Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance

Chapter 394

Chapter 394

Mia paused in her tracks, ready to chase after her husband once again, but halted by the words of her

friend.

“You knew him when you were a kid? You mean, like he appeared in your childhood memories, or are

you suspecting that he was involved in your abduction years ago?” Mia, with her clear mind and years

of friendship with Molly, immediately caught on to what her friend was implying.

“You think he’s the one who kidnapped you sixteen years ago!” Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

The bond of friendship they shared over the years wasn’t formed in vain. Molly nodded, indicating that

she had also told Chad about her suspicions. Chad was a police officer. Without solid evidence, her

deductions were merely speculations. She was afraid to hinder her brother’s investigation and his

possible promotion. Besides, Chad didn’t seem to take her concerns seriously, probably thinking she

was overreacting.

“Mia, I have this strong feeling that I can’t let him go the moment I saw him. Especially when I caught

him sneakily peeping into my brother’s hospital room, and then lying about looking for a woman named

Smith. There’s no one by that name in the whole ward.”

Mia took Molly by the hand and sat her down on a chair. “How are you sure he’s the one from your

childhood?”

“He has a tattoo on his hand. It’s in the shape of a leaf.”

A leaf... could it be the Waltons?

Mia’s eyes flickered as she quickly searched her memory. She had been at the hospital a couple of

days ago!

Frowning, Mia recalled her visit to the hospital to see Chad. She had run into Holly and her driver, Tom.

“Is the man you saw wearing a black coat, well-built, with a crew cut, and an olive skin tone?” Mia’s

memory of Tom was a bit sketchy, as she hadn’t paid much attention to him at the time.

Molly looked shocked as she nodded, wondering how Mia knew. Thinking Mia might have seen the

tattoo on Finley’s hand, she lifted her own wrist and drew a circle on it. “It’s tattooed here, in deep

green.”

Mia shook her head, doubtful of Tom’s identity. She wasn’t aware of any tattoo on Tom’s hand as she

had been advised by her husband. Because of her pregnancy, she had to keep away from anyone with

the surname Walton. She had seen him for a few times, but it was from a distance.

Molly was agitated. “How do you know this man?”

Mia placed a hand on her belly. Her brows slightly furrowed. Since she hadn’t seen the man personally,

all these were mere conjectures. “Molly, do you remember anyone named Finley or Tom from your

past?”

Molly shook her head after listening. “I don’t think so. Who are they?”

Mia was at a loss. She didn’t know how to explain what she knew to her friend. “Did you see a pregnant

woman with him when you saw him?”

Molly shook her head. “No, it was just him.”

Mia frowned, and her mind was racing with thoughts.

Why did Tom sneak upstairs to peep at Chad? His actions were likely driven by Finley. But what

connection did Finley have with Chad? Was Chad’s accident related to him?

If it wasn’t because of Chad, could it be connected with Molly? If so, why would the Waltons be

investigating Molly? Could it be related to the kidnapping from sixteen years ago?

Chad was investigating the case from sixteen years ago when he was attacked, and Molly was the one

who was kidnapped sixteen years ago.

“Molly, we have to talk to Andre about this.” Mia’s mind was in a mess, so she had no choice but to turn

to him for help.

Molly hesitated, asking, “Would he be too busy? All of this is just my speculation, and I’m not

completely sure. I don’t want to alarm Andre. What if he takes it seriously, invests efforts into

investigating, but in the end, finds out I was wrong? Wouldn’t that be a waste of time? Let’s wait until

we’re certain before we go to Andre, okay?”

Deep down, she was also a little afraid of Andre. Molly knew that he doted on her when they were

younger. But Andre had spent so many years in the business world. His stern demeanor made her

nervous whenever she wanted to discuss serious matters with him.

Everyone has someone they’re afraid of; seeing that person would inevitably induce fear.

Mia, being the more pragmatic one, said, “We won’t get anywhere if we try to investigate this ourselves.

Since it’s a speculation, we need to verify it, to either confirm or debunk this speculation. If it can’t be

debunked, then your speculation is correct.”

Sensing Molly’s fear of her husband, Mia added, “When my husband took over Cedillo Inc. at a young

age, he had to be serious and mature to command the respect of his subordinates. He’s gotten used to

being reticent and dominant over the years, to the point where it’s become second nature to him. So,

it’s not that he’s stern with you. It’s just how he is. Don’t be afraid of him. Once you get used to it, you

won’t be scared anymore.”

“Molly, Andre is your brother, your family. He may not be good with words, but he cares about you

deeply. Otherwise, he wouldn’t persist in looking for you when everyone else gave up. If you’re scared

of him, he’ll definitely sense it, and he might even reflect on what he’s done to make you feel that way.

“Actually, your second brother is a softie on the inside. Don’t be fooled by his tough exterior. He has a

soft side for his family.”

Women are always biased towards their own men. Speaking of her husband, Mia couldn’t help but feel

a pang of pity for him.

“Mia, Andre is lucky to have married you.” Molly spoke the truth.

From Mia’s mouth, one could hardly hear a bad word about Andre. She always tirelessly praised

Andre’s excellence and his virtues, giving everyone a chance to understand the real Andre.

Andre’s unspoken words were always voiced by Mia.

“That’s called a blessing.” Mia chuckled.

“Same meaning.”

A man was standing by the window in the background, with a faint smile playing on his lips.

When Andre wasn’t home, Mia’s drinks were taken care of by Naomi. After a meal, whatever nutrients

she needed would be given to her by Naomi.

When Andre was home, the servants would hand the nutritionist-prepared drinks over to him. He would

serve it to Mia.

At first, Mia grew tired of the drinks, because she had too many. Every time the housekeeper brought

her the drink, she’d quietly pour it out. Eventually, the housekeeper tattled to Andre. From then on,

Andre began to personally deliver the drink to her, supervising her until she finished every drop.

Gradually, Mia grew accustomed to this routine.

It was time once again for Andre to bring Mia her daily drink. Just as he was about to enter the room,

he overheard his lovely wife singing his praises. Gazing at Mia’s retreating figure, Andre’s eyes were

filled with love and contentment.
