HOSPITAL
Layla was losing it, she started to feel dizzy and lightheaded. Her body ached, and she felt like she was going to pass out. She was so thirsty, and she could feel her strength waning. She knew she needed to get help, but she was too weak to move.
Her stomach ached in pain, it grumbled out of hunger and her throat ached also.
She started to feel hot and clammy, and her head was spinning. She tried to sit up, but she was too weak. She began to panic, her mind racing with thoughts of what might happen to her. She felt like she was slipping away, like she was losing her grip on reality.
She couldn’t afford to lose her baby, so with the little strength she could muster, she slowly crawled out of the bed, straight to the ground as she tried to crawl to the door.
She was trying to do so when she heard her name.
“Layla, Layla!!” It was Nolan’s voice. The door sprang open and Nolan came into view as he breathed deeply. He was shocked to see Layla on the ground.
“Layla…” He uttered softly as he felt his heart ache, a hint of guilt flashing through his eyes.
“Please help me..” Nolan begged in a very low voice. Though he was the one who put her in the situation he was the only one who could help her now. She couldn’t afford to lose her pregnancy
Layla was surprised by Nolan’s sudden change in demeanor. She could see the guilt in his eyes, and she could hear the sincerity in his voice. She didn’t know what to think, but she knew she needed help.
“I need to go to the hospital,” she said, her voice trembling. Nolan’s face softened, and he knelt down beside her.
“I’ll take you,” he offered. “Just let me help you up.” Layla hesitated, but she knew she had no other choice, he was the beast who put her in this condition. If anything ever happened to her child, she would never forgive him.
“Please help me..” she cried, feeling her breath shorten as Nolan quickly ran to her side and he knelt beside her. He was responsible for all of this. He had put her in that condition. It was his fault.
“Layla..” he held her body up, she was light, her skin was pale. She looked dead!
“Please save my baby..” those were the last words that slipped out of her lips as she slowly lost consciousness.
Nolan’s heart sank as he heard Layla’s words. What was she talking about? He quickly brushed that thought off his head.
He knew he had to get her to a hospital, and he had to do it fast. He gently lifted her into his arms, and he carried her out of the room.
He rushed down the stairs, his heart pounding in his chest. He had to get her to a hospital, he had to save her. He ran out of the house, and he carried Layla to his car. He carefully placed her in the passenger seat, and he jumped into the driver’s seat.
He drove as fast as he could, praying that they would get to the hospital before anything bad happened.

Xander was about to open his car door as he just retired from work when someone suddenly shut the door.
“What the f…” he cursed at the intruder.
“Aurora!!” He called in surprise. What was she doing here? And why would she bang at his door like that.
“What do you want?” He asked.
“Where’s Layla?” Aurora questioned going straight to the point.
“She’s your best friend, call her. Why would you bang my car door like that?” He asked in annoyance.
“Well I’ve done that. But she’s not picking which has left me worried. I’ve been trying to call her last night up till this morning but I got no response..” she pointed out. Layla was not the kind of person to ghost her, she had texted, called but not even a single response. So she was worried.
“Layla’s not at work. She didn’t come to work today” Xander informed.
“Now you have to apologize for what you did!!” He requested.
“They hell with your apologies. Give me her address. I’m going to her place!!” Aurora requested. It was high time she knew where Layla lived. Layla was her responsibility.
“Sorry I can’t do that” Xander bluntly refused. If she needed Layla’s address, she should ask her herself.
“How dare you!!” She fired at him.
“Go home Aurora, I’m…” Xander was interrupted by a phone call.
“I’ll take this” he excused himself picking the call up.
“Yes Nolan what’s up?’ he asked.
“By the way, where’s Layla? Because someone is certainly trying to behead me over here?” He asked, rolling his eyes at Aurora who glared at him.
“I’m at the hospital” Nolan informed as Xander stilled.
“Hospital? What are you doing at the hospital?” Xander grilled and Aurora suddenly became interested in his phone call.
“It’s Layla..”
“Wait!! What!! Layla?” He exclaimed.
“What’s Layla doing at the hospital? You know what I’m coming to you, just text me the address of the hospital ” Xander informed as he disconnected the call.
“What’s Layla doing at the hospital?” Aurora asked in panic.
“How would I know? I was just informed!!” He snapped at her making way to get into his car.
“Didn’t try me Xander!!” She fired, holding his arm to prevent him from moving.
“What Aurora? Go home. I have to leave..” he said, releasing himself from her hold.
“You’ve gotta be kidding me…” she scoffed and then immediately made way for the other side of the car.
“What are you doing?” He queried, perplexed.
“Going to the hospital, now get into the car and drive!” She yelled at him and she got into the car.
Xander inhaled deeply as he entered the car, he would deal with her later right now it was Layla that mattered.
