Chapter 25
Chapter 25
Fortunately, Grace was alone in the bathroom, but she could not guarantee that no one would come in later.
She wanted to by pass him and make a beeline for the door, but her attempt was cut short when Edgar snagged her wrist.
“What are you afraid of?”
Edgar forced a disingenuous grin, “I mentioned wanting a little chinwag, you slipped yesterday, no way I’m letting you off the h o o k this time.”
What’s there to talk about?
The matter between him and her was clear.
Breaking free from his grip, Grace massaged her wrist, retorting, “What’s there for me to be afraid of? I’m just flabbergasted that the big shot Mr. Fallen would corner a lady in the
restroom.”
His dark, penetrating gaze held her as Edgar lit a cigarette.
The acrid stench of the tobacco made Grace frown in disgust.
Edgar’s demeanor, shrouded in a haze of smoke, grew darker as he finally asked.
“Who is the man dining with you?”
Taken aback, Grace shot him a frosty look, sneering, “None of your blood y business.”
Ignoring his question didn’t stoke his ire, instead, Edgar

too?”
Her gaze, now laced with a hint of intrigue, met his, “Did you go out of your way to corner me out of sheer jealousy?”
Edgar was taken aback by her pointed words.
Unable to hold back, Grace burst out laughing immediately.
Edgar’s face turned beet red, his feathers clearly ruffled by her mocking gaze, “Anyway, you’re still my ex. This sort of promiscuity will tarnish the Fallen family’s reputation. I warn you, you’d best steer clear of other men!”
“Oh, Mr. Fallen, can’t find a better way to kill time, can you? As I’ve said before, who I

His face was a picture of thunder, yet he seemed at a loss for words to refute her.
Seeing him on the back foot, Grace was secretly pleased, deciding to tease him, “Does your soon-to- be-fiancee know you’ve been cornering your ex-wife in the restroom? Her reaction would be interesting, wouldn’t it? I’d kill to see her face!”
As she finished, she reached for her phone.

But her move was swiftly thwarted by Edgar, who pinned her wrist, his other hand pushing her back into the corner, leaving her no room to escape.
Grace fought back, only for him to trap her hands, forcing them over her head, pressed firmly against the wall.
Edgar’s piercing gaze was inches from her face, his breath caressing her skin, her cheeks flushed in response.
The restroom in Douglas Restaurant was also decorated in dark colors.
The dim and cozy glow wrapped the duo in an indescribable atmosphere of ambiguity.
It was almost the same as the night before in the garage, only this time the car had been replaced by a wall.
Grace’s fury was in full swing.
“You clingy jerk! Have you lost your marbles?”
Once Edgar had been as cold as ice towards her, but since their divorce, he had been pestering her.
What’s wrong with him?!
As Edgar looked at her quivering lashes, his mind was transported back to the previous night when her scarlet lips had parted in a flamboyant smile before she left. The memory tickled his heartstrings.
His gaze drifted to Grace’s soft lips, and an impulsive desire rose in him to take a bite. Edgar didn’t know what the taste would be, but he was sure it would have her hopping mad. Following his line of sight, Grace sensed trouble brewing, her heart pounding in her chest. Grace’s gaze towards him gradually morphed into a deep loathing, and she ground her teeth, “Edgar, there will come a day when you’ll be on your knees before me, paying for your past and present actions.”
Her words were as bold as brass.
“I’ll be waiting.”
Edgar grinned, clearly brushing her threat off. He didn’t think she had the guts to challenge him.
“But for now, you’re going to pay the piper for getting on my wrong side!”
With that, Edgar bent down, inching closer to her.
Watching his lips draw near, Grace secretly clenched her teeth, ready to bite him hard. It would be best if he was dripping with blood on the spot!
Just as the atmosphere between the two of them was subtle, the sound of a door handle being twisted echoed from outside.
Someone was coming in!
A wicked idea popped into her head and Grace shot Edgar a mean look.
She was about to holler, “Help, per v e r t!” but before she could utter a sound, Edgar clamped

a hand over her mouth.
The stranger outside fumbled with the lock to no avail and knocked again, calling, “Is anyone in there? May I come in?”
A familiar, soft feminine voice wafted through the door.
Both Edgar and Grace froze. To their surprise, it was Nancy.
What a coincidence!
Grace saw Edgar’s face darken and she savored the thought that he must be extremely
nervous. Têxt belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
Imagine his fiancee stumbling upon him cozying up with his ex-wife in the ladies’ room! This was going to be a popcorn moment!
Grace was dying to see how Edgar would explain it!
Apparently, Grace had glossed over the fact that she was the ‘other woman’ in this
situation. Sporting a devilish grin, she began to put up a fight, whimpering from behind his hand.
“Shut up! Do you want to die?”
Edgar growled, gripping her tighter.
Outside the door, Nancy was pressed up close, all ears. She could hear a man’s voice coming from within. It sounded eerily like Edgar’s.
If it really was Edgar, was the whimpering woman’s voice… Grace?
No! That can’t be!
She cast a glance at the signage overhead, confirming that it was indeed the ladies’ room.
There’s no way Edgar would enter the ladies’ room!
Although deep down she found it hard to swallow, she pulled out her phone and dialed up Edgar.
One second, two seconds…
Vancy decided better safe than sorry,
Suddenly, an urgent ringtone pierced the silence from within.
Realizing what this might mean, an intimate scenario of the two filled Nancy’s mind.
She started to get wound up, her expression contorting into a snarl, her knocks on the door
her expression contorting growing increasingly forceful.
“Grace, are you in there? Open the door! Come out
Considering it was a public place, Nancy didn’t want to tarnish Edgar’s reputation, so she continuously called for Grace.
The call was still connected, the ringtone echoing on and on.
But the restroom was as quiet as the grave.
Nancy’s cool headedness was all but consumed by her raging fury, the quieter it got, the more she suspected foul play inside!

Her shouts resonated throughout.
Grace, who thought she was in for some good old drama, never anticipated Nancy would only yell out her name from start to finish. With Nancy going at this rate, it won’t be long before the whole diner would know that she and Edgar were alone in the lady’ restroom.
As she was mulling this over, she glanced upwards at Edgar’s cool-as-a-cucumber expression, acting as if he was a mere bystander.
Why could he, the initiator, be so indifferent?
And she’s left here on pins and needles because of what Nancy said.
Suddenly it dawned on her, Grace shot him a look, smirking, “Seems like I shouldn’t be the one on edge here. I’m keen to see if Mr. Fallen can keep his composure when it comes to explaining this to his bride-to-be later!”
Grace said, shaking off Edgar’s restraining hand with a forceful tug. Edgar didn’t resist, so she made a beeline to unlock the door.
On the other side of the door, Nancy was still boiling over, hollering away.
“Don’t want to open up, huh? Just wait! I’m getting someone to bust this door down right now! I’m going to expose your shameless pursuit of my fiance in front of everyone!”
No sooner had Nancy finished speaking, a noise from the lock signified it was turning.
The door cracked open a smidge, Grace’s grin beamed at her.
“So it really is you!”
Nancy’s eyes were ablaze with rage, grinding her teeth, “Why didn’t you open the door just now? Who were you whispering sweet nothings to inside? Was it Edgar?”
