When I Met You

Chapter 9 I’m Insane To Take You Back Now

Chapter 9 I’m Insane To Take You Back Now

Susan was startled when she heard Kendra’s voice. Susan quickly moved away from Jarvis and saw

Kendra’s expression change as soon as she opened the door.

Kendra maintained a fake smile and said, “Oh? Susan is also here. I’ve not heard from you for so many

years. How have you been recently?”

Fake! How fake could she be! Susan wrung her hands tightly and looked at Kendra. There were

numerous times over these years that she wanted to confront Kendra but she didn’t. But she will

always remember how she had been sabotaged by Kendra until she could not continue in the medical

field.

Whenever she wanted to find a job in the medical field, she was met with insurmountable difficulties.

She also couldn’t hide the fact that she was pregnant and her mother’s hospital bills required a lot of

money.

So Susan borrowed a lot of money to deliver the baby but she couldn’t afford to raise her and pay for

her mother’s medical expenses. Even if she worked five jobs a day, she couldn’t even pay for the

interests on the loans.

She would have committed suicide if it wasn’t for the child.

It was at that time that she met Edward. She was serving drinks at a bar and overheard that he needed

a contract wife. So, she approached Edward to accept her.

Thereafter Tina helped her to raise her daughter and she would visit her daughter whenever she had

the time.

During that period, Susan lived an extremely depressing life. After she met Edward, she hoped that she

could drag herself out of the mud and thus she purged Kendra and Jarvis from her mind. She didn’t

even want to seek revenge but avoided them and now they were the ones who found her.

“All thanks to the graciousness of Professor Hughes, I’ve been doing very well these years.” Susan had

a slight smile but she emphasized the word ‘graciousness’. This content belongs to Nô/velDra/ma.Org .

“Graciousness?” Jarvis was puzzled and asked Susan.

Kendra smiled and answered shamelessly, “I’ve been in A city all these years and seldom return to C

city. That’s why I have not been taking care of Susan. I thought that you are not in C city since I’ve not

received any news about you for so long.”

Susan looked at Kendra and scoffed, “Thanks for Professor Hughes’ concern. Perhaps I’ve

disappointed Professor Hughes.”

“I’m sorry, please excuse me, I have to leave.” After saying this, Susan opened the door and walked

out.

When she went into the lift and was about to descend, the lift doors opened and Jarvis walked in. He

looked at Susan and said, “Why do you keep avoiding me?”

“Your mother did not accept our relationship back then. Now there is no longer anything between us.

This isn’t considered avoiding. It is to maintain a safe distance.”

As soon as Susan finished saying, the lift descended to the ground floor. Susan stepped out of the lift

but was held back by Jarvis.

“I don’t want to have any distance between us.”

Susan reached calmly into her pocket and took out a ring and waved it in front of Jarvis, “I’m married,

it’s just that I’m not used to wearing it.”

At this moment Jarvis couldn’t take it anymore and grabbed Susan’s ring and threw it aside, “Don’t

think that you can fool me with this!”

As he said, he held Susan’s hand and shouted at her, “If you want to use a ring to prove that you’re

married, then I can give you a hundred rings.”

Susan struggled, “Jarvis, let go of me!” But Jarvis held tightly to Susan and dragged her into his car

before releasing her.

At that moment, Susan wanted to open the door to look for her ring. But Jarvis had already locked the

door and stepped on the accelerator and sped off towards the nearest jewelry shop.

“Jarvis, you are insane!”

“Yes, I’m insane to want to take you back now!”
