Damian’s Obsession

38

When Damian and Grey had left for the balcony to have a conversation, I sat down on the bed and waited patiently for him to be through with his conversation because I still had some questions for him.

I had the urge to go eavesdrop on what they were talking about but I held myself back because I knew it was really rude to do so and Damian would be upset with me. He is already angry enough as it is.

After waiting for some minutes, my butt started to feel stiff so I stood up. I decided to change my outfit because it had started to make me feel really uncomfortable so I walked to the wardrobe.

I opened it and was about to pick out an outfit when something glowing, hidden between our clothes caught my eyes. I became curious about what it was so I adjusted the clothes that were blocking it from my view.

It was a device strapped with a tape to the wall. There was something like a watch on the screen and it made a beeping sound anytime it was counting down. Wait… it was counting down.

My eyes widened in fear when I realized when it was and I screamed out. My loud shriek attracted Damian and Grey so they came rushing to where I was.

“What’s wrong?” He asked with me worry written all over his face.

“L…. look.” I stuttered as she pointed at the wardrobe shakily.

His face went pale when he saw what I was pointing at. It was as if his soul had almost left his body but Grey was quick to react.

“It’s going to explode. We need to leave now.” Grey said when he saw the bomb.

Damian grabbed my hands and pulled me with him out of the penthouse while Grey trailed closely behind us. We entered into the elevator and pressed the button for the down floor.

We got to the lobby and were about to leave the building when the bomb went off. I screamed in shock as bowed my head and covered my ears in fear when I heard the loud sound.

No way. I can’t die yet. I’m just twenty-four years old. I’m still too young to die now. I didn’t even know when I started reciting the Lord’s Prayer.© NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

Damian instinctively covered my ear so she wouldn’t hear the sound anymore.

The people around us all screamed in panic and ran away in fear. Luckily, the bomb only went off in the penthouse so we at the lobby were safe. Damian held me and we walked out of the hotel.

We were followed and guarded by his guards that escorted us to the hotel before.

When we had finally gotten to a safe place, in front of a café close to the hotel, Damian’s phone rang. Anger was written all over his face as he listened to the person on the other end.

“You’ll pay for this Mark.” Damian muttered in anger.

Who’s Mark?? I wanted to ask but I knew that that was not the right time for such questions. Besides, I don’t need to know everything as it was none of my business.

The call ended and another one entered again. His expression this time was different. It was like he had heard some bad news because all the color on his face had drained. He had suddenly become pale.

His phone fell from his hands while the call was still ongoing. It seemed like he was in a state of shock. I don’t know if it was just me but I saw pain and fear flashed through his eyes. I had never seen Damian like this before.

“Damian, what’s wrong??” I asked in concern but he ignored me.

“We nee to leave now. Grey, call a chauffeur.” He ordered.

“Already on it boss.” Grey answered.

“Where are we going?” I asked.

“Back home.” Damian answered curtly.

Home?? So soon??

I didn’t argue with him even though I wanted to. We were bound to leave at one time but I didn’t know it would be this soon. Our vacation didn’t even last two days.

“Instead of you to be happy you didn’t die in that explosion, you are being sad about some stupid vacation. How pathetic.” My inner woman said.

I wanted to argue but I figured she was right. I just went through a near death experience but I’m still thinking about some vacation. I must be really crazy.

If only someone didn’t plant a bomb in our room. Come to think of it, who could have dared to plant a bomb in pour room. Only Damian owned the key card.

Now that I think of it, Grey was inside the room when we came in. How was he able to enter without Damian’s keycard?? He was inside since, how come he didn’t even notice anything weird?? Even I didn’t at first but still, something felt really fishy. Something was wrong somewhere. I raised my eyes to stare at Grey, he was pressing his phone.

I didn’t know if my eyes were playing him games with me but I saw him smirk when he took a very short glance at Damian. Damian obviously didn’t notice when he did that because he was busy being restless.

It seemed really suspicious because only Grey was in our well secured room, and now, we almost had a near death incident but he was smirking.

What am I doing right now?? This is Grey who has been with Damian for a very long time. He is Damian’s most trusted servant. Why the hell am I suspecting him??

I must have watched to much action movies because they are making me distort movies and reality. Something must be really wrong with me. But something didn’t really feel right. I could feel it in my heart that something was wrong somewhere but I couldn’t pin point what it was.

Also, I had no right to suspect Grey who has always been loyal to Damian.

“When is the chauffeur coming??” Damian asked Grey impatiently.

“They are almost here.” Grey answered.

“Why aren’t they here now??” he asked again angrily.

“Calm down Damian, no need to make a scene. Grey just said they would be here soon so relax.” I muttered as I tried to calm him down.

He didn’t say anything again and waited.

I have never seen him this restless, mad and impatient before. It seemed that the call he had just received was some devastating news.

After waiting for some minutes, two cars stopped in front of us. Damian and I entered the Jeep while Grey and the rest of the guards entered the SUV. Then the cars, zoomed off to the airport immediately.

The plane had already landed and we were headed home. I increased my pace as I tried to match the speed of Damian. How come he is this fast?? We sat down next to each other in the car. It was so silent so I decided to just look out the window. Then I noticed we were not on the route home.

“Where are we going?” I asked but my question was met with silence.

The car finally stopped in front of a hospital and Damian walked out of the car in a hurry. What’s going on?? I didn’t waste time and followed closely behind him.

He entered into the VIP ward and walked into a room. I gasped in shock when I found out who he rushed to meet.

I saw Felix lying motionlessly on the bed with bandages covering most of his body. What happened to him??
