Burned Once, Never Again (Niamh and Castiel)

Chapter 65

That was because Macy's bandage was so suffocating that the skin around her eyes became inflamed. Even her pores clogged, causing her once pretty face to wither into hideousness. "Castiel's been getting off work late these days, so you should be careful," said Sienna, hinting that Macy should keep the bandages on even when asleep in case Castiel suddenly visited. Macy was slightly displeased to hear that. Most women valued their beauty, after all. It angered her to see the pimples that formed on the skin around her eyes due to the bandages. "When will they divorce?"

She and Sienna had made their tasks clear to each other. She was responsible for pretending to be crippled and blind. At the same time, she would occasionally pressure Castiel to get divorced. Meanwhile, Sienna was supposed to fuel the flames and force Niamh out of being Castiel's wife.

The women hoped Castiel would divorce Niamh after feeling disappointed in her and regretting being with her.

Yet, Macy and Sienna were surprised by what happened next. The couple didn't get divorced when the world around them had fallen into chaos. They remained together even though their relationship was impacted.

"You're free to stop pretending if you no longer want to. But if that's the case, you must do everything in your power to make Niamh blind. Then, you won't need to pretend anymore," Sienna stated.

Macy's expression eased at the mention of Niamh's corneas. "Alright, alright. I get it."

She knew Castiel was already tempted, and he just needed a little nudge from her to make it happen. With that in mind, she hoped she would succeed this time.

The hospital reeked of strong disinfectants, which nauseated Macy. She

didn't want to stay there for any longer

Sienna took in the determined look in Macy's eyes and knew she had achieved her goal. Yet, she still couldn't help but ask, "Can you tell me why you hated Niamh so much? She's been living alone since getting together with Castiel, so it's unlikely that she offended you in some way, right?"

Sienna loathed Niamh. That said, she knew Niamh, whom she regarded as her enemy, like the back of her hand.

Niamh practically showed no flaws or faults who staying by Castiel's side for years. Even if Castiel wanted to initiate a divorce, he would struggle to find a reason. How could such a faultless woman make Macy hate her so much?

Upon hearing Sienna's question, Macy's calm demeanor vanished. A cold, hostile energy radiated from her, and only hatred filled her eyes.

"I hate her so much that I want to rip her flesh apart with my bare teeth. I'd even chew on her bones!" Malice laced every word that left Macy's lips.

Anyone could tell how deep Macy's loathing for Niamh ran. However, Macy never told Sienna why she hated Niamh so much.

That was because Macy felt her alliance with Sienna was only because of their deal. Sienna only wanted Niamh and Castiel to get divorced, but Macy wanted Niamh to rot in the pits of hell.

Castiel had gone out for a meal before returning to his office. The real estate company working under him would also be up all night. As the chairman of Jamison Group, he naturally kept a close eye on the bidding status.

However, he was unaware that Niamh was also worrying about the same issue. Like him, she worked overtime in preparation for Linden Grove's bidding, which would happen in three days.

At 5:00 pm in Apollo Studios, Niamh and Quinn looked through the design

their entire team had drafted together.

"Yes, this is good and blends well with the surrouring builds, yet the design also stands out enough with its unique charm," said Quinn. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.

She was experienced since Simon's business focused on such things. So, their design was unlikely to have any issues if she approved it. "Everyone, you can get off work for now. I'll go over to Leopardbite Intl. and show the design to their CEO before we make any changes." Niamh's words relieved everyone. Then, they got up from the meeting table to get some rest.

It was too late to go home at this hour. However, Quinn had prepared a staff lounge in the office since the start, so all of them headed there. "You should rest too," Quinn said to Niamh.

Niamh nodded, feeling worn out beyond compare. She had never worked overtime like this before, so her mind was bleary from exhaustion. Chapter bo
