The Stepbrother’s Hidden Desires

Chapter 47 Is This Enough?

The sound of brakes screeching against the ground echoed in his ears as the car made a sharp turn, racing away from the girl just half a meter away, kicking up mud and water in its wake. Instinctively, the boy pulled the pale-faced girl closer, splattering mud all over David’s white down jacket.

Annabel showed no sign of stopping or apologizing. Several security guards in black uniforms behind the car were shouting and chasing with electric batons. Cody, fearful, urged, “Faster, drive faster, shake them off!”

Annabel, calm and leisurely, remarked, “Don’t worry, with such a flashy car, everyone knows it’s yours.”

Cody:”…..”

The car had long disappeared, leaving David in disarray. He squinted, watching the direction the car had gone and muttered under his breath, “Annabel, little rascal!”

As the car sped towards Sara, she thought Annabel was about to hit her and exclaimed angrily, “She did it on purpose!”

David silently accepted the tissue Sara handed him, his neck and face splattered with mud.

Seeing him not speaking, Sara grew angrier. “It’s outrageous! She’s just showing off with some rich playboy. Does she think she’s so great? Superficial and vain, absolutely lack of upbringing!”

David found these words jarring, his expression shifting before he replied, “Perhaps she didn’t mean to. There’s no need to be so harsh.”

Sara knew Annabel liked David. She only went to that playboy after being rejected by him. But seeing David defending her made Sara inexplicably angry. “You’re still defending her? Wasn’t her behavior deliberate enough just now?”

He remained tight-lipped, unsure if it was because of her or because of Annabel. After a while, he lowered his brows. “Regardless, it was her fault. Let me apologize on her behalf. She was just being stubborn. Don’t be mad.”

Seeing the coldness in his eyes and the clenched fists, Sara felt he might be angrier than her.

He held back until he parted ways with Sara before calling Annabel. Her behavior today was truly bad.

But after several attempts, she didn’t answer. She ignored his messages too, indicating she had made up her mind to ignore him.

At eight in the evening, Perez called, his voice noisy and chaotic, with occasional screams from both men and women.

“Hurry, Annabel went crazy today. Come and take her away, or who knows what will happen tonight!”

David’s heart tightened. “Where?”

Perez provided the address, and David hailed a cab straight to the location.

The bar was brightly lit, with intense music pounding against the heart. Young men and women on the dance floor were wildly shaking their bodies, the heat rising with each beat.

David immediately spotted Annabel in the middle. Her hair was intentionally pinned up, a few stray strands falling on her cheek. She wore a black tight-fitting mini dress with a suede off-shoulder design, her delicate skin exposed from her neck down to her chest. Below, a tight skirt accentuated her long, slender legs, incredibly enticing.

Her dance was seductive, fueling imaginations. Not just Cody, but many other boys nearby were gaping at her, eyes fixed on her, consciously or unconsciously wanting to get close to her. No wonder Perez called him.

As her gaze swept over, she didn’t pause when she passed him, as if she hadn’t seen him. Instead, she turned and placed her hands on Cody’s shoulders. Cody’s eyes widened, his hand sliding onto her bare back, then down her bare spine. David felt a surge of discomfort throughout his body, his heart burning in his chest.

He angrily pushed through the crowd, pulling Cody, who was dancing close to Annabel, away. He almost knocked him to the ground with his strength.

Cody was furious, but David’s expression was ferocious. Cody didn’t dare to come forward, just cursing from the sidelines.

David ignored him completely, his gaze fixed on Annabel, cold as ice.

The surrounding people also stopped, whispering from time to time, “Who’s that?”

“Her dream boy,” his roommate whispered softly.

Amy and Asha exchanged glances, whispering, “The dream boy is angry.”

This was how they referred to David in their dormitory. Only those who couldn’t have him could call him a dream boy.

Annabel straightened up, a few stray hairs dampened against her lips. She lightly brushed her flaming red lips, giving him a flirtatious glance. “I thought you wouldn’t come. ”

He didn’t say a word, draping his coat over her shoulders. She flung it off, “I’m hot!”

He remained silent, his pale face indicating he was on the verge of rage. He bent down to pick up the clothes, then put it on her shoulders again.

Amy felt her heart clench. If Annabel threw it again, she didn’t know what David would do.

Sure enough, Annabel was about to throw it again, but David’s hands clasped her clothes tightly, making her unable to move, and she shouted,”Are you crazy?”

