Chapter 99 Tell Him How She Felt
“Why?” Byron asked in puzzlement.
The villa was obviously safer and more comfortable than her
apartment.
Moreover, it was his place.
In the past, Byron demanded her not to stay overnight here in order to not let her have any illusions
about him.
But now…
“Why?” Athena looked at Byron and smiled.
Her simple word stabbed Byron’s heart like a knife.
“I have too much bad memory about this place,” Athena said word by word, “Do you know it’s very
inconvenient to commute here? It takes twenty minutes to walk to the gate of the community, and it’s
hard to hail a taxi in the middle of the night.
“Do you still remember you insisted on eating a cake from a store at Freya’s birthday? I almost froze to
death when I went back with the cake. But what did you do?”
Athena pointed to the living room.
“You threw the cake into the trash can without even asking.
“How many times have I been tortured by you to satisfy your desire? And I still have to get up and get
out obediently.
“Byron, why should I endure all of this?“.
Byron frowned.
He walked to Athena and said, “Since you are unhappy, why didn’t you say it before?”
“In the past, you paid me for serving you, so I wouldn’t complain. Now…” Athena said with a mocking Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.
smile, “It’s different. If you don’t threaten me with my soft spots, I won’t come back even if I die
outside.”
Byron’s feelings were complicated, and he didn’t know what to
say.
Athena lowered her eyelids, carried the clothes she bought, and went to change without looking back.
By the time she changed clothes and came out, Byron had already left.
She didn’t know what Byron would think after hearing that.
But she didn’t care about it.
She returned to the dining table and finished eating the Fluffernutter.
After eating, she was lost in thought.
Byron just left without saying a word. She didn’t even know whether she was allowed to go out.
She was worried Byron would be furious and make things difficult for Evie if she left.
After thinking about it, Athena opened WhatsApp, ready to send him a message.
But before she started typing, Byron’s message was sent over.
[The car you often drive is in the garage. You can move back to the apartment if you don’t like there.]
His words made Athena not struggle anymore, and she immediately cheered up and replied to his
message.
[Thank you, Mr. Crawford.]
As soon as Athena sent the message, she was ready to go out.
When she reached the door, Evie called over.
She answered the phone and said, “Are you awake?”
There was no sound over there. Athena thought it might be the signal issue, so she called Evie’s
name.
“I’m here.” Evie’s voice sounded a bit strange. “Where are you?”
“What’s wrong?” Athena asked softly, “Could it be last night…”
“No, I’m fine!” Evie hurriedly said, “Can you come back?”
“Of course. I’ll go back now,” Athena said.
“Okay. I’ll buy your favorite dessert and wait for you!”
After hanging up the phone, Athena was a little distraught
somehow.
Evie has been careless since she was a child, as if she had never had anything to worry about.
But she seemed to be preoccupied on the phone, and it sounded like she had just cried.
Athena thought, “Could it be that bastard gave Evie or her family a hard time?
I’ve done what he wanted last night!
What else does he want?”
Suppressing the urge to call Byron and swear at him, Athena went out and drove toward Evie’s house.
