Christine, her eyes filled with a newfound fierceness, stepped in front of Oona and shielded her like a mother hen.

For years, she’d put up with all the drama in this house, trying to keep the peace for her husband. But seeing her daughter getting bullied like that was her last straw!

Consequences be damned! Christine was done being a pushover. She decided to flee the mean Walsh family with her son and daughter.

“Don’t worry, sweetie. I’m here with you.” She murmured protectively to Oona.

Oona could tell Christine probably had some hidden ninja moves. She couldn’t help but smirk with confidence, ‘Nah, easy peasy, Mom, Watch me!”

With that, Oona blew right past her.

Christine looked at her daughter’s familiar face, but something was off. Now, an icy, bloodthirsty vibe was radiating off Oona. What the heck happened?

A cold glint flashed in Oona’s eyes as she locked eyes with the bodyguards. It was all so fast that most people missed it.

A blur zipped past, and then bam! The bodyguards were writhing on the floor, whimpering.

The display sent shockwaves through Christine and Old Mrs. Walsh, Lauren, and Verona, who witnessed the entire scene. unfold from the living room

Lauren’s gaze hardened towards Oona. “This girl is no longer the weakling we knew! There’s something more to her. We gotta get her outta here ASAP!”

“Goodness gracious!” Christine exclaimed, her initial worry morphing into a surprised realization: Her timid daughter timid anymor

“See, Mom? I told you they got nothing on me!” Oona toned down the chilling aura and bragged casually to Christine.

Maybe it was the original Oona rubbing off on her, but she felt a weird sense of safety and love for Christine. A strange sense of connection tugged at her heart whenever she looked at Christine..

Christine, oblivious to Oona’s darkness, embraced her daughter. “Oh, dear! You scared the life out of me! Don’t ever do that again!”

She wasn’t even fazed by Oona’s sudden badassery. Blinded by love, Christine saw only her daughter’s awakening, a transformation prophecy.

A fortune teller’s tarot reading had predicted a shift in Oona’s destiny–a transformation for the better, perhaps even a complete change of personality, triggered by a lucky charm. It was why they’d agreed to the Goetz marriage, their son could be the catalyst to unlocking Oona’s potential.

However, apart from Christine and her husband, nobody else knew about this.

Suddenly, the air crackled with tension. Old Mrs. Walsh’s voice boomed, laced with fury. “This is outrageous! You’re out of the family, you good–for–nothing!”

Suddenly, another voice boomed from outside the gate. “No need to get your knickers in a twist. I’m happy to sever ties. As of today, the Walsh family and I go our separate ways.”

A tall, imposing middle–aged man in a black suit entered – Enoch, the head of the family and Oona’s father.

Lauren and Verona’s eyes lit up with joy at Enoch’s declaration. They exchanged excited glances towards Old Mrs. Walsh.

With him gone, they would be next in line for the inheritance.
