Chapter 417
Chapter 417
Chad stared at his envious sister, heaving a deep sigh. Recently, he had been up to his neck in work.
No one dared to introduce a girl to him.
Soon enough, a subordinate knocked on his door and entered.
Chad was reminded of a forgotten piece of business. He pointed at Molly’s face. “You stay put in the
office. Don’t go anywhere until I get back. Got it?”
Molly pouted. She had become accustomed to being reprimanded.
Before Chad left, he shot her an unconvinced glance. Molly sat obediently in the corner of the sofa,
seemingly well-behaved. Chad was still worried. “Donnie, go get the coroner from next door to keep
Molly company.”
Donnie replied, “Chad, Molly is scared of the coroner.”
“I know. That’s exactly why I want the coroner to come.”
Not long after, Molly met a very “gentle” female coroner.
At the Irvin family.
After Mia returned, Madison, who had never cared for a pregnant woman, was facing a challenge.
In the Cedillo family, dedicated nutritionists had been taking care of Mia since her pregnancy. Now she
was back home. Madison wasn’t as attentive as those nutritionists. The housemaid’s cooking was quite
ordinary, tasty but not exactly pregnancy-friendly.
Moreover, Mia wasn’t just any girl. She was carrying Andre’s baby. And she was Andre’s precious
treasure.
Madison was afraid that if Mia’s diet was mishandled, Andre would be displeased.
Soon, Andre drove back. Mia was strolling back and forth at the entrance. He stopped the car and
approached her with a bag. “Where’s your mom?”
Mia looked at her husband. She was about to say “I was waiting for you”, but changed her mind and
said, “Mom is inside, worrying about my meals. I came out to get some fresh air.”
Andre understood. Mia was upset that he hadn’t allowed her to go out and had neglected her.
He gently rubbed his wife’s head, and looked at her chubby face which was even cuter when she was
mad. “I won’t make the same mistake again. You’ll always be my top priority, okay?”
“Humph. You always say that.” Mia felt a bit wronged.
Andre hugged his little wife at the entrance. “You’ve always been my top priority. It’s just that I was
more concerned about your safety than your feelings.”
Had it not been for his nephew pointing it out, he wouldn’t have realized that he had overlooked his little
wife’s feelings. After all, she was still a pregnant woman.
Mia’s heart softened when her husband apologized for the first time. She had planned to give him the
cold shoulder for a few days, but when she saw his face, heard his voice, and smelled his scent, Mia
just forgot everything.
“I’ve brought two sets of pajamas, four casual dresses, and four sets of undergarments for changing.
Go home and check if you need anything else. I’ll bring them for you after work tomorrow.”
Andre opened the bag for Mia to see. It even contained his change of clothes. Knowing that her
husband would stay with her every day, Mia felt much better. “I want to stay at my house for a few
days,” Mia said.
Andre complied with her wish. “Okay, if you get bored, you can have Molly or Leo come to keep you
company.”
“It’s weird that you’re willing to let the three of us hang out together.”
Andre reminded her, “I just said ‘or’. Only one of them can show up. Not both at the same time.”
Andre’s pampered wife was speechless.
Back home, Madison was discussing a pregnancy diet with the maid, while Aaron straightforwardly
suggested, “We can hire a couple of nutritionists. It won’t cost much. Why make it so hard?”
Madison said, “The nutritionists wouldn’t be needed for long. You know your daughter’s temperament.
She’ll probably stay at home for a week at most. Soon enough, she’ll be clinging to Andre, crying and
begging him to take her back to the Cedillo family. Then we’ll have to lay off the nutritionists.”
Mia, who was accused by her mother of crying and begging to follow her husband, glanced at the
gentle smiling man next to her. She emphasized, “I’m not like that! Mom’s lying! I’m not that clingy!”
Andre nodded with a smile. “Yeah, you’re not. She’s lying.”
But his expression clearly showed disbelief!
In the living room, Aaron added, “My daughter won’t just stay for a few days and leave. She’ll stay
home for at least a month or two.”
Madison immediately exposed her daughter’s true nature. “Andre just went home to get her clothes.
He’s been gone for less than ten minutes, but she’s been waiting at the front door for Andre. She
claimed to go for a walk, but she sent me back home and stood at the door for about thirty or fourty
minutes, almost turning into a stone statue waiting for her husband. You think she’s going to stay home
for a month or two? You really overestimate your daughter.”All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
Mia, once again embarrassed by her mother who exposed all her pretence, turned to look at the man
next to her. His smile brightened her world. But right now, she didn’t want him to be so happy, and so
blessed. “I’m not like that! Mom’s lying! I wasn’t waiting for you!”
Andre’s smile deepened, and then he nodded. “Yeah, you weren’t waiting for me. You were just taking
a walk.”
Mia knew from her husband’s expression that he didn’t believe a word of her denial!
“I, I’m going to have a word with mom.”
Mia suddenly burst in, interrupting the Irvin couple’s argument.
Madison, not realizing that her son-in-law was behind her daughter, asked cheekily, “Weren’t you
outside waiting for Andre? How come you’re back without him?”
Mia said, “Mom, are you really gonna keep embarrassing me?”
After saying that, Andre walked in, laughing.
“Aaron, Madison, I’m here.”
Mia pulled her mother’s hand, and with a strength unbeknownst to a pregnant woman, dragged her
mother outside.
In the front yard, Madison looked at her flustered, blushing daughter, consoling her, “Okay, okay, I won’t
say things like that anymore.”
“Mom, that’s so embarrassing. I haven’t even argued with my husband yet. Thanks to your words, I
can’t even get mad.”
“You didn’t make a sound. How was I supposed to know you two were eavesdropping at the door?”
Mia replied, “If I said something, it would make me seem guilty. My husband is so smart. The moment I
felt guilty, he would know that what you said is true.”
Madison couldn’t bear to remind her daughter, “Even if you’re not guilty, Andre is so smart anyway.
How could he not know what you’re scheming, what you’re mulling over, what you’re hiding?”
Mia sighed.
In the living room, Andre’s phone suddenly received a pregnancy diet plan from Naomi. It included four
meals a day. Even the meal times and when to supplement nutrients were listed out.
With this diet plan, Madison and the servants had a clear direction. It really solved all problems.
