Chapter 1527: Missing You
Chapter 1527: Missing You
But of course, Ayan couldn't remind her, otherwise she would get angry with him again.
He quickly got up and went downstairs to have breakfast. The dining room was empty, the food was lukewarm, and the housekeeper had already gone to watch TV, paying no attention to them. Camille and Ayan sat quietly at the dining table, Ayan's gaze constantly falling on her, but Camille avoided his silent gaze.
He smiled and said, "There's no one here now, can we talk while we eat?"
Camille immediately shook her head and said, "No need, you said it yourself, silence during meals."
This was something he had said a long time ago when she loved him and he didn't love her. So many times she wanted to say something to him during meals, but he would shut her down with just that
sentence.
Now she used that sentence to retort Ayan, then continued drinking her soup without saying much.
After finishing their meal, Ayan personally cleaned up the table, and then they went upstairs to the study together.
Ayan still had some work to attend to, while Camille sat there reading a book. Suddenly, she remembered that he was going to the bar in the afternoon to drink. She asked, "Who are you going to drink with in the afternoon?"
Camille asked this question on a whim, realizing it a little late.
Ayan looked up at her and smiled lightly, "Mrs. Simpson, isn't it a bit late for you to ask this question now?"
"Is it someone of the opposite sex? My intuition must not be good if you didn't even tell me. Looks like I need to rearrange my intuition." Camille didn't really think this way. Even if it was someone of the opposite sex, she trusted Ayan.
Naturally, there were many people of the opposite sex around him, but since Ayan didn't have any intentions, nothing unexpected would happen no matter how good her intuition was.
Ayan smiled and asked, "Who is your intuition?"Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.
"I won't tell you. If I tell you, then you'll know."
"I can pretend not to know."
"Really?" Camille asked curiously.
Ayan said, "Of course, so do you want to tell me?"
"I'll think about it." Camille didn't really have any intuition. Her intuition was probably herself.
Ayan smiled and didn't continue the topic. Instead, he said, "I talked with Horace about the participants from various companies for this project. It's obvious that this is not an accident because there have been many low-level issues that shouldn't have happened."
Although the four of them had discussed this issue separately in a meeting, they all knew without explicitly stating it that this was not a simple accident.
Now everyone has started investigating the identities and backgrounds of the personnel from their respective companies. If it is found that their own company is involved, they will have to conduct a separate investigation.
This incident served as a big lesson and reminder for Ayan, Mario, Horace, and the Nores family. This incident was relatively minor, but the next one might not be so small.
Camille was well aware of this point. She pursed her lips and asked with a slightly serious tone, "There shouldn't be any connection with Simpson Group's people, right?"
"I can't be sure now. If there is a connection, we can't avoid it. It's better to find out now. After all, the project is only one-third completed. It's better to have problems now than to encounter major issues when the project is fully developed," Ayan said calmly.
Camille nodded in agreement and then asked, "What about Armstrong Corp? How does Horace plan to handle it?"
Ayan told Camille about his
conversation with Horace at the bar.
Camille had no objections after
listening She didn't need the benefits that Horace proposed because having so much money didn't bring her much advantage. If she wanted it, she could have just taken over Armstrong Corp from the beginning.
Camille said, "If there is anything Armstrong Corp needs help with, as long as it doesn't affect Simpson Group, the Simpson family, and your personal interests and wishes, prioritize Armstrong Corp for my sake!"
"That goes without saying. Not for anything else, but just for your peace of mind and knowing that you're worried about Grace's future. Horace shouldn't go wrong," Ayan said.
Camille nodded with a slight smile on her face. She took the initiative to walk up to Ayan and hugged him, saying, "No one is better than you in my heart."
These words pleased Ayan greatly. His expression softened and his voice became even more gentle as he asked, "Is that really true?"
"Of course. In my heart, you are the best," Camille repeated, then leaned in and kissed the corner of his mouth.
Her actions tugged at his heartstrings. Ayan held her hand tighter in his grip and his emotions swelled within him. But he thought about how they had just done it before dinner and worried that she might be tired, so he dismissed the thought.
But as soon as he suppressed that thought, Camille directly wrapped her arms around his neck and whispered in a low voice, "Don't you want to kiss me?"
Camille was particularly playful tonight. How could he resist?
He immediately held onto Camille's waist and embraced her in his arms before asking, "Not tired?"
He implied something with his words. Camille blushed on her cheeks. She was indeed tired, but what he did behind her back... if she didn't ask about it herself, he wouldn't mention it.
So she was touched.
Knowing that he wasn't satisfied last night, she wanted to make him happy in this way.
Their eyes met, and Ayan gently pinched her chin and kissed her lips. Everything fell into place naturally.
They spent a dreamless night together. When Camille woke up the next morning, it was already 7 o'clock.
She didn't know when Ayan had gotten up; his presence was absent from the bedroom. It wasn't surprising since he usually left for work around 6:50.
After getting up and freshening up, Camille changed into clean clothes and applied light makeup before heading downstairs.
As she descended the stairs, she noticed Ayan sitting on the sofa in the living room. She immediately looked over in surprise and asked, "Ayan, haven't you gone to the office yet?"
Ayan looked up at her and put down the documents in his hand. He stood up and walked towards her while holding her hand. His voice was soft as he said, "I was planning to have breakfast with you before going to the office. But I just received a call asking me to handle something urgent, so I have to go now."
"No need to wait for me. Go ahead with your work; I work; I can have breakfast by myself," Camille said as she leaned into his embrace. Her voice was gentle as she lightly scratched his palm with her fingers. "What should I do? I'm already missing you before you've even left."
Ayan smiled. Since yesterday, Camille had been unusually clingy and playful. Sweet words flowed from her mouth effortlessly, making it difficult for him to resist.
He held her tightly in his arms and spoke in an incredibly gentle tone, "I'll have dinner with you tonight, alright?"
"Okay!" Camille immediately smiled and looked up at Ayan.
