Chapter 30: Poison of Past
Chapter 30: Poison of Past
I blinked 3 times as I count the time in my head. I started the shopping at 5 pm and it's almost 11 pm.
But then I stopped thinking to the fact that why would I bother explaining to him my whereabouts? I am
single and he's not someone important to me.
Yes yes, Neysha. Stop that you don't have to get intimidated from him.
“Why do you care. I will rest now.” I said and walked while my hands full of paper bags.
“What did you buy?” He asked.
I turned to him annoyingly and was about to answer him but I realized what I just bought and he's here.
I can definitely hear my heart pounding so fast right now.
“My clothes.” I said. I gulped too trying to hide my nervousness.
“Stop lying. The guards said you kept on collecting children’s clothes and toys.” He said like a thunder
to my ears.
I am nervous. I don't want him to know, but I guess I can still provide a very nice reason, right?
“I have a..a monthly charity event. I will give these to the children.” I said, trying to calm myself.
“Charity event with such brands?” He asked again.
He stood up and walked to my direction.
“Daryl can we talk tomorrow? I'm so tired already.” I tried to stop him from walking at my direction. Oh,
come on!
“Let me see them.” He whispered huskily.
I don't know if that's adrenaline that I stepped back rapidly. Making my back hit the flower table.
“Why would you want to see these things?!” I said, trying to intimidate him by my voice.
He knotted his head and licked his lower lip.
“Don't be angry, I just want to see.” He said, making me more annoyed.
“Can you respect my privacy?” I said and stand straight. I looked like a scared brat right now.
He smirked and walked even closer to me.
“I just want to see. Can't I?” He pushed.
I rolled my eyes and walked to the room. I can feel that he's walking with me too. I just let him and put
all the paper bags on the bed.
“What are you doing here again?” I asked.
“I will sleep here.” He said as if it was nothing.
I turned to him and looked at him with sharp eyes. “Daryl this is not good. You have a wife and it is not
invisible that they can't even look at us because they knew something is wrong!”
But the dimwit didn't payed attention to what I was saying. He went to the bed and opened some of my
paper bags.
“Daryl put that down!” This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.
But I am late. He already pulled up the two varsity uniforms, Blue and Red.
“Whom will you give these?” He asked, a little bit serious now.
I looked away, trying to compose my shaking self. I look tough from my expressions, but this topic is
making me so weak.
I sighed “Charity, I said.”
“Charities have more than 50 children, and you will only give 2 kids? Is that favoritism?” He mumbled.
I gulped and this time, I looked at his eyes. “I still have lots of things right there to give.” I explained.
He turned to those ‘things’ I've mentioned and opened them again.
“Still the same. 2 remote cars, 2 pair of shoes, 2 shirts and 2 other toys?” He said and looked at me
with sharp eyes.
“These looks like they belong to ages between 4-5.” He added.
I gulped and put my shaking hands behind me. I don't want him to see that I'm shaking. That I'm
intimidated. That I'm scared.
“Tell me, Neysha. Do you have something I don't know?”
That was like a thunder to my ears. I'm so scared to the fact that he's asking me. No one knows about
my children. It's not because I'm protecting my image or I'm ashamed to show them to others. But
because of this fact. I want to hide them from him, I want to hide them from their father.
“You have no rights to ask me that kind of question, Daryl. You are nothing to me.” I said bluntly.
I saw that pain crossed his face the moment he heard me say those.
“What?” He asked slowly, but seriously.
“You are nothing to me. You have no rights to ask me some private questions about my life. I didn't
even ask you why you bullshit me years ago, right?” I said, now I'm breathing heavily.
He stepped closer, quickly.
He grabbed my wrist and pinned me to the wall.
“What do you want to know so that I can have the fucking rights you said a while ago?” He whispered
darkly.
His breathing is heavy, his aura becomes darker, it seems like he's angry.
His grip on my wrist is a bit strong, it hurting me.
“It's hurting me!” I mumbled.
His grip a little bit loosen. “Tell me.” He whispered in my ear.
“Nothing.” I whispered too.
I just realized it now, what I just told him is not what I supposed to say. I can't let him know that what
happened years ago still haunts me. This is not good.
“I'm sorry.” He whispered on my ear and he fell back on my shoulder.
There's a moment of silence between us. I let him rest on my shoulders and his hands pinned on the
wall, cornering me.
“I know it's my fault. But I'm trying. I’m really trying to win your heart, to win your trust, to win you...
again.”
