| never imagined that Nelly would ever be mine. | never thought she would ever reject Astel. Last night was the best night of my life. | felt as if | were living in a dream. | wanted this moment to last forever.
gazed into her eyes, and | couldn’t help but notice the mark on her neck. | wanted to touch her, to feel her skin against mine. My hands traveled up her legs, and she moaned. softly. Her eyes fluttered open, and she moved away from me. | couldn’t help but chuckle..
“You're such a tease,” | said. She laughed, her eyes sparkling.
“Maybe | am,” | said, a mischievous glint in my eyes. She tried to stand up, but | grabbed her arm, pulling her close to me. “Where are you off to?” | asked, my thumb caressing her check.
“| can’t stay in bed all day,” she said, her voice soft.
| smiled, mischief in my eyes. “And what if | want to make you stay in bed all day?” | asked, and she pushed me away, a playful smile on her face.
| stood up and quickly grabbed her, pinning her against the wall. “You want to run from me, don’t you?” | asked, grinning. She smiled, biting her lip. “Not this morning, Kex,” she groaned, and | couldn't help but feel a thrill of excitement.
“And what if | want it?” | asked, my voice low. She looked up at me, her eyes full of desire.
“Maybe later,” she whispered, her breath tickling my neck. My heart beat faster, and | knew | was completely hers.
| leaned in to kiss her, and she met my lips with her own. We stayed like that fora moment, savoring the moment. Then | stepped aside, allowing her to leave the room. | rested my hands
on my jaw, watching her sway her hips as she walked away.

arms, to breathe in her scent. Was this how the mate thing worked, or was | just overreacting?
The thought of staying in bed with her all day didn’t sound the least bit boring. In fact, | couldn’t imagine a more appealing way to spend my time. | just wanted to be with her, to feel her presence in the room, to smell her scent in the air.
It was intoxicating, pulling me in, making it difficult to think about anything else. | pulled my clothes on and headed to the bathroom, hoping a shower would clear my head. But as the water poured over me, all | could think about was her.
| finished my shower and stepped out of the bathroom, feeling refreshed and invigorated. | put on my shirt and jeans, combed my hair, and started whistling a happy tune. As | headed to the dining room, a smile spread across my face. But when | got there, | froze. The smile disappeared from my face.
In front of me stood Nelly, her eyes sparkling as she smiled at the man across from her. My wolf howled in pain, and | felt my jaw clench.
“Mate!” My wolf yelled. | was filled with an overwhelming urge to hit him. How dare he make my mate smile? | was entitled to make her happy, not him. My wolf demanded that | “go get our women.
| took a deep breath, trying to steady myself. | had to remain calm. Lashing out would only make things worse. But it was so hard not to let my anger get the best of me.
| stormed over to the table and pushed him aside, sending the plates crashing to the floor. He looked at me, his eyes wide with fear.
“Get out!” | yelled. “But he is just helping me,” Nelly said. | turned to her, my expression hard. “I can help you,” | said, my voice low and dangerous.
| couldn't stand to see her with him. | felt an irrational need to remove him from her presence. She didn’t seem to understand that | was only trying to protect her.
| turned to the useless guard who was still standing there, his eyes filled with fear.
“What the hell are you still doing here?” | asked, my voice filled with rage. And that was all | needed to say for the guard to run away.
“That wasn’t necessary,” she said, her voice tinged with annoyance. “He was just helping 98.77%
me.”
| took a deep breath, trying to keep my tone calm.
“He doesn’t need to help you, you need to see the way you were smiling,” | said, my eyes meeting hers. She looked up at me, her eyes widening.
“No... you're not... jealous, are you?” she asked, a teasing grin forming on her lips. | rolled my eyes, but couldn’t help the smile that crept onto my own. “You are jealous,” she said, happily, and she let out a loud laugh. “I can’t believe it!”
The room was filled with her laughter, and it was the most beautiful sound | had ever heard. | wanted to make her laugh like this every day.
| wanted to see her light up the room with her smile, and | would do anything to keep her happy. At that moment, | realized just how much she meant to me.
| wrapped my arms around her waist, and she placed her hands on my cheeks.
“You don’t need to be jealous. I’m all yours,” she said softly. | closed my eyes, relishing the feel of her hands on my face.
“| can’t help it,” | said, leaning in to kiss her.
She pulled back, her eyes twinkling. “I need to set the table,” she said, her voice light.
“The maids can do it,” | groaned, not wanting to let go of her.
“No,” she said, a mischievous smile on her lips. ““I want to handle breakfast today,” she said, as she headed toward the kitchen.
| followed her, like a magnet drawn to her warmth. She began to set the table, moving with an efficiency that | found both alluring and frustrating. | wanted to be the one taking care of her, and yet | was helpless to resist watching her.
We all sat down at the table, and Nelly hugged Aisha, whispering something in her ear that made her jump up and down with joy. | pulled out a chair for Nelly, and she sat down beside me.
Aisha served the food, smiling as she placed the plates in front of us. The aroma of freshly cooked eggs and toast filled the air, and my stomach growled in anticipation. Nelly chuckled, and | felt my checks
grow warms I started eating, but a thought crept into my mind. | put down my fork and cleared my throat, drawing everyone's attention. Chapter 84
“| have an announcement,” | said, smiling broadly.
The room went silent, and | took a deep breath. Everyone was looking at me, waiting for what | was about to say.
