Chapter 728
"Hey, chill out Mr. Finnegan! You can't be mad on your birthday!"
"You're only supposed to keep your cool on your wedding day, you rascals! Just you wait!"
With that, he wiped a smear of cake from his face, looking like a calico cat as he strode into the private dining room.
Without a word, Mr. Finnegan grabbed the smallest slice from the towering five-tier cake and proceeded to plaster it on the face of anyone within arm's reach.
The party had barely started, and everyone was already adorned with cake.
In the corner, Sullivan watched the chaos unfold, a small smirk playing at the edges of his lips.
Interesting.
Emily, spotting Mr. Finnegan's cake-slinging zeal, instinctively ducked into Sullivan's embrace.
Caught off guard, Sullivan chuckled. "What's the matter, kiddo? Are you scared?"
"Cake is meant to be eaten, not wasted!"
"True, it's a waste."
"Sullivan, I've always been good to you on set. Mr. Finnegan wouldn't dare cake me, but he did. I need protection!"
No sooner had she spoken than the cake-slinging Mr. Finnegan, looking utterly wild, had made sure everyone got their share, including Stephanie, who was now a frosted mess from head to toe. Only a pair remained untouched in the corner, but Mr. Finnegan seemed to have no intention of sparing them.
He charged towards them with a chunk of cake.
Sullivan's piercing gaze shot towards him.
Mr. Finnegan, now inches away, stopped and looked incredulous. "Sullivan?"
Sullivan raised an eyebrow. "Yes, it's me."
"You're here too?"
"And why not? Am I not welcome, Mr. Finnegan?"
"Of course, you are. I couldn't be happier! I'd love to chat about a new project. If you're not busy, how about teaming up with Stephanie for a film? What do you say?" "A Finnegan production?"
"That's right."
"I'll consider it."
Mr. Finnegan beamed. "Great, that's good to hear!"
Maximus, overhearing the
conversation, quickly chimed in. "Mr. Finnegan, what about me for the next film? Maybe a supporting role?"
Swnov
"Get outta here, you dared to slam my face with cake. You're not in my next project!"
"Mr. Finnegan, what about us? We all got a face full of cake, count us in, will ya?"
Several actresses also spoke up, hopeful.
Only Serena and Yolanda remained silent.Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.
Mr. Finnegan's next project hadn't even started and Stephanie was already set as the female lead, with Mr. Finnegan personally inviting Sullivan, a top-tier actor, for the male lead Did they, as reigning queens of the screen, not exist?
Were they invisible that Stephanie was chosen just like that? Clearly, Stephanie had some powerful backing!
Even Mr. Finnegan was eager to please her.
What they didn't know was that Mr. Finnegan had seen Stephanie's acting clips shared by Emmert and was particularly interested in the acting method she had learned from Sullivan, leading to a newfound
respect for her.
Of course, this was insider knowledge.
Mr. Finnegan tilted his chin up and said, "Someone fetch a basin of water. I need to wash up. After I'm clean, we'll all chat."
Mr. Finnegan, known for his blockbuster holiday films, released a major production every year around the festival season. Last year's film would premiere at the end of this year, and he was already planning for next year's release.
Once everyone tidied up and regained their composure, only the largest piece from the bottom layer of the cake remained. Stephanie lit the candles, the group sang 'Happy Birthday,' and then they cut the cake and enjoyed it.
One by one, they toasted to Mr. Finnegan with well-wishes.
He seemed genuinely happy. These young bucks and lasses were indeed thinking of him.
They had given him quite a delightful surprise.
