The Rejected Luna: Daddy, Where is Mommy?

Ethlyn pleaded, and Calvin let her go. She knew that Calvin didn’t want to hurt her. That was why he kept her updated with all the truth so that she wouldn’t get hurt by knowing everything from someone else or anything like that.

But unknowingly, he was still hurting her.

“Thank you.” She mumbled and looked into his eyes before speaking, “Please LEAVE.” She watched Calvin’s face pale. His mouth parted, and he gasped. This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

‘Why do you look hurt, Alpha?’ She asked in her mind. ‘I’m giving you what you want. You should be happy, right?’

She turned her face in another direction to stop reading the wrong emotions in Calvin’s eyes. He didn’t want to be here with her in the first place. Calvin grabbed his clothes and walked out of the room. And the moment he was out, Ethlyn started crying at her fate.

Calvin felt that he was nothing but a fucking mess because of his wolf, who wasn’t able to decide what exactly he wanted. Well, he couldn’t blame him entirely. He knew that he was also responsible for all the thing that was happening in his life.

Ethlyn’s plea for not to choose her when he was forced to was making him feel miserable. Earlier, he wanted to stay beside his mate; now, he wanted to stay beside Ethlyn.

He didn’t go near his mate just like Ethlyn wanted; he just couldn’t. But he realized that he would do the same with her, i. e., he would physically present near her and mentally near Ethlyn. He could sense that Ethlyn was in pain, but could he go near her and console her?

Nope. Because he was the reason behind her pain.

So, he stayed at Lemieux’s place, drowning himself in the liquor. It was something that he never did, but never did he feel this miserable in his life. He was giving himself and Keanu time to think about everything. Observing this situation, he wanted to choose Ethlyn, but at the same time, he didn’t want to spend the rest of his life questioning whether he made the right choice or not.

Calvin knew that Ethlyn didn’t want to be treated in that way. She deserved someone who would be crazy for her. AND ONLY HER.

At this moment, he didn’t want anyone else to go anywhere around her. ‘Damn it; I’m being such a dick here.’

He didn’t count how much time passed by thinking all this. He raised his head when he sensed Colton over there.

“Seriously? Are you planning to damage your kidney or liver?” he asked, not really impressed with the condition in which his brother was.

“I’m not going to drink on a regular basis. And why the hell would I do anything like that? It’s not that my situation is like dad, where the love of his was assumed dead.” Calvin scoffed, glaring at him. His anger toward his brother hadn’t settled from the previous argument, but because of Sophia, he didn’t get a chance to settle the score.

“I thought I asked you to go near Ethlyn.”

“It’s my life. I will do whatever I want, and guess what? Your concern is no more required. So, please stop it.” Calvin growled at him. He was already pissed at himself and everything that was happening in his life. On the top, Colton’s reminder of going near Ethlyn reminded him how he was asked to leave the room.

“It’s not you, but the alcohol you have consumed is talking.” Colton pointed out. “Anyway, I’m here to tell you that shift that woman out of the pack in the human world because she is not our mate.”

“Oh really? And how is that a hunter figured that now?” Calvin grinned. “Because as far as I know, humans don’t have that power to sense whether the person in front of them is their mate or not. So, tell me, Colton Ethan Haysbert, how can you say that?” Calvin questioned again, leaving his seat and trying to stand on his feet, but he was having a hard time standing on his feet.

Colton knew he was mocking him, but he ignored it, knowing that he wasn’t in his sense. “That’s because I didn’t feel anything for her. NOTHING. TOTALLY BLANK. And mate bond doesn’t work in that way. I should have felt something, but I didn’t. I can say that it’s a trap, Calvin.”

Calvin chuckled and walked toward him in a baby step, “Do you know why didn’t you feel anything toward her?” he asked and placed his hand on Colton’s shoulder for support. “That’s because you’re becoming a heartless person with each passing day. That’s because you’re a monster in human form, and that day is not far when you will become a monster for real.”

“You often snap and are ready to hurt anyone who cares or loves you. What do you think you’re?” Calvin slurred. “Hmm? A wall that always protected our other siblings or me after dad. But that’s wrong…. that’s so wrong, Colton Haysbert. The truth is that we need protection from YOU.” he said, poking his index finger in Colton’s chest.

“My mate is not going anywhere from here.” Calvin declared his decision. “It’s not my problem that you didn’t feel anything. Because I know what did I feel. And I know she is my mate, and I’m not going to leave her just because you said something to me. Artemis went against everyone, including his parents, for Caro. And I would do the same if required.”

“You will regret taking this decision, Calvin,” Colton spoke and removed Calvin’s grip from his shoulder. “But I guess it’s high time that you will learn your lesson on your own.” Saying this, he left Calvin’s hand and moved away.
