Chapter 1278
Pearl asked Esther to lie down and stayed by her side.
Even when the nurse warned them about the high risk of catching infections, Pearl insisted on staying.
"She caught the infection because of me, so I have to stay. Don't worry."
The nurse didn't try to stop her further since the head of the hospital didn't object.
Pearl then spoke with the hospital director. "Thank you for allowing Esther to have the treatment. I'll keep my promise."
The director was thankful. "That's good to hear."
Pearl gave him a note. "Here's Simon's number. Call him if you need anything."
The director smiled, took the note, and left.
After watching Esther for three days, Pearl noticed she was getting better and had fewer fevers.
One day, Pearl saw Esther's eyes open. Besides looking tired, she didn't seem sick, which made Pearl feel relieved.
"I'm feeling a lot better now," Esther said, her voice still hoarse but stronger.
"If you're improving, I'll lower the dose."
Esther frowned, remembering the bitter taste of the medicine. "I don't want any more medicine. It's too bitter, and it makes me feel sick."
"Bitter medicine is good for you." Pearl clicked her tongue. "You're just refusing it because you're feeling better. What's worse, taking the medicine or getting sick again?"
Esther thought for a moment and then nodded. "Okay, I'll keep taking it."
Pearl then asked, "Do you think the medicine is causing you any problems?"
Esther considered this, then shook her head. "No, I don't think so. I feel normal, and I'm getting healthier."
"Are you sure?"
Esther raised her eyebrows. "Yes. I think I should get out of bed. I can walk around."Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
She tried to get up but felt dizzy after lying down for so long.
Pearl caught her as she swayed. "Even if you can walk, you should take it slow."
Esther smiled. "I just wanted to show you that the medicine is working."
Pearl supported Esther as she walked around the room, relieved to see her slowly getting
used to it.
