Chapter 73
Chapter 73
“Check again, Elgin demanded, “Be stealthy about it and don’t blow your cover.”
With his orders given, Ranen was quick to respond, “Got it, I’m on it right away.”
Elgin waved his hand dismissively and leaned back in his chair, eyes closed, refueling himself.
Suddenly, the phone on the desk started ringing.
He picked up the receiver “What’s up?”
“Mr. Ramirez, Walden from the Sullivan Group is here to see you, he’s at the front desk right now.”
Walden?
“Send him in.”
‘OK, Mr. Ramirez”
Five minutes later, Walden came in.
Dressed in casual sportswear, hands pocketed, Walden looked as chill as a cucumber. He looked like someone who had nothing to do with a loser whose company had been taken over
Elgin sneered, “You’re a complete loser but still manage to look so nonchalant.”
“From a business standpoint, I lost to you, got the boot from the board, and was kicked out of the company. Now, I’ve got no choice but to head abroad for evasion, and take this opportunity to do something I’m interested in
Elgin shot back, “And from what angle did you beat me?”
“Relationships
Elgin twitched his mouth with more coldness
“You’ll never have Letitia, Walden said, “She won’t be yours because you’ve never truly respected her from the beginning”
Elgin slammed his palm down on the table, ‘She’s my wife!
“The man who has her doesn’t have her heart. Besides. Elgin, it’s first come, first served. I knew Letitia way before she had anything to do with you
“Walden, she’s my wife now, and you have nothing to do with her!”
Walden chuckled, I can win her heart back
“You wish, Elgin glanced at the clock, “In two hours, you’ll be on a plane out of here.”
A guy leaving AquaCity still has the nerve to say he’ll win Letitia back? What a joke!
“Hmm, the day I come back to the country… Walden said, “will be the day I win her back.”
He was off to uncover the truth about Marcel’s death and meet the Ramirez family’s younger son.
The day the truth came out would be the day Letitia’s free.
As for Walden, this is far more important than sticking around at the Sullivan Group and taking over the family business
The last time his father sent him abroad, he let Letitia down and wasn’t there for her.
This time… he was going to make it right!
Elgin was radiating a fierce vibe, “Letitia’s mine, alive or dead”
“I bet you have the means to make her stay with you for life, Walden said, “But Elgin, if you really want to keep someone, you can’t just rely on tricks but your heart.”

Walden smiled faintly, stood up, and left
As Walden closed the door, he heard the sound of things being thrown inside.
Elgin was furious, sweeping everything off the desk onto the floor.
Heart?
Well, Walden had a sincere heart!
But Latitis wasn’t worthy of Elgin’s heart!
Che was the enemy’s daughter, carrying another man’s child!
He’d abort that child when the time was right!
Even if Letitia wanted to die then, he’d snatch her back from the death himself.
He wouldn’t let her die, so she couldn’t pass away!
Meanwhile, by the window of the Jewelry Department, Letitia silently stood, her gaze following Walden as he moved away.
She didn’t dare to see him off and was afraid to be found out by Elgin.
All she could do was watch him, from a distance
The Ramimz Group had taken over Sunbeam Gems. Walden had been ousted by shareholders and directors, so his father sent him abroad to wait for the storm to pass
Officially, Walden said he was going on a trip to clear his head.
Only Letitia knew he was out to uncover the truth for her
“Ill wait for your return, wait for you.” Letitia whispered to herself, ‘I believe, the day the truth comes out isn’t far off”
Finding the truth was what kept Letitia going.
Vidonia walked over and asked, “What are you looking at, Letitia?”
“Nothing,” she shook her head, “Just spacing out.”
“There’s a celebration tonight, wanna go have some fun? You’re the hero of Ramirez Romantica”
Letitia hesitated, but Vidonia was already urging her, “Come on, it’ll be just us department folks. Don’t sweat about Elgin. Samson will handle it’
“Okay,” she nodded and smiled, “Everyone’s been busting their butts to get Ramirez Romantica launched and selling.”
“You’re the one who’s been busy as the lead designer while carrying a little baby. Eat up tonight, don’t shortchange my godson.”
“How do you know it’s a boy?”
Vidonia scoffed, “It’s all the same. My word just slipped out.”
Letitia crinkled with a smile, “You’ve always been fond of kids… Why not have one yourself?”
Vidonia almost choked on her own spit.
“I reckon.” Letitia leaned in and whispered, “Mr. Stewart’s a good choice.”
“Are you kidding me! Vidonia nearly jumped, all riled up
Her outburst caught the attention of the colleagues around, and Letitia quickly calmed her down, Take it easy.”
“Don’t go playing matchmaker. Samson is just my bro!”
Letitia blinked innocently, “I wasn’t playing matchmaker, but just praise Mr. Stewart Maybe you’re the one reading too much into it?”
“Fine, now you’re teasing me.
“Nope, I’m serious. Letitia replied, “Think about it, Mr. Stewart’s young, successful, handsome, funny, and rich. Don’t miss out on a diamond bachelor like that.”
“Pfft, he’s a heartbreaker and has probably left a trail of broken hearts.”
Vidonia always thought Samson was such a smooth talker, all slick and sleazy. Since he loved hitting up hotels, she pegged him as a total player.
She kept those kinds of guys at arm’s length!
“You might have got it twisted, Letitia said, “Mr. Stewart, he…”
“Cut it out, don’t make excuses for him. There’s no way I’m getting involved with that guy! Dress you up tonight, and we’ll snap some gorgeous photos together!”
“Okay.”
To make sure everyone could make it to the celebration dinner, Samson pulled some strings to knock off work early.
Such a move triggered the envy of other departments.
Vidonia dragged Leuta to the mall to get her some new threads.
“Don’t sweat the cost, Vidonia said, ‘consider it a loan from me. Pay me back when your bonus comes through… With Ramirez Romantica selling like hotcakes, you’ll be rolling in it next month!”
in the afternoon.
A Rolls Royce was parked by the curb, the window halfway down, with Elgin holding a cigarette between his fingertips. His profile was almost flawless.
“Mr. Ramirez, please don’t wait, Ranen said from outside, “Mrs. Ramirez is heading to a celebration dinner tonight, so…”
He pursed his lips and flicked the cigarette butt away.
In his private time, suddenly missing Letitia’s company, he found himself oddly out of sorts.
