Chapter 1302
Chapter 1302
Everyone was eager and planned for Blake and Liam's wedding to be held next week. Blake did not
plan for a big wedding or public announcement but invited some close family from both sides to get
together for a meal.
After sorting out the wedding details and finishing dinner, Blake's parents' eyes could not hide their
fondness for Liam on their way home. Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
'At first, the blind date was set up by my parents, so the people they picked were naturally good
matches. Except for Aunt, no one else knows about my relationship with Kevin.'
Grace noticed something off with Blake. She took Blake's hand and said," Blake, I think Liam's great for
you. Just like with your uncle and me, we had an arranged marriage. At first, I wasn't really into him.
However, your uncle was consistently kind to me as we spent time together.
"As time passed, I found it's just how life is. For a woman, having a man who thinks about you in every
way and loves you is already perfect. Look at Liam. He's handsome, well-off, and treating you so well.
Some people spend their entire lives looking for someone like that."
Blake smiled and nodded in agreement. "I get it, Aunt. Don't worry, I'll be good to Liam." All these
words were just to reassure her.
Sitting in the car, Blake wrapped her arm around Hannah's and leaned on her. "Mom, I've only met
Liam a few times. Why's he so good to me? I don't understand."
Hannah said, "This goes way back. You had already met Liam before we rescued you back then.
However, due to the serious injuries you sustained, the doctors said your memory was affected, and so
you forgot about Liam."
'Is that so?' Blake thought. She asked, "Mom, can you tell me what happened between me and Liam? I
really can't remember anything."
Blake could not tell whether it was a dream or something that actually happened in reality many times.
She dreamt of a little girl, like a disheveled beggar, covered in wounds, hiding in a dark corner, eating
long-expired food. Later, a little boy with unclear features appeared to her. He gave the food in his hand
to the little girl to eat.
The little boy's voice still lingered in her ears. "Do you want to eat more? Here, take this. I'm... What's
your name?"
Blake thought about his name for a long time but was still unable to figure out who that 'little boy' really
was and where the little girl had been staying.
Back at the Harper residence, Hannah and Yael planned to stay until after Blake's wedding.
Blake returned to the office as usual. Olivia was now the Editor-in-Chief at StartReading Literary. She
had successfully merged her literary website with StartReading Literary, giving her a significant
advantage and access to the best resources. Exiting the conference room, Olivia spoke with a neutral
tone, "Congratulations! You finally get to marry Liam as you always wanted."
"Well, thank you," said Blake.
Olivia continued, "I've heard Liam has returned to be with his biological father. Remember that most of
Liam's childhood traumas stem from how his dad treated him. If the two of them ever have any
conflicts, I hope you'll see it from Liam's perspective."
Blake nodded, "Okay, I got it."
"Alright, make sure you take notes on everything discussed in the meeting and supervise all the editors
to implement it. Also, don't lose focus during work. I've noticed you zoning out a few times already. Be
sure to take care of your assistant duties," said Olivia.
