Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire

Chapter 228

Deep down, she knew better than anyone that whether or not they ended their marriage, this truth mattered to her more than anything. No one wanted to feel betrayed, and for Selena, her husband cheating and the other woman getting pregnant was the ultimate

humiliation.

Her greatest resentment towards Everett was exactly that.

Everett let out a soft laugh. His usual sharp and focused gaze now softened into a tipsy, puppy-like look.

He gazed at her intensely, his eyes brimming with affection. "It's not mine," he said.

He nuzzled against her cheek and neck, his voice carrying a subtle whine. "I told you. I never touched her. There's no one else, just you."

Those words hit her like a bolt of lightning.

So Everett hadn't cheated, and he wasn't responsible for Margot's pregnancy. Was Margot manipulating her all along?

Selena found it hard to wrap her mind around it. If there was nothing between them, why had Everett been so protective and partial towards Margot all these years?

Three long years, countless nights and days, he always chose Margot over her, leaving her heartbroken time and again.

Right now, she was burning for answers. She asked, almost breathlessly, "Everett, if the child isn't yours, and you never touched Margot, then what is going on between you two?" Her heart thudded in her chest, unsure of what his response would be.

But she didn't notice Everett's gaze heating up, his body pressing closely against hers, the warmth and alcohol fogging his senses. At that moment, all Everett wanted was her.

He tilted his head down, capturing her lips with a fierce kiss. Their mouths locked in a passionate dance.

Selena was livid, frustrated that Everett chose to be driven by desire and failed her when it mattered most!

She pinched his arm, hoping to snap him out of it, twisting her body to fend off his advances.

His hand suddenly gripped her, as if dissatisfied. "Relax, let me..."

Everett's voice was thick with impatience, rubbing against her, igniting little fires everywhere. Slowly, Selena found herself getting swept up in the heat. The bathroom was steamy, their faces blurred in the haze, adding to the charged atmosphere.

He whispered some blush-inducing sweet nothings in her ear, making Selena's legs go weak until she couldn't resist anymore. He scooped her up by the waist... Selena wrapped her arms around his neck, resting her chin on his shoulder.

The lights above flickered endlessly.

She had felt cold at first, but now she was overwhelmed with heat, nearly breathless.Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.

Everett wasn't rough like before; he was gentle, almost eager to please her. He used every trick in the book and Selena's desires soared

uncontrollably. At the peak ing

she

couldn't hold back and bit down on his shoulder.

Then, her mind went blank.

...

The next morning, Selena woke up feeling sore and tender, her face heating up as memories of last night's indulgence flooded back.

She glanced up to see Everett, casually draped in a robe, standing by the floor-to-ceiling windows, talking on the phone.

Even just his silhouette was captivating.

Selena shook her head quickly,

pushing away those thoughts, and remembered the question Everett hadn't answered last night. She needed to ask him again, especially since he had been drinking-what if it was just the booze talking?

She threw on a robe and slipped out of bed, shuffling over in her slippers to stand behind him. She wrapped her arms around him gently from behind. "Everett, I need to ask you something about last night..."
