Katrina held Kylan's hand as they walked to the car, her veins still pulsing warmly from the wine traveling through her body. They stood close together, allowing the strangely relaxed mood to continue as Kylan opened her door for her and she climbed inside. She found she wasn't nervous for a moment, sitting in the car next to Kylan, a comfortable silence still surrounding the both of them. She almost forgot all about having to share a bed with her boss at all.
That was until kylan pulled the car up to the valet at the hotel and she found herself staring at the red brick building, her throat suddenly going completely dry. She needed water. She needed air. She needed to be calm.
She tried to recall any earlier resolve she may have been able to find about the entire situation, but she found exactly none.
The wine she drank now felt like a vice gripping her heart, as it surely only furled the anxiety springing to life inside her.
She realized Rylan had been waiting for her to take his hand, and she smiled at him nervously, accepting the gesture and allowing him to guide her into the hotel lobby
Kylan himself seemed perfectly calm, not a hint of apprehension reading on his face. Maybe this wasn't a big deal? Maybe it really would be fine Maybe there was nothing to truly be nervous about?
She watched Kylan press the button to call the elevator and she focused on her breathing while she waited for the doors to pull open.
Jeez
Had the lobby been this warm a few hours ago!
She snuck another glance at Kylan, frowning when she saw he still seemed wholly unaffected by any and all awkwardness that would accompany sharing a bed with her
How did he even sleep anyway! Shin and sweatpants! Shorts and no shirt? Oh God, he wouldn't sleep in the nude, would he?
This was different. Real. Not something she was able to approach from a professional perspective. It wasn't possible, not when she knew that she could have easily gotten two rooms. Hell, she could have even reserved a room that housed two beds instead of one, And yet. Kylan had insisted on one room and one bed. And furthermore, she agreed,
Was it because Kylan was her boss, and she didn't feel like she could say no? Or was it because she didn't truthfully mind the idea of sharing a bes with him
No. That was ridiculous. Ridiculous and foolish, a slippery slope of a thought process to allow h

She was certain her hand was sweaty in Rylan's hold, and she fought the urge to pull away from him entirely. He led her into the elevator, pressing the button for the third floor and then shifting to look down at her
"Why are you fidgeting so much, Kate?" Kylan deadpanned, the low baritone of his voice coming across far more intensely in the privacy of the elevator
She met his gaze, her eyes a fraction too wide. She hadn't realized she'd outwardly been restless in the first place and wasn't at all prepared to be called out on it.

Sorry.

Sir. I mean Kylar. 1-I'm sorry, Kylan. With every fumbled word that left her laps, she could feel herself internally shrinking away more

Kylan eyed her impassively now, almost every previous hint of warmth washing away fr
"You better not squirm around like that in bed. I have a hard enough time sleeping as it he grumbled at her, the doors to the elevator opening again seconds later
She walked out with him, her hand still in his
"Did you bring your sleeping medication, Kylan?" she asked, watching as he fished the room key from his pocket with his free hand and passed it over the small metal box that sat just above the door handle. A brici flash of green on the bus indicated that the door could be opened, and kylan pushed his way inside. licked on just as they had the first time she entered the suite, and she awkwardly dropped Kylan's hand, her own hand

She bent down to slip off her flats, one hand propped up on a nearby wall to help keep her balance. She saw as Kylan did the same and then he peeled off his leather jacket, draping it over his arm as he watched her take off her own coatContent © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
"I told you that shit doesn't work. Kylan finally responded deftly..
She felt herself roll her eyes at him and blamed it on the alcohol in her system. "And I told you that only taking half a dose for two days, isn't enough time for her body to even get used to the help. She brushed by him, walked into the bedroom, and then into the closet, hanging up her jacket on one of the spare hangers. She felt a presence behind her and turned around, realizing Kylan was right there and also hanging up his jacket
He walked around her, noticeably closer while he grabbed a pair of sweatpants from a shelf. Had the closet been this small earlier? She shivered, licking her lips, and also finding a pair of her shorts and a long-sleeved t-shirt.
"I don't need medication to help me sleep. Dr. Brown prescribed me that shit because she wouldn't shut the fuck Kylan began to pull his shirt off with her still in the closet, and she really wasn't prepared to see all of that again. up to him about my insomniaTM
So instead, she shuffled out and into the bathroom instead, clicking the door shut behind her. "Someone needed to tell him the truth. If you didn't want me to interject my opinion, you shouldn't have had me go with you to your check-up." She spoke loud enough that he could hear her through the closed door while she changed into her pajamas. She hesitated when she got to her bra, wondering if she should keep it on. She never slept with: one on at home, but now it felt almost inappropriate to take it off. So, she kept it in place. Kylan didn't respond and she assumed that meant the conversation w
was over. She opened the door, her dress and tights bundled up in her hands. She gasped, realizing he was standing right there yet again, his arms folded across his. Oh. His naked chest. He was only wearing his sweatpants. Sweatpants that hung low on his hips.
