Love At The Wrong Table

Love at the 1977

Shane immediately recognized her. It was Lady Rosa, the sister of the Snake

Master.

With a playful grin, Lady Rosa asked, “Can you guess who I am?”

Shane was stumped; he had no clue unless she revealed it. Santiago, on the

other hand, smiled knowingly. He had recognized Lady Rosa long ago,

especially since she’d stopped by to see him at Hero’s Village. That was why

he had directed the intoxicated butterfly to lead Emmanuel to Mackenzie.

Yet, Santiago was too excited to catch up with an old friend to fill Shane in on

this.

Meanwhile, Gwain and his group were meandering through the Magnolia

Theater. They didn’t really want to linger, but Gwain had just faced an

unexpected loss, and his spirits were all over the place.

He thought, I’ve always held my own against Envoy Ash and Xarri, but today I

got wholly crushed! What a disgrace!

Sensing Gwain’s gloom, Hank and Wyatt stayed silent and trailed behind him.

Out of nowhere, a guy riding a tiger appeared before them, catching them

off guard!

The trio had once felt unbeatable, especially Gwain. In Ancient Woods, he

boldly proclaimed himself the top fighter, proudly calling himself Southern

Lannister. However, his confidence plummeted after facing several tough

opponents and suffering a defeat. Seeing a man on a fierce tiger was

enough to shake him.

“What… what do you want?” Hank probed quickly, his voice a bit shaky.

“Nothing important.” The guy looked at Gwain, disappointed on his face,

before turning the tiger to leave.

Gwain’s pride couldn’t take even a trace of disrespect. The guy’s dismissive

look felt like a dagger to his heart.

“Hey, wait!” Gwain called out indifferently.

He then asked, “Who are you? What gives you the right to hang out in the

Magnolia Theater? Are you one of Maestro Moretti’s special guests today?

The guy turned back to face him, his expression unbothered as he replied,

“I’m Yorick Dotson.”

“Huh?!” The three of them were taken aback even further.

“Seriously?! You’re Yorick Dotson?! The one who came down from Shoiya and

took down half of Chanaea’s martial artists in a month?” Wyatt exclaimed,

realizing they should’ve recognized him sooner.

The guy on the tiger was none other than the Savage Martial Saint, who had

vanished for years.

“Claiming I swept through half of Chanaea is a bit much, but I take down 114

martial artists, including four sect leaders, twenty–four grandmasters, and

eighty–six so–called kings of fists, legs, palms, spears, and swords!” Yorick

replied, sounding completely serious.

“You came here to challenge me?” Gwain asked, his voice icy.

Yorick responded, “Exactly. I’ve heard the top fighters in Chanaea are the

Northern Wolf Warrior and Southern Lannister. Now that I’ve met you, I want to

see how I stack up against the best.”

Gwain pressed, “Then why did you look disappointed earlier?”

Yorick explained, “Because I don’t think you’re my equal. I knew your grandpa,

and it doesn’t feel right to bully a friend’s kid.”

Hank and Wyatt exchanged concerned glances, worried that Gwain might

snap.

Gwain was frantic. “Ugh! Don’t portray me as weak! Today, I’m here to

represent Chanaea’s martial artists and take you down, you Shoiya fighter!”

He drew his Noble Sword and unleashed a move, “Sundown Slash.” The intent

to kill was chilling.

Gwain was dead serious about this fight. He believed that taking down this

haughty martial artist from Shoiya was the only way to restore his honor and

erase the disgrace of his recent defeat.

Hank and Wyatt watched in awe. They thought, If Mr. Gwain pulled off this

final move earlier, he might not have faced such a crushing defeat.

His first move was Hawk Slash. The Noble Sword sliced through the air like a

tidal wave, striking perfectly.

Yorick easily pulled back on his tiger, dodging the attack with ease.

Wyatt and Hank were captivated, realizing that Yorick saw no flaws in this

strike. They inwardly remarked that his speed was incredible, and his steed

was impressively agile, making it evident that even Gwain couldn’t keep up.
