Chapter 5 by Lorelei Thunder
Helen was about to cry her heart out. Teary-eyed, she said, “Ever since you saved him last time, my father changed his ways. He abandoned all those unrighteous dealings he had in the past and does only legitimate business now.
“He forks out ten million dollars every year for charitable causes, including building orphanages and schools in rural areas and helping the poor and those who cannot afford medical help. He even intends to increase the amount annually.
“My father has truly turned over a new leaf! Please save him, Dr. Henderson! If you’re willing to help him, the Cartwright family will give you a millennium-old Panax root!”
Helen had spent a huge fortune seeking help for her father for the past few days but had ended up in a wild goose chase.
Then, one day, she suddenly recalled how her father’s condition had taken a turn for the worse three years ago. But the odd thing was that he went out one day and returned in perfect health.
Mason had claimed that he had been in luck and that, somehow, the condition had gone away on its own. But that had just been an excuse.
Helen didn’t believe a word of it because after her father returned, his entire personality changed. It was like he was a completely different person altogether.
It wasn’t until Helen opened her father’s safe and found out about Woody from his diary that it all became clear to her.
It was normal for someone of Woody’s caliber to have his own set of rules. But he was her only hope of ever saving her father.
Helen had done everything she could to get Woody’s number from Bradley. Then, she gave him a call, risking the possibility of offending Woody.
She couldn’t bear to just watch her father die without trying everything in her means to help him. Even if she would end up crossing Woody, she decided that she had to give it a try.
Touched by her determination to help her father, Woody sighed and said, “If that’s the case, I’ll make an exception just this once.”
“Thank you, Dr. Henderson.” When Helen raised her head, there were tears running down her face.
“However, all my other rules still stand,” Woody informed her.
He only accepted patients and didn’t do house calls.
Helen nodded quickly. “I understand. May I know where you are now? And how can I get to you?”
“I’m in Tiusto City. The Hillside Hotel.”
“Oh, you’re in Tiusto City! That’s great! I’m from Tiusto City, too! We’re at Centralton Hospital now. I’ll get my father sent over in a chopper right away!’

Every inch of land in Southera Town was precious. Only the rich and famous could afford to stay there. But the York family had a luxurious three-story mansion there, complete with a lawn and a backyard.Property © NôvelDrama.Org.
Just four years ago, they had still been cooped up in a rural village, struggling to make ends meet. It was Woody who had been generous enough to welcome them into his new house in Southera Town, giving them an opportunity to stay in the city.
The Yorks were now considered a newly affluent upper-class family.
At that moment, Woody’s mother-in-law, Trudy Sheehan, and his brother-in-law, Brutus York, were over the moon with joy.
“That’s amazing! Your sister finally got a divorce!”
Trudy’s elation was unmistakable. “If it was up to me, she should have gotten a divorce from that Henderson scumbag ages ago. Our family’s business has been booming ever since he’d been imprisoned!
“That only proves that he’s the main reason we weren’t able to attain success in the past! Oh, I regret it so much! I should’ve opposed Pamela’s relationship with him back then! He wasted four years of her youth!
“But at least he knows what’s good for him and agreed to the divorce readily. I won’t let him off easily otherwise!”
As though reminded of something, Brutus said with a frown, “I think things aren’t as simple as they seem.
“I overheard Pam and Miriam’s conversation, and they mentioned something about repaying the bastard with a house, a car, and three million dollars in cash. All in all, it might very well add up to over five or six million dollars!”
“Why didn’t you say so earlier? No wonder he agreed to the divorce! So that’s the reason!” Trudy’s eyes widened.
Brutus continued, “I thought Pam was just saying it and didn’t actually mean it. I never expected her to really give him so much!”
Trudy was instantly angered. “That Henderson bastard was only imprisoned for four years. What rights does he have to take so much of our money? We don’t owe him anything!
“There’s no way he’s getting away with all that! We must get it back from him! I’ll take that money back from him, and we’ll start up a company for you, too! You’ll get to be an entrepreneur, just like your sister!”
When Brutus heard that, he was ecstatic. “Okay! Deal! I’ll call the rascal right now and ask him where he is.”
