Let's Get A Divorce, Mr. CEO

Chapter 23: Bring Your Wife To Our Family Mansion

Chapter 23: Bring Your Wife To Our Family Mansion

For the first time, Linda had the courage to look Cecil straight in his eyes.

"If I were happy to marry you like this, it would be an insult to my love." Cecil scoffed.

"It seems you are not that spineless." Linda didn't answer, feeling a lump in her throat.

The two of them fell into a tense silence.

About ten minutes later, Cecil's phone rang.

He glanced at the caller ID before answering the call.

"Mom."

On the other side, Anita Qi said coldly, "Cecil, bring your wife to our family mansion."

Cecil immediately felt that something was wrong.

"What's the matter?"

"Just do as I say."

"Okay."

Cecil hung up the phone and took a deep breath before ordering the driver to go to the Bo family's mansion.

Linda's head jerked around in shock.

"Why...Why are we going there now?" she stammered.

Cecil glanced at her with an inexplicable expression, but didn't say anything.

Although she wasn't familiar enough with him to read his emotions, Linda had a bad feeling.

Half an hour later, the car stopped outside the Bo family's mansion.

Linda and Cecil got out of the car one after another.

Cecil naturally took the lead, while Linda nervously followed behind.

As soon as the two of them entered the mansion, Anita, who was sitting in the living room, stood up from the sofa and looked over Cecil's shoulder at Linda.

When the two of them approached, she directly walked past her son without a second glance and stood in front of Linda with resentment shining in her eyes.

Biting her lower lip, Linda summoned up enough courage to call, "Mom..."

Crack!

A loud slap resounded through the living room, where Kirk Bo, Cecil's father; Aimee Bo, the foster daughter of Cecil's uncle; and a few servants were also present.

Linda subconsciously brought up her hand to cover her cheek. Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.

Wracked by guilt, she lowered her head and said nothing.

Seeing her reaction, Cecil frowned. He walked up to his mom and asked softly, "Mom, what are you doing?"

Anita snorted.

Pretending as if she hadn't heard Cecil, she asked all the servants in the living room to leave.

After all the servants had left, she turned back to Linda and curled her lips in disdain.

"How dare you call me 'Mom'? What the hell does the Ye family think about us? They dared to find a woman who looks just like the bride to replace her?"

Linda hadn't expected this, but she wasn't that surprised, either.

The whole Bo family had many resources at their disposal.

Cecil's mother could have easily arranged a servant in his house to relay everything that was going on there to her.

Cecil's face darkened, but he didn't say anything for the time being.

Aimee, who was sitting on the sofa, silently looked back and forth between Anita and Linda like she was watching a tennis match.

Finally, Kirk looked at Anita and opened his mouth to speak.

"Come and sit down, dear."

Over the years, Kirk had built up the sort of imposing manner that only a business mogul was capable of.

Although he only said a few calm words, the temperature in the room seemed to drop by several degrees.

Even Anita didn't dare to talk back to him.

She just glared at Linda before taking a seat next to Kirk.

From the second that Linda had been slapped by his mother, Cecil hadn't been able to take his eyes off of her.

At the moment, she had her head lowered with an unreadable expression on her face, but he could tell that she was suppressing her emotions.

He raised his hand and pinched the skin between his eyebrows in frustration.

"Cecil, come and sit down," Kirk called out.

"Yes, Dad,"

Cecil answered softly. Then, he dragged Linda to the sofa and made her sit next to him.
