Chapter 569
Noah would head out for a walk whenever he felt bored alone at home. By coincidence, he ran into Malcolm and two other boys standing outside his house. Malcolm couldn't enter the manor. When he saw Noah, he quickly said, "Come out and face me if you dare, Noah!"
Noah saw that he'd come with two other sidekicks. He could tell that this wasn't just a simple visit.
He wasn't stupid. With his sickly body, he wouldn't be able to even win against Malcolm in a one-to-one fight, much less a fight with three children.
"Are you talking to me? Why should I listen to you?" Noah asked, rolling his eyes at them.
Malcolm got even more angry and yelled, "How dare you glare at me, you feral boy?"
Noah's gaze instantly turned icy after being repeatedly called a "feral boy". He was determined to teach those brats a lesson today. "Since you want a face-off, do you dare to enter alone, Malcolm?" Malcolm figured that Noah only looked like Zachary, and he was confident that he could win the fight. He replied, "Why wouldn't I dare?"
After informing the two other boys, he then walked into Dewberry Manor. The security guard decided to let him through since Noah knew him.
As soon as he got inside, Malcolm clenched his fists and started swinging them around, aimed at Noah.
Noah evaded him and said, "We won't be able to fight freely when there are people watching here still. Let's go and fight somewhere empty!"Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.
Malcolm thought his words made sense the security guards would definitely come to Noah's aid if they were to see Malcolm beating him up.
He followed Noah toward the garden maze. As the walls of the maze were high, the two children, who were only around four or five years old, soon disappeared from sight.
Noah wasn't expecting Malcolm to be so gullible. He quickened his pace and started walking in rounds. Before long, Malcolm was completely disoriented-he could no longer see or hear Noah. "Where are you, Noah?" he yelled loudly, yet he could only hear his echo in the garden maze.
Malcolm started looking around for the exit, yet he couldn't make it out no matter how much he tried. He had completely lost his way in the garden maze.
He was rather brave initially, but he soon started to get afraid. "Help! Someone please get me out of here! Dad! Mom!" he cried.
Noah looked at the complicated
garden maze from the outside and
smirked. "It's not even that hard of a maze, yet he still can't get out. How stupid of him!"
He ignored the cries and screams from the maze and returned to his room.
As night felt, Malcolm still couldn't get out of the garden maze. It became more impossible for him to find his way out with the sky darkening and the path getting harder to see.
...
Marlene and Zayden started to get anxious when Malcolm still hadn't returned to Lane Mansion.
Only after calling the driver did they find out that Malcolm hadn't come out of Dewberry Manor ever since he'd gone in. Marlene anxiously said, "Let's go and see what's going on!"
Her eyes were red with anxiety throughout the journey. "I'll make them pay if anything happens to Malcolm!"
Even Zayden was filled with worry.
At that moment, Noah was seated
comfortably on the couch in Dewberry Manor, watching TV. He didn't know that Malcolm was freezing in the garden maze alone.
Yvette was unaware that he had been there, until the security guard informed her that Zayden and Marlene had come over.
Both of them disregarded the security guard's objections and barged into the living room. They found Yvette and Noah sitting there. Marlene searched around, yet she couldn't find Malcolm. She asked angrily, "Where did you hide my son now?"
