Chapter 66
Niamh had to admit that Castiel had been a good husband since marrying her.Text © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
Apart from the recent six months, he always got home early if he had no business engagements. Even if he did, he would never reach home later than 11:00 pm. That ensured Niamh never stayed up past 11:00 pm. Because of that, Niamh wasn't used to staying up late for work so suddenly.
She sat on an armchair in the staff lounge and pulled her coat over her body.
Quinn rested near Niamh and said, "You may have to move out from Ms. Shea's home."
"Yeah, I know." Niamh knew that much, even if Quinn didn't bring it up.
She severely affected Billie's lifestyle since living with her. That was why she refused to move in with Billie three months ago. She just never imagined she would be facing such tactics from her enemy again. Castiel called Niamh just then. Once the call connected, he said, "Have you not gone home yet?"
"Did I say I'd go home?"
"Do you seriously think Billie can protect you, or that you can handle things on your own? Come home with me at once!" Castiel barked.
Evidently, he knew what Billie and Niamh had done with the parcels.
Niamh shut her eyes. She was slightly exhausted, and it showed in her irritated tone. "Remember those people you bailed out-the ones I reported to the police three months ago? They're back to harassing me again with the same tactics. Are you going to say I'm at fault again?"
"Niamh!"
"What are you shouting for?" Niamh was also getting angry.
She no longer wished to speak with Castiel whenever she recalled he had bailed her enemies out. Why did he call her now? Because he worried about her? How ridiculous!
Castiel could tell Niamh refused to budge, so his behavior softened. "Let's
not argue now, okay? Come on. I'll have Lucian pick you up, so get dressed, okay?"
"I'm not at Billie's! I'm working overtime!"
Those words baffled Castiel. Overtime? He couldn't believe she had
worked overtime until now.
On the other end of the call, Castiel exuded a hostile energy. He hung up and snarled, "Lucian!"
It was clear from Castiel's tone that he was suppressing his wrath.
Lucian approached to say, "Mr. Jamison, the employees downstairs are still working overtime."
After all, Castiel had just returned a draft to the design department to be redrawn. It seemed the coming days would be full of suffering.
That was when Castiel said, "Find out which company she's working in at once!"
"Are you talking about Mrs. Jamison? Nobody's brave enough to hire her," Lucian answered. He could swear on it.
After all, they had already announced that anyone who hired Niamh was Castiel's enemy. Nobody in Greenburg would be stupid enough to do that.
Castiel bellowed in the next second, "She's working overtime now!"
"Pardon?" Lucian asked, wondering if he had heard the former correctly.
Either the intel they received was wrong, or something was off with Niamh. How could she be working overtime? And how could she handle working until this late? Chapter 66
Castiel exuded an air of malice just then. Indeed, it was ridiculous that Niamh was working overtime. He used to say that to her in the past, yet she was now saying it to him formally through the phone. Lucian could tell something was amiss, so he immediately spoke up. "I'll confirm who hired Mrs. Jamison right away."
