by Andrea.

She had decided to be a second fiddle and not sign up for any of the competition categories.

Around her, occasional whispers from the other members of the association could be heard.
