SINGLE MOTHER AND CEO

I will not share my earnings with you.

A few hours earlier, at Hacienda Los Rincones:

Rafael:

I went through my hacienda inch by inch, until I left my big Tornado exhausted, so I took him to the river, to my favorite place. Once there, I undressed and bathed by the waterfall, losing track of time.

It being almost noon I returned to the ranch, I found Aunt Anastasia, angry, sitting in the main room of the house, waiting for me. When she saw me come in with my clothes all wet, she got up in a hurry and wrapped me with a blanket that was on the sofa.

-Son, how come you’re all wet like that? You might catch a cold,” she scolded me, worried about me.

-Calm down, Aunt! I’m very well, I already unburdened myself running with Tornado -I affirmed with a wide smile- Besides, it’s not the first time I come like this, after running.

-I don’t have good news for you,” she assured me.

-What happened, aunt? Did you find out why they left like that, as if they had been chased away? -I questioned, more disappointed than interested in knowing.

“Sofia, whatever it was, she should have waited and talked to me, not walked out like she did! It seems to me that I overestimated her too much. It’s been very disappointing this experience with her,” I thought, as Aunt spoke.

-Mirelys, she hasn’t left the hacienda, she’s still here. Hiding from you and I’m sure your mother had a lot to do with it,” she assured me.

I got angry, the blood ran fast through my veins, I felt an embracing fire burning my body. This made my face and especially my ears redden. I felt everything in me ignite with rage and anger.

-So, they could have bullied Sofia? Either it was my mother, or it was Mirelys. Although I don’t believe the latter, capable of so much,” I expressed with doubts.

“But what could they have said to her to make her run away? -I wondered, looking intrigued at my aunt, who seemed convinced that they did something to Sofia, because she looked very angry.

-No idea! -she affirmed.

-So far, Sofia has seemed to me a very brave, determined woman, whom nothing and no one intimidates,” I said biting my lower lip, doubting Mirelys’ audacity to do this.

-That depends, son! On what she was told or threatened with. Remember that she adores her children, so that’s her Achilles heel,” Aunt speculated.

-I can’t conceive that they have dared to do so much, Sofia is not an easy woman to intimidate,” I declared.

She is arrogant, proud, haughty, spirited, she is not easily frightened or humiliated,” I assured her, remembering the day of the inauguration and how in her own staff there was respect, fear and admiration for her.

-You’d better talk to your mother first, because I noticed that she didn’t say anything to Mirelys about your decision to leave the hacienda, she tried to shut me up! -she confessed to me.

-Shit! -I exclaimed, “I don’t know what to do with my mother anymore? To make her understand that she should not interfere in my decisions. I am the one who will choose the woman I will be united with forever,” I demanded.

-Heh, heh, heh! -My aunt smiled, looking at me in astonishment, because I’m not used to curse or express vulgarities in front of her, “Shit is too much,” she added with a smile, making me lower my intensity.

-Ha ha ha! -I smiled with her- Only you, can make me go from one state to another, so fast and subtly, without noticing it.

“Where is Mirelys? -I asked to clarify this situation definitively.

-About an hour ago, she was sitting on the terrace upstairs, I think she was sunbathing, so I can imagine how she must be stripped,” she expressed with displeasure and rejection.

-Ha ha ha ha! I can imagine, but no problem, I won’t be tempted. Besides, that’s why I have you to ask God to take me away from her,” I said, with a mischievous smile and a wink.

Then I went upstairs, trying to imagine what Mirelys could have said to Sofia to make her leave the ranch like that? She, won’t answer my phone.

“Despicable, woman! I curse the day my mother brought her to the ranch,” I cursed, feeling angry.

I walked to the terrace, but she wasn’t there. I went to my mother’s room and heard as I approached her bedroom door, clearly the two of them laughing, celebrating something. They were toasting! I didn’t bother to knock, but instead opened the door violently.

-PLAS!

-What’s going on? -shouted Mirelys.

-What disrespect…? -my mother growled, without finishing the sentence, when she saw me and got up from her armchair.

Both of them were dumbfounded, looking at each other’s faces and with their glasses in their hands. I could see that on the round table in my mother’s room, there were traces of food, drinks and a bottle of champagne.

-From what I see the celebration is big, what are they celebrating? -I asked angrily, adding, “How did you make Sofia leave the hacienda? I regret to inform you that you are going after her.

“Now! Get out of my hacienda, both of you! -I ordered angrily, pointing my index finger at the door of the room.

-What are you talking about? -my mother growled angrily, when she saw that I almost broke the door of her room.

-What did you say to Sofia, or was it you, Mirelys? Which one of us bullied her to make her leave without me? -I asked angrily and with a murderous look on my face.

-I don’t know what the hell you’re talking about! Because you weren’t even able to introduce me to your clients, like your mother,” she complained erect and arrogant.

-Yes, you do! I’m sure you’re behind all this, but just like Sofia left, you’re leaving, I don’t want to see you here anymore! And don’t try to come back, because from today, my men will be authorized not to let you in,” I assured.

“You have ten minutes to leave my hacienda,” I demanded, letting out a strong breath of air through my mouth, trying to control my rage.

“I feel sorry and ashamed with my mother, but she has left me no choice, I must take severe measures because if not, she will never change nor respect, my decisions,” I thought with regret.

-How dare you take me away from my farm? -I am as much your mistress as you and Diana,” she said, while Mirelys opened her eyes like saucers.

-You know that what you say is not true! The only legitimate owner of the estate is me and I will not change that condition imposed by my father,” I declared sternly.

I walked to her dressing room and took out her suitcases, placing them on the bed, and then began to empty the closet and put her belongings in her suitcases. She was furious…

-You can’t throw me out of the hacienda! I am your mother and therefore your heir,” she exclaimed shamelessly.

-What does that mean? Are you capable of killing me to inherit the estate? -I asked angrily, throwing most of her things on the floor.

I opened the door and called Maria, the youngest maid in the house, who arrived immediately. Meanwhile, Mirelys didn’t say a word, she was totally astonished.Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.

-Tell me boss! -she said.

-Collect all my mother’s things and put them in her suitcases and then go to the guest room and do the same with Mirelys’ belongings,” I ordered, “But, quick! -I snapped my fingers on my right hand.

-Yes, sir! -she answered, frightened.

If before I doubted that Mirelys would dare to touch or intimidate some of my guests. Today, I am fully convinced that it was so. Without knowing anything about what she really did to Sofia, I am sure she was the one who made her go.

It made me very sad to see what my mother was capable of doing to get her way. I was not going to allow this, so I called the chauffeur so that the two of them could leave in Mirelys’ truck, because they were under the influence of alcohol.

-I warn you, mother, that if you do not change your attitude and respect my decisions, I will take more drastic ones. I will assign you a minimum amount of money, for your maintenance, as provided by law, and nothing more. I will not share my earnings with you,” I added angrily.

Talking to the driver, I ordered him to take them both to the mansion in Ciudad La Rosa and to stay there until further notice. Once he started the van, I felt a very deep sadness to see how my mother, preferred to support other people, at the expense of my own feelings and interests…
