Chapter 50
Chapter 50
Anastasia had arrived at Hork General Hospital. She asked the doctor from the emergency department and ran toward Penelope’s ward.
“Jason…”
Jason stood outside the door, conversing with the doctor.
“Mrs. Gunn is at an advanced age. If she is to have another operation at her age, we need to have a professional medical team and hire specialists. In Bricaes, specialists don’t take appointments and are expensive. Mrs. Gunn may not be able to wait.” The doctor sighed and continued to advise. “I suggest that you give up if your family does not have the means to sustain the treatments.”
Jason stood at the door, looked desolate, and stated, “Money is not a problem. Doctor.”
“It’s not a monetary problem” The doctor sighed and continued. “It’s not that easy to make an appointment with a specialist. especially without the right connections. That is beyond my limitations. Moreover, at Mrs. Gunn’s age…”
The doctor stopped in mid-sentence
The doctor added. “Do you think it’s necessary to continue with the treatment?”
Jason clenched the check-up report and answered. “I have promised to let my grandma live to a ripe old age of 100.”
The doctor sighed and advised. “That’s how it is if surgery is needed. That is the name and phone number of the specialist. It is impossible to make an appointment without personal connections. You can give that a try.”
Jason held the paper and was silent for a long time.
“How is Grandma Penelope Anastasia ran over and asked in a low voice.
Jason looked up and glanced at Anastasia
Anastasia gasped at the sight of Jason’s bloodshot eyes.
“I-Is it very serious?” Anastasia inquired in a trembling voice.
Jason answered hoarsely. “It’s unlikely Grandma can hold on, Anastasia.”
Anastasia knew the importance of Penelope to Jace
“Give me the specialist’s number Leave it to me Anastasta reached out to take the number in Jason’s hand.
“Do you know of someone? Jason asked.
Anastasia was not sure she could pull it off So, she said, “I can ask around Leave this to me. Take good care of Grandma Penelope.”
“Have you divorced Alastor yet, Anastasia?” Jason took Anastasia’s hand and asked.
Anastasia took a deep breath and looked away before she answered, “I have already said it before. I will not get a divorce.” Disappointment flashed in Jason’s eyes while he let go of Anastasia’s wrist.
“If you are going to beg for Alastor’s help to reach the specialist, then I don’t need it. I have my own ways. Jason reached out to snatch back the specialist’s phone number.
However, Anastasia clenched her fist and said, “No. I don’t need to beg for his help.”
“In truth, I really do not need to beg him. It’s just an exchange of resources,” she thought.
“Really?” Jason asked Anastasia in disbelief.
“Yes, really.” Anastasia nodded and glanced toward Penelope, deep in her sleep. She said, “Take good care of Grandma Penelope. I’ll call you if there is any news.”
“Anastasia?” Jason chased after her and shouted her name anxiously when she reached the hospital hall.
Anastasia paused in her steps and turned to look at Jason.
“Don’t look back,” Jason said and stepped forward nervously. He didn’t want Anastasia to look back.
However, Anastasia had already turned her head subconsciously.
Alastor was standing in the VIP examination area of the obstetrics and gynecology department. He had accompanied Felicia for some kind of check-up.
Felicia had basically leaned against Alastor’s body and looked pale.
Alastor was holding a thermos cup, which he handed to Felicia.
It looked extremely cozy. They had the seeming appearance of husband and wife to those who did not know the truth

Jason grabbed Anastasia’s wrist and dragged her to the safe passage. “Divorce him. All that he can give, I can give to you too, Anastasia. Jason wanted Anastasia to get a divorce.
Anastasia felt dizzy and almost lost her balance.
Anastasia was having a nosebleed and felt her head spinning wildly.
“What can you give me?” Anastasia leered and retorted ironically, “Be realistic, Jason. I’ll help you settle Grandma Penelope’s surgery and all the expenses. You can leave Hork when she gets better.”
“Anastasia, actually I’m-“Jason was nervous and wanted to explain.
