Chapter 182
Earlier
Asena was furious when she returned to the packhouse. “Where is my luggage?” She demanded, first going to the Luna’s chamber and not seeing them there.
Alpha Calhoun had spent the night at the Luna’s chamber and forgot to lock it. Linda gazed at her door with confusion.
“In your room.”
Asena followed her gaze, her anger boiling with it. “That isn’t my room anymore. Move it to the Luna’s chamber,” she demanded.
Linda was hesitant, especially when she was developing a special liking for Aurora.
Good enough, Alpha Calhoun had not yet made Asena’s position clear in the pack after her return as to whether she was going to be his Luna or remain his fiancée.
Linda hoped Alpha Calhoun would break things off before Asena took control of the pack with her mother.
“The Alpha has not authorized it.” She politely refused. Asena was enraged, thinking of involving her mother in the whole thing but changed her mind into exerting her authority first.
“Do you know who I am? Do you want to get fired?” Asena yelled, annoyed that Linda was not afraid of her like before, when she was even younger.
Linda maintained her stand. Since her son confessed to her that Aurora healed her with some strange powers, she figured that Aurora must be even more powerful than Asena’s mother.
“Asena, this is the room the Alpha gave you. Until he says otherwise, I am not in a position to do anything about it.”
“You are fired,” Asena growled, her anger growing, but Linda was calm, as Asena did not seem to be the woman of the house any longer.
In case she did not notice, even the call girls are no longer here. They used to be when Asena was around, but on the first day Daisy arrived, they were fired.
“Well, I will still have to wait for the Alpha to confirm it.”
Linda’s confidence annoyed Asena the most, especially when she deliberated on the fact that she could not instruct the maids directly because they only take orders from Linda.
Alpha Calhoun had put measures in place on how he wanted the domestic workers to function.
Asena gave up. “Fine. I will do it myself.”
She went to her room and moved her things to the Luna’s chamber. If not for Aurora, she would not have done that, but recalling that her mother had even called to warn her before, she had to take the bull by the horns.
It was not long before Alpha Calhoun returned, going straight to Asena’s room and being met by its emptiness.
“Where is Asena?” He asked Linda. She replied politely, “In the Luna’s chamber.”
The change in Alpha Calhoun’s expression made her realize that she did the right thing, but her victory was not shown in her facial expressions as Alpha Calhoun asked seriously.
“Why did you let her in there?”
“I didn’t. She insisted that she was going to be the Luna anyway.” Linda’s head was slightly bowed so Alpha Calhoun could not see her facial expressions.
He did not waste any more time and rushed to the Luna’s room where Asena was unpacking her clothes by herself because no maid dared to enter
that room.
“What are you doing here? Why did you remove those clothes from the closet?” He looked displeased, but his voice was soft. He never raised his voice at her.
*Cal, I’m going to be your Luna, and this would be my room.” Asena continued to unpack her things as she spoke. Cal went and stopped her.
“Asena, being my Luna does not give you the right to disrespect my mother. Move the things out.”
The color began to drain from her face. “Cal, your mom is dead.”

Alpha Cal forced a smile and stared into her eyes. “This room is special to my family. Until you are coronated, my dad would not move my late mother’s things out, so stay in your room until it’s done.” This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
The explanation calmed Asena, and she no longer had a reason to refuse, only asking. “Fine. So, when is the coronation?”

Cal thought for a while and dialed a number on his phone. “Let me find out when dad would be here.”
Asena was moving her things as Cal made the call. As she carried her things, the maids wanted to laugh but swallowed it all.
“Dad, Asena is back, and I want to set the date for her coronation. When would you be free?”
For as long as his father was alive, the coronation could not hold without him. His father felt a mix of emotions as he responded from his side of the line.
“Cal, what kind of timing is this? Max already left with his private jet but would park it at the airport. Can you pick him up? I can’t leave until he returns,” his father lied.
His only reason for not doing so was to allow Max to equally find his mate, and then he could attend both ceremonies together.
“Dad, I need you and not him,” Cal responded from the end of the line, unable to get over his beef with his kid brother.
The two never saw eye to eye when their late mother died twelve years ago.
“It’s too late for that. He’s searching for someone and decided to wait for two years. Now is the time,” his father calmly responded, but Cal was confused.
“I don’t understand.”
“You can ask him when he gets there, but please pick him up at the airport in the evening. I was about to call you when you did.”
Asena had moved out her things, so Cal locked the door and kept the key with him after ending the call. Aurora had a spare, though.
But what bad timing for Maximus’s arrival? Cal was not happy. While he worked hard to develop the pack, Max would spend all his time with their mother, causing the woman to give him the Crescent Moon Pendant when it rightly belonged to the first child, Cal.
When he reached Asena’s room, she asked eagerly. “Have you decided on the date yet?”
Cal was saddened to disappoint her but could not keep her in the dark. “Dad can’t make it now. We have to wait a while.”
He left out the part of his brother’s coming, but at this point, Asena felt that everything was being delayed because of Aurora.
With her mother’s powers, she knew that Aurora would be out of their lives in no time.
Alpha Cal turned to leave when she ran up to him. “Cal, stay with me.”
Her clinginess was a turn–on for him before but did not feel so anymore. “I will, but I have some unfinished work in the office. Make yourself comfortable.”
Asena felt as if she was losing her man and tried anything just to keep him by her side. “Should I order food?”
“No,” Cal said, before thinking she might be hungry. “I mean yes. You can order for yourself.”
“What about you?” She asked worriedly, but he forced a smile.
“Don’t worry about me. I’m fine.”
Cal left Asena and reaching the office, he first went to that of Aurora, disappointed to not find her there, though he knew exactly where she was.
The news about Max’s return made him uncomfortable, and he wanted to warn her, but reaching Rene’s house, he did not know the excuse to give for coming to see Aurora and stood frozen behind the door.
Somehow, the door opened, and she bumped into him. “Where have you been? I’ve been looking for you everywhere,” Alpha Calhoun said, instantly pulling her into his embrace.
