Chapter 645
Lisa couldn't help but feel a wave of smug satisfaction wash over her. She was convinced that Chloe was just green with envy the last time she saw her flashing that invitation. So, of course, Chloe had to crash the event without one, hoping to ride on the coattails of the Sartori family's prestige.
Lisa, with a smug grin and her invitation in hand, sauntered over. "Chloe, seriously? You think you can just waltz in here without an invite and not make a fool of yourself? This isn't your backyard, you know."
Chloe gave Lisa a quick glance but didn't bother engaging. Instead, she calmly told the waiter, "I'm pretty sure the QUEEN's jewelry exhibition doesn't actually need an invitation. Maybe you should double-check with your manager."
And she was right. The exhibition had already logged all the invited guests into their system, so physical invites were more for show-a bit of pomp and circumstance, really. The waiter, a dashing fellow roped in at the last minute, had replaced the original one who'd been whisked away by an enthusiastic guest.
After a quick call to his manager, the waiter returned, all apologies, and ushered Chloe and Connor inside. At the door, a scanning system verified invited guests, allowing them to breeze right in. Chloe, with Connor on her arm, did just that.
Lisa watched this unfold, momentarily stunned before her frustration bubbled over. Chloe had actually gotten in! No doubt, thanks to Connor. Fueled by indignation, Lisa marched up, reluctantly handed her invitation to the waiter, and tried to follow suit.
But as she stepped forward, an alarm blared. The waiter stepped in quickly, "I'm sorry, miss, you can't go in."
Chloe, just a few steps inside, turned

back at the noise. Lisa, now utterly baffled and embarrassed, stood there, unsure of what went wrong. Chloe, with a smug smile, coolly remarked, "Lisa, your invitation isn't fake, is it?" She chuckled lightly before turning away.

Of course, Chloe knew Lisa's invitation was legit, but the waiter was clueless about the unwritten rule that invites could be passed around. Chloe's comment was bound to stir up trouble. Lisa had dressed to impress today, eager to be the center of attention, and Chloe was more than happy to let her have it, just not in the way Lisa had hoped.
Lisa's face burned with anger. She wanted to lash out at Chloe but was painfully aware of the need to maintain her composure in such a high-class setting. Claire's invitation couldn't possibly be fake, she thought.Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.
However, the waiter, taking Chloe's words to heart, was firm. Impersonating a guest was serious business, especially after a previous incident involving a jewel thief and a stolen invite. He wasn't budging, even threatening to call the authorities.
The ruckus at the entrance had drawn a crowd, with international guests watching the scene unfold, pointing and whispering. Lisa felt utterly humiliated and started to argue fiercely with the waiter.
"Take a good look! This invitation was personally given to me by Claire, the Sartori Corporation's heiress. How could it be fake? By keeping me out, you're crossing Claire. Can you handle that kind of fallout?"
The waiter, caught in a tough spot, finally called over Mr. McDonald, the event organizer. Mr. McDonald quickly appeared, and Lisa wasted? no time voicing her frustration. "Is this how you treat your guests? Can't you tell if my invitation is real? Do you even know who I am? If you don't let me in now, I won't come in later, even if you beg!"
