Chapter 604

"You shouldn't overwork yourself, or Matthew will kill me!" Hudson chuckled.

Lucy was a little embarrassed to hear that as she knew exactly what Matthew's temperament was like. He was so easily jealous that she did not know what to do about it at times.

"Matthew can be quite stubborn at times. I hope you don't mind."

"It's okay, I don't mind. I was just joking. Are you going home now? Do you want me to give you a ride?"

Lucy waved her hand and said, "No need. Matthew will be here soon."

"Alright then. I'll be going now. Take care and stay safe."Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

"Goodbye, Mr. Xender."

After Hudson left, Lucy sat at her desk, waiting for Matthew to come.

"Lulu, I'm downstairs. Hurry down and don't forget to put on your coat. It's a bit chilly outside," Matthew's concerned voice came through the phone. "Okay." Lucy obediently put on her coat and hurried downstairs. When she reached, she saw Matthew standing by the road waiting for her. "Get in, Lulu, or you'll catch a cold." Matthew carefully opened the car door for her. Once she was inside, he hopped in and drove off. Feeling incredibly sleepy on the way home, Lucy dozed off. Matthew looked at her with pity and gently stroked her head.

When they got home, Matthew carried her from the passenger seat to her bedroom, tucking her in before resuming his work in the study.

The next morning, Lucy was awakened by her alarm clock.

Seeing as Matthew was not beside her, she assumed that he had already left for work. After getting ready, Lucy went down for breakfast.

As she approached the kitchen, she found Matthew busy preparing breakfast inside.

Lucy could not believe her eyes. The breakfast she had been eating all this while was actually prepared by Matthew.

She tiptoed toward the kitchen, but Matthew still heard her footsteps. Upon turning around, he saw Lucy sneaking up on him.

"Matt, you know how to cook?" Lucy was still in disbelief, but the scene before her was undeniable proof.

Hearing her, he finally understood why she was acting so sneaky.

"I didn't know how to cook before, but I learned a bit. It's actually quite simple, so I've been making you breakfast every morning. Is itnice?"

Lucy squinted her eyes and ran over to hug his waist.

"Your food tastes great, Matt." Lucy hugged him and praised his cooking skills, boosting his confidence.

"Alright, go sit at the dining table. I'll

to work later." Matthew rubbe a s

Lucy reluctantly let go of him and walked over to the dining table.

Looking at the breakfast spread, Lucy did not know where to start, so she tried a bit of everything.

"Wow, this tastes delicious, Matt! I love you so much," Lucy said as she kept stuffing herself.

"Take your time. No one is taking your food away."

"Aren't you eating?" Lucy noticed that Matthew had not touched his cutlery.

"I am. I'll eat now," Matthew said, picking up his cutlery.
