Chapter 600 The First Apology in Life
Chapter 600 The First Apology in Life
The moment Caleb tore the package open, his comrades started teasing him from all sides. “Wow,
that’s a nice package! Did your girlfriend mail this to you? She must have been broken-hearted when
she heard about your fractured bone.”
When the word ‘girlfriend’ was mentioned, the first person that popped into Caleb’s mind was Clarissa.
However, he couldn’t be sure if she was the sender.
Later on, one of his comrades told him that someone was looking for him outside. Caleb was stunned
for a moment before hope flared up in his heart. ‘Could that be the sender?’
He walked out of the campsite and saw Connie standing there, which made him rather disappointed.
“Hey, Connie,” he greeted listlessly.
When Connie noticed Caleb’s arm being wrapped in bandages, she asked anxiously, “What happened
to your arm?”
“I accidentally got hurt during training. Were you the one who mailed me bone broth and chicken
soup?” Caleb asked.
Connie thought, ‘I just found out that Caleb got injured, so there’s no way I’m the sender. Besides, it’s
bad to claim credit for this package since the lie can be easily exposed. When that time comes, Caleb’s
impression of me will worsen a lot more.’
“Nope,” she replied. “Where did the package come from?”
“Genovia.”
“Genovia? Then it must be Clarissa. I can’t think of anyone else other than her.” Connie knew the
reason she came back this time was to get closer to Clarissa, so naturally, she needed to come up with
an excuse to talk to Clarissa. Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
“Oh. I haven’t asked her that yet,” Caleb said.
Ever since Caleb was drafted into the army, he rarely talked to Clarissa via Whatsapp. After all, his
decision to become a soldier was more or less caused by her. Then again, if Clarissa really was the
sender, he would feel both flattered and frightened at the same time.
Connie was here to visit Caleb. She found out that he was busy with training, so he most likely didn’t
have time to find himself a girlfriend. Hence, she was slightly reassured.
After that, she flew back to Genovia.

“Do you know that Connie likes Caleb a lot? I’m worried she might influence him to go to the dark side,”
Clarissa said worriedly. “There’s a high chance Connie doesn’t know about the existence of a
formidable opponent like you. Also, she’s a vile and nasty heart. I hope she doesn’t claim to Caleb that
she’s the one who bought those things. Otherwise, you’d have given her a perfect opportunity to show
off her good side to Caleb.”
“Don’t worry about it! I’ve already told Caleb a long time ago that I was the sender in order to avoid
making him feel stressed out. I also bought medicinal broth that could heal and strengthen his bones
for him. If Connie claimed she bought all those things, she’d be in for a huge surprise.”
Clarissa giggled in response.
After both of them were done with the clean-up, Bethany changed her expression into a grim one
almost immediately before exiting the room to talk to Damien.
Clarissa remained on the bed the whole time.
“Mr. Lawrence, you should go speak with Clarissa. I’m done with the procedure on her, so take it easy.”
Bethany glared at Damien angrily. She looked like she wanted to say more, but decided not to. All in
all, she looked pretty furious with Damien.
“Okay.” Damien then entered the room.
Clarissa lay on the bed quietly.
The moment Damien entered the room, he grabbed her hand tightly. “Are you alright?”
Clarissa just ignored him with her head turned aside, choosing to not say anything. Then, she started
wiping her tears away before she opened her mouth. “The baby’s yours, but I got rid of it because you
told me you married Chanel. Since there’s no point in me having the baby, I might as well abort it.
Chanel came all the way here to ask me who the baby’s father is, but I didn’t dare to tell her the truth,
so I could only gloss over it with lies. But you also told me that your marriage with her is a fake one.
Why would you keep lying to me over and over again?”
Clarissa’s waterworks were turned on again and she wept pitifully, “If you two want to get married, then
just do it. If not, then just leave. On one hand, you have a complicated relationship with her, but on the
other hand, you insist on roping me into your tangled mess and making me the third wheel in your
marriage. I…”
Damien clutched Clarissa’s hand tightly. “It’s all my fault.”
This was probably his first time apologizing to anyone in his life.
