Reborn Before The Divorce

Chapter 77

Although her back was wrapped in gauze and she was wearing close-fitting pants, Nydia’s long and straight legs appeared before Jesse’s eyes, as well as her slender ankles, which his palms could easily wrap around.

Jesse’s gaze swept up and down Nydia’s body, and then he turned his eyes away, his earlobes turning flushing.

He knew Nydia had a good figure, although she looked thin, she was well-proportioned, with flesh where it should be and no extra fat where it shouldn’t, with smooth and graceful lines.

While he was lost in thought, Nydia had already changed her clothes, wearing long pants and a loose top.

“Do I look decent now?” Nydia turned around and teasingly asked Jesse.

Obviously, she still held a grudge over what happened last time.

Jesse pursed his lips and said nothing.

Due to her fever, Nydia’s cheeks were crimson, her lips like blood, which contrasted her charming and radiant appearance even more when she arched her eyebrows and smiled.

He had always known she was beautiful, but she rarely showed this side of herself in front of him, like a cannibalistic fairy, emitting an irresistible attraction that made people want to jump into the abyss without hesitation, just to have a moment of ecstasy.

A knock on the door interrupted the slow rising temperature in the room. “Sir, Dr. Wallaker is here,” the butler Jeff said outside.

“Okay, please show him to the living room.”Content © NôvelDrama.Org.

Then Jesse and Nydia went to the living room together. The two children wanted to come along, but were stopped by the nanny. It was not suitable for them to see Nydia’s horrible back injury.

Vincent took Nydia’s temperature.

“It’s quite high, 39. 2 degrees.”

“But it’s normal for a back injury to cause a fever. Let me do a check-up first.”

Vincent listened to Nydia’s heartbeat and checked her tonsils, while the nurse examined the injury on her back.

“The back injury has not worsened, and there is no infection,” the nurse said.

“Her tonsils are swollen.”

“I think I fell asleep while lying down earlier without realizing it.” The room started to have air conditioning, but she didn’t cover herself with the blanket and caught a cold.

“Okay, no big deal. Take some medicine first and see if the fever goes down. If it continues to rise, then you need to go to the hospital for further examination,” Vincent said.

After checking Nydia’s condition, he looked at Jesse and asked, “How about you? Are you okay?”

“I’m fine,” Jesse replied.

Vincent knew that Jesse was stubborn, so he still checked him and took his temperature, and he was indeed fine.

“You are fine, but not everyone has the same physical condition as you. Mrs. Pascall has a weak constitution and needs to be more careful,” Vincent said, obviously addressing Jesse. Jesse’s eyes darkened, but he didn’t say anything.

“However, your wounds should be healing faster. Although they have not worsened, they should have improved somewhat today,” Vincent said, observing that their wounds still looked fresh.

The nurse interjected bluntly, “They both changed their bandages recently.”

Vincent looked at Jesse, who met his gaze with an expression that said, “I don’t know, it’s not my fault, it’s your medicine that’s not good enough.”

“Your injuries are not too serious, but if they keep getting worse and not healing properly, it can lead to infections. Then you will regret it if large areas of skin necrosis occur,” Vincent said in a cold tone, clearly angry at Jesse’s behavior. Vincent knew how much Jesse cared for Nydia, so if he really didn’t care, Vincent would have let it go.

“After dinner, take your medicine and go to bed, cover yourself with the blanket, and your fever should go down tomorrow,” Vincent instructed before leaving with the nurse, but Jesse insisted they stay for dinner.

After dinner, Nydia took her medicine and soon became sleepy, lying down on the bed to sleep.

A few hours later, there was a thunderstorm outside with pouring rain, and the sound of glass shattering. A blazing white lightning bolt struck down, illuminating the darkness. Nydia, who had been sleeping with her eyes closed, suddenly opened them and saw someone at the side of her bed, causing her to scream in terror.
