Chapter 62
Chapter 62
Lianne and Liam were no longer needed by Zane’s side when he got together with his relatives and
friends. Thus, they had a chance to rest.
Lianne asked the waiter for a glass of juice, found an empty corner, and took off her 3-inch tall high
heels. She planned to rest while she could.
As soon as she sat down, she felt an unfriendly gaze.
She looked up and saw Cece.
Tonight, Cece was wearing a red evening gown, which was particularly dazzling in the crowd. Before
Zane arrived, many people thought Cece was the future Mrs. Atlas and surrounded her.
However, after Zane arrived, everyone’s eyes were on him and his assistant.
Cece’s eyes followed Zane the entire time, but Zane did not cast her a glance. Instead, he looked at
Lianne by his side from time to time.
Cece thought Lianne was inferior to her in every aspect. Lianne was just an assistant, so why could
she stay by Zane’s side the entire night and enjoy everyone’s admiring gaze?
The huge disparity made Cece furious. When she saw Lianne walking off on her own, she followed her.
Cece sat next to Lianne, raised her foot, and rubbed her ankle while she commanded arrogantly,” Ms.
Simpson, my foot hurts. Get me a glass of juice.”
Lianne ignored her and continued to sip her glass of juice.
Cece, who had always been pampered by everyone, had never been neglected before. She raised her
hand and slapped away the glass in Lianne’s hand. “Little b*tch, are you deaf?”
Lianne grabbed Cece’s wrist, leaned closer to her, and whispered in her ear, “Ms. Graham, who are
you to order me around?”
Cece was stunned by Lianne’s attitude and said, “You’re just an assistant who serves people. Why are
you holding me? I can kick you out of Rosewood anytime!”
Yet another person who wanted Lianne to leave Rosewood!
Lianne smiled. “I’m Mr. Atlas’s assistant, so I only do things for Mr. Atlas. If you want to order me
around, please work hard to become Mr. Atlas’s wife first. When the time comes, I’ll even carry your
shoes for you.”
Cece wanted to retort, but out of the corner of her eye, she saw Zane standing a few steps behind
them.
Cece trembled slightly and quickly thought of a solution.
She blinked. Big teardrops rolled down from the corners of her eyes. “Lianne, I promise not to show up
in front of Zane anymore. Please let me go. My wrist hurts so much…”
Without looking, Lianne guessed that someone must be around them, and it was most likely Zane.
Llanne turned around. Sure enough, she saw Zane standing not far behind them with his hands folded
across his chest, as if he were watching a good show.
Llanne let go of Cece. “Mr. Atlas…”
“Zane…” Cece sniffled pitifully. “Don’t blame Lianne. She didn’t hit me on purpose…”
Lianne was speechless.
She thought Cece was a strong contender, but she did not expect Cece to be so weak. How
boring!
“Of course I won’t blame Lianne. So what if she hits you on purpose? You should be glad you didn’t hit Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
her, or else…” Zane glanced at Cece’s right hand and lit a cigarette slowly.
Zane had just said one sentence, but the amount of information in it was huge. Cece’s face turned pale
with fright, and she subconsciously hid her right hand behind her back.
“Cece, the game is about to start. Why did you come here?” Nancy came at the right time. Seeing that
Zane and Lianne were there, she smiled sweetly. “Hi, Zane! Hi, Lianne!”
Zane continued smoking and ignored Nancy.
