Chapter 73 Fight! Fight! Fight!
Jim stared at Matthew with bloodshot eyes.
He never thought his brother would say such a thing!
All that said was that he’d fooled around with women so much that he was dragging everything onto women.
“We’re a family, Matthew. Is this how you treat family?” Jim raged. He sprang out of his chair, emanating aggression.
He had actually come back late, but it was because some third-rate model had stood him up. He was still seething.
“You’re technically my family. Of course I know that.” Matthew sat, completely at ease, on the sofa, long legs folded. Holding a cup of coffee, he looked up slightly and his reply was casual.
Jim’s face started to tremble.
This big brother of his never took him seriously!
“What do you mean by that, Matthew?!” Jim couldn’t hold back. Usually he grinned and bore everything Matthew threw at him, but he had a temper too.
Seeing the scene before him unfold, the old man didn’t make any extraneous comment or expression.
He simply said coldly, “Both of you get out.”
“Grandpa…”
Louise heard those frigid words and saw the old man’s piercing gaze sweep the room, and her courage hammered away. If Grandpa really lost his temper, then…
Gunpowder seemed to hang in the air above the living room.
Still clutching at Alan’s elbow, Blanca felt his temper surge, and hurriedly smoothed him over. “Just let them go at it, Grandpa. They’re red-blooded young men and get impulsive when they talk, you know? I’m not taking anyone’s side, but you can’t blow your top, Grandpa! Can’t mess up your body after all.”
“Hah, you really do know how to charm, kid.” The old man was thoroughly pleased. He looked at the two again and said coldly, “Follow me up. I’ll write up your calligraphy. Let’s just ignore them!”
“Okay.”
Blanca looked at the two men, left out to dry. It was really only Jim staring down Matthew like a caged beast. Matthew was still sitting without any regard on his sofa.
His poise… never seemed to break.
The only time it did was probably over that dress…
Blanca tossed that out of her head and helped the old man upstairs.
She truly did cherish familial love. Being with the old man made her happier than she ever had been, until… the old man finished one set of script and Blanca was about to come out after closing the writing room door when Louise suddenly started squealing downstairs. “Oh no, oh no!”
“What is it now?”
Squawking like a parrot…
Blanca hated this sort of pampered young lady, screeching whenever anything happened. She pointed at the writing room and began, “Grandpa’s resting right now. If you wake him…”
“Come with me.”
Before Blanca could finish, Louise suddenly grabbed her wrist. Her palm was wet with sweat.
Blanca froze.
She rarely got in contact with other people. Much less this closely…
“What are you standing there for?” Louise’s forehead beaded with cold sweat. Her frantic expression didn’t seem to be fake. “Matthew and Jim are fighting! Go over there and check on them!”Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
After Blanca and Alan had gone up, the two had been knives out at each other. Matthew wasn’t giving Jim the time of day, but Jim had kept on provoking, and it had ended up like this…
