Chapter 32
Chapter 32
What was this about being a construction worker? When had Logan switched jobs?
Michael was nonplussed but didn’t dare press for answers. He
hurriedly left the house to rent a place for Logan. Per Logan’s instructions, he arranged for a few maids to quickly clean the place after renting it.
Then, he rushed to purchase some secondhand furniture for the apartment, all of which were done according to Logan’s instructions. He also bought cooking utensils. The bottom line was that he had to ensure the apartment had all the relevant daily necessities before Logan moved in.
Michael even bought some toys. To make the act more authentic, he also bought some certificates that kindergartens issued to children. with good behavior and wrote Finnegan’s and Luna’s names on them. Then, he pasted them on the wall.
Lorraine had no idea how many things Logan was keeping from her, let alone that the apartment they were staying at tonight was a last-
minute rental.
The family of four went to the park. The scenery was great, and there were paddleboats that they could ride on the manmade lake. They went around the lake in one before having fun at the playground.
The kids became drenched in sweat after running around, but they were overjoyed. They’d never been happier.
As Finnegan and Luna rode the merry–go–round, Logan took a couple of photos of them before lamenting, “It’s only now that I believe how much children need complete families. A single–parent family can’t give them all the love they need.

“Even if I give them double the love I would give any other child, it can’t make up for the motherly love they require.

“I’ve raised them for four years, and I make it a point to spend time with them no matter how busy I am. I take them out for fun all the time, but I’ve never seen them happier. It’s all because they now have
a mother.”
He tucked his phone back into his pocket and held Lorraine’s hand. He turned to look into her eyes, making her think that she could see. love in his gaze.
This was only the second day of their marriage, so it was impossible for him to feel so deeply for her. She tried to pull her hand away, but he tightened his grip, refusing to let go. She gave in.
Logan continued, “Thank you, Raine. You’re the only young woman I’ve met who has accepted the twins unconditionally. And your genuinely treat them well. They might only be four years old, but they know very well who treats them well and who’s only faking it.”
Lorraine smiled as she thought about how she had lucked out because she could have two adorable children without having to go. through labor.
“Mr. Moore?” Suddenly, a tentative voice rang out.
Logan and Lorraine turned in the direction of the voice. It was someone Logan recognized. The man was one of Moore
Corporation’s senior executives. He held the position of deputy CEO and frequently saw Logan.
Everyone at Moore Corporation knew about Logan adopting the twins, so it was normal to run into him at a playground. The deputy CEO had only called out to Logan because he wasn’t sure whether it was him.
When the couple turned to him and he saw their clasped hands, he was taken aback. Then, he said awkwardly, “Oh, sorry, I must’ve
gotten the wrong guy. You look a lot like my CEO, sir.”
There was no way Logan would hold a woman’s hand in public. There weren’t any rumors of him being involved with anyone, let alone having an actual girlfriend. The deputy CEO knew he had to be wrong but was still amazed by how much the man before him looked like Logan. They were practically identical.
Logan smiled without saying anything. The deputy CEO left, feeling embarrassed. Once he was gone, Lorraine appraised Logan. He was calm and even teased, “Don’t look at me like that. I swear he’s got the wrong guy. How could I possibly be a CEO?”
“Well, my family thinks your demeanor isn’t like that of a construction worker. If not for my dad asking around at the construction site and verifying that you worked there, I’d probably think you’re lying too,” she said.
