Burned Once, Never Again (Niamh and Castiel)

Chapter 60

Renee could tell from the many previous scandalous articles that Macy liked Castiel. That was why she didn't find it strange that Macy would show such generosity in front of Castiel. She disapproved of Macy but felt relieved by her benevolent offer. Yet, she didn't understand one thing, which she raised to Sienna. "Well, why has this news come about now?" "Because Niamh still refuses to apologize," Sienna revealed in a subduedNôvelDrama.Org is the owner.

voice.

That only angered Renee more. She preferred not to discuss Niamh. The urge to crush Niamh to dust arose in her chest whenever anyone brought up her name these days.

"Given the vile things Niamh did, it'd be fair to gouge her eyes out and give them to Macy. I can't believe she's so shameless and refuses to apologize!

Renee's rage grew with every word that she uttered.

After all, Macy had already given Niamh a chance, yet she didn't want to apologize. What on earth was Niamh up to, then?

Sienna sighed. "If she keeps this up, Macy will likely hand the evidence to the police."

"That wretched bitch!" Renee seethed.

Niamh had already embarrassed the Jamison family plenty now that things had escalated. If she were to go to jail, the family's reputation would get dragged through the mud. That thought only pissed off Renee more.

Renee ultimately called Niamh again.

This time, Niamh answered the call right away. Before she could say anything, Renee snarled, "Come home at once!"

She had to get Niamh to apologize to Macy right away, regardless of what

It took.

To Renee's surprise, Niamh, who always respected elders, replied curtly." I'm busy!"

"What do you have to be busy with? We've never asked or expected you to work a regular job after you married Into our family. Tell me how a housewife could possibly be busy"

The call ended just then, interrupting Renee's insults,

At that rate, Renee no longer carried herself with the grace of an aristocratic woman. Instead, she looked like a begrudging hag as she threw her phone to the ground. She couldn't suppress the fiery pit in her stomach. "She's being rebellious now!" "Castiel's to blame, too. He should keep Niamh under control since he refuses to get a divorce! Everything would've been fine if Niamh had just apologized to Macy!" Sienna said, fanning the flames while watching Renee's face contorted with rage. That said, Sienna knew Niamh would never apologize to Macy. It was clear that Niamh was doing it to sever her and Castiel's future ties for good.

That was when Renee called Castiel.

Castiel had just finished a meeting.

Everyone who attended the meeting felt as though they had just survived hell. Relief washed over them as they exited the conference room one by

one.

Castiel was the only person left in the massive conference room. He picked up his phone and immediately saw the push notification for a popular news article.

The Jamison family was a trending topic in Greenburg these days. It didn't matter if the family suppressed all public opinions against them. Those opinions would still surface if they stirred the slightest bit of trouble. Online comments would still flood, even if the reporters didn't write

articles about the family. The online space would soon become a hub for gossiping about the Jamison family.

At that point, Castiel received many notifications for articles on the Jamison family's daughter-in-law physically assaulting another, refusing

to apologize, and abusing her wealth to defy the law.

"Lucian!" Castiel bellowed.

Lucian was waiting outside the conference room. He hurried in once Castiel summoned him.

"Mr. Jamison." He looked pale as he greeted Castiel. It was evident that he already knew about the articles.

Castiel asked, "Have you already seen them?"

"Yes, Mr. Jamison"

"Get these news agencies blacklisted at once!" Castiel could already imagine who was behind such harsh articles and was determined to show them what true power was.

He felt those who profited off exposing others' private affairs should first see if they could afford to take such a risk.

"I've already arranged for that," replied Lucien. He had predicted this outcome, so he made the arrangements when he first saw the articles before Castiel's meeting ended.

At that moment, Castiel's phone vibrated. He had gotten a call from Jamison Manor's landline.

Castiel pinched his forehead.
