Chapter 30 Did You Have Fun?
Chapter 30 Did You Have Fun?
"I've been tricked!"
This was the very first thought that came to her mind.
Anything else he said would be nothing more than a lie to her.
"Waiter!" she yelled as she stood up.
Immediately, the waiter leaned over and said, "Mr. Henderson just signed the bill."
Lacey frowned and looked at Theo. "Mr. Henderson?"
"This is the 103rd branch of my family's restaurant." He smiled brightly. "As a result, there's no reason
to pay the bill!"
"Are you from a wealthy family?" Lacey went on to ask.
Theo remained silent, seemingly admitting it.
"Hand over your phone!" She extended her hand.
"Are you going to give me your number?" Theo handed up his phone without hesitation.
Lacey remained silent as she launched Theo's Venmo app.
She scanned the QR code with her phone, and "ding," the payment for $1800 was completed.
"What do you mean by this?" Her actions perplexed Theo slightly.
Despite Lacey's dazzling smile, her eyes were as cold as an iceberg. "Did you have fun?" she asked.
"Huh?" Theo became even more confused.
"I don't care if your family owns this restaurant or if you come from a well-off family. The moment you
lied to me at the airport made you no different than a rogue." And with that, Lacey grabbed her purse
and headed for the exit door.
"Lacey!" Theo rushed after her. He grabbed her arm and apologized, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean it. I didn't
have bad intentions."
Lacey frowned. She stared at his hand and said in a frustrated tone, "Let go of me."
"I'm very sorry. Would you please listen to me explain—" Before Theo could finish, a look of surprise
colored his face.
Lacey followed his line of sight and turned around. She frowned after that.
It was Lillianna and one of her female friends who had arrived.
What rotten luck!
"Lacey?" Lillianna noticed her as soon as she entered and walked over. "Lacey, what are you doing
here?"
Lacey grinned perfunctorily. "Big sis, what a coincidence."
Lillianna responded with a chuckle. "It certainly is. I'm here to have a meal with my friend. Also, where
were you last night? Dad was worried about you."
She deliberately brought up that Lacey hadn't been home all night.
Everyone else who was eating in the restaurant pricked up their ears.
Some even started taking pictures with their cell phones.
The twins were the exact opposite. One had a bad reputation, while the other was flawless.
The gossipers would never pass up the opportunity to witness a good show.
"Lacey, you already have a bad name. Why do you continue to stay out all night? Will you stop
worrying your sister?" Cadence Hester, Lillianna's friend, commented sarcastically.
"Cadence, stop it." Lillianna shook her head. As if weighing heavily on her mind, she said, "The reason
she didn't come home all night must be because she was at a friend's house. Cadence, you shouldn't Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
say things like that."
"I'm not joking around. Everyone in South City knows she's slept with a lot of guys. She is a mistress
who also wants to steal her sister's fiancé. What do you think she's doing staying out all night?"
Cadence giggled with eyes of sarcasm.
Right away, a commotion erupted in the crowd.
"You do have a point," Lacey smirked as she stared at Cadence. "You must keep a close eye on your
sweetheart. Otherwise, he might end up in my bed one day."
"How shameless!" Enraged, Cadence raised her hand and was about to slap Lacey.
"Ma'am, it's not appropriate for a pretty woman like you to hit someone."
Her hand came to a halt in mid-air.
Cadence paused as she raised her eyes to Theo. What a handsome man!
"Who is this, Lacey?" Lillianna, too was drawn to Theo. Though he didn't have Sam's flawless
appearance, he was gorgeous than any of the male models she'd ever slept with.
"I'm—" Just as Theo was about to introduce himself, Cadence's voice broke out.
"I'm warning you. You must not stick with her. She's chaotic!" Cadence exclaimed with great
confidence, "Ask anyone else here if you don't believe me. Everybody knows she has a bad reputation.
You'd better not get yourself into her mess."
"So that's how it is!" Theo raised his head with a contemplative expression.
"It sure is! This is her elder sister, Lillianna. Ask her about it if you don't believe me." Cadence grabbed
Lillianna by the arm and said, "Lillianna, why don't you tell him what type of person Lacey is!"
"Cadence, stop it. Lacey will eventually change one day." Despite Lillianna's concerned tone, her
comment had inner meaning.
Theo nodded. "Even so, I think my girlfriend is wonderful!" he said, a faint smile on his face as he faced
the two women.
Lacey frowned as she gazed up at Theo. What was this guy trying to do?
"Lacey, since when did you have a boyfriend?" Lillianna was startled. Her expression grew gloomy
gradually.
Clearly, she was displeased with Lacey for having such a good-looking boyfriend.
"Mr. Garrison." A greeting interrupted the group's conversation at that precise moment.
Everyone turned around to see Sam and Mason Jenkins walking in.
"Sam!" Lillianna was very surprised and rushed over to greet him with a smile. "Sam—"
Sam walked over after noticing her.
"Sam, look, Lacey has a boyfriend!" Lillianna hurried over to grab his arm and said with a gentle tone.
"Is that so?" Mockery rose in Sam's face. However, there seemed to be something else in his eyes.
Lacey wasn't comfortable with the way he was looking at her.
She subconsciously leaned into Theo's arms and said, "Sam, Lillianna, meet my boyfriend, Theo
Henderson!"
"She's your girlfriend, huh?" Sam gazed deeply into Theo's eyes.
"That's right, big bro. This is my girlfriend, Lacey!" Theo beamed.
Big bro?
Did he just call Sam big bro?