“little rascal!”

With a slight force from his hand, Annabel was pressed against him in the next second. His other hand held the back of her head, lowering his head.

Annabel murmured, her lips sealed by him. It seemed deliberate, his hand holding the back of her head, preventing her from moving, his lips rubbing hers roughly.

Annabel winced, feeling her heart pounding so fast she was almost suffocating. Nervous and at a loss, she grabbed the sweater around his waist, her body softening against his. He seemed to feel her surrender, becoming gentle and meticulous.

Annabel felt her heart melting. He slowly released her, his hands around her shoulders, gritting his teeth as he whispered in her ear, “Is this enough?”RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only

There was a scream around them, the intense heavy metal music seeming distant to Annabel. She only felt David’s lingering breath by her ear, even his hoarse voice strangely seductive. She looked at his distinct profile and smiled slowly.

“Not enough!”

“Hmm?”

She tiptoed and kissed him firmly.

When she released him, Annabel’s lips curved, a hint of mischief in her eyes. “Now it’s enough.”

After secretly loving him for four years, today finally brought a happy ending.

***

In the morning, after the last class, David had just walked out of the teaching building when he saw Annabel trotting towards him, and a group of classmates admired, “Wow, what a pretty girlfriend, David, you’re doing great.”

The incident at the bar that night had already been broadcasted everywhere by Perez, the loudspeaker. Now, not only the classmates but also the entire dormitory knew about it.

“I told you not to gossip.”

Perez chuckled, “It’s not my fault. Blame it on the fact that the girl you’re dating is too high-profile. You’ve become a hot topic at Eastdown Uni now.”

The most lively rumor in the school was that someone stole Cody, the playboy’s girlfriend, and everyone was asking about who this David was.

David was somewhat amused but also exasperated. Actually, he had always felt like he was being fooled by Annabel. He asked her if what she said to him at the supermarket entrance that day was sincere, if she really intended to give up on him?

Annabel rolled her eyes, “Of course it was true. I’m carefree and generous. Boys who like me line up from here to the school gate. Why would I hang myself on your tree?”

As she said this, her eyes curved, smiling like a little fox. He had to be skeptical of her words.

When Annabel was in her sophomore year, she once said to him, “Even if I were given the whole world, it wouldn’t be as important to me as you are.” At that time, he just thought she wasn’t studying properly, always saying these nonsense. She couldn’t be considered his entire world now, but the gap in his heart had gradually been filled by her, real and warm.

When lying in bed at night, he would also think about the future. Having to deal with the Green Family made him feel a headache, and the future seemed very uncertain again.

David was a diligent person, with a lot of coursework. He was also helping out at several cultural communication companies where his mentor worked. He didn’t have as much time as other couples to spend together every day. Sometimes, Annabel accompanied him while he was busy. Even if she was just quietly playing with her phone on the side, he couldn’t concentrate. So, he made rule with Annabel: “Don’t disturb me when I’m busy.”

Annabel was especially understanding, “It’s okay, you do your thing, I won’t bother you.”

But what she said and what she did were two different things. Just after he finished class, she came again.

Annabel didn’t care if there were people around or not, she hugged his waist and looked up at him, acting coquettishly, “You have to have lunch with me at noon, or else I won’t eat.”

He suppressed a smile, staring at her expressionlessly, “Then starve to death.”

Annabel really let go of him, pouting unhappily, “Fine, I’ll listen to you, I’ll starve to death.”

Annabel turned and walked away, and David shouted after her, “Stop right there!” But Annabel ignored him.

Perez walked up with a sigh, “Your little rascal really knows how to play her cards right, she’s got you wrapped around her finger.”

David glared at him, “Get lost, Don’t you dare call her ‘little rascal’!”

Sharon stepped past Perez, looking somewhat disdainful as she glanced at him, “Look at David’s confession, so exciting and romantic, and then look at yours.” She imitated his rough voice, “I’ll never let you drink soup when I eat meat, I’ll never let you drink congee when I eat rice. Are we still living in the ancient times?!”

The roommates beside them bent over laughing, and Perez reached out to pull Sharon over, “Mine is being practical. I’m planning to marry you and have children in the future. I don’t have so much fluff.”

Sharon clicked her tongue, “You’re talking as if David is playing emotional games. He’s much more serious than you.”
