Chasing Back My Ex-wife

Chapter 18

Chapter 18

"You are smart." Arthur frowned imperceptibly.

If he threatened her like that, he would only make her feel even more disgusted. But if he didn't threaten her, she would do everything it took to get away from him... He couldn't afford that! Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

Lucy turned away and stopped looking at him, letting bitterness overwhelm her. Regardless if it was five years before or five years later, he always had the final say!

Her resistance towards Arthur made him feel annoyed like never before. He pursed his lips and walked out.

Soon, she was the only person left in the office. She looked around that familiar yet alien room. In the past, she was not even allowed to come in here!

"Arthur!"

At that moment, followed by a delicate shout, Lizbeth hurried into the office in a light yellow dress.

When she saw Lucy, the smile on her face gradually disappeared. "Who...who are you?"

Wasn't Lucy dead? Why was she standing there?

"If I remember correctly, we're the same age, aren't we? Why, has Alzheimer's gotten to you first?" Lucy put her hands on the desk and smiled prettily.

Her smile provoked Lizbeth, and Lizbeth stomped to her, raised her hand, and slapped Lucy. "How

dare you cling to Arthur so shamelessly? Get lost! Get lost right now!"

If it weren't for Lucy, Arthur would have dated Lizbeth long ago!

If it weren't for Lucy, Arthur would have dated Lizbeth long ago!

Lizbeth's slap was hard, and Lucy felt her cheek burn with pain. She tasted blood in her mouth.

Smack!

Lucy stood up slowly, and without hesitation, slapped Lizbeth back on her prettily made-up face.

"How dare you slap me?" Lizbeth cupped her cheek. Tears streamed down her face from the pain while she was in disbelief.

Lucy laughed scornfully. "You slapped me, so why can't I slap you? Oh, by the way, let me make this clear. I'm not clinging to Arthur, he's the one clinging to me."

Ever since she had married Arthur, Lizbeth had caused her trouble countless times.

In the past, she had been afraid to provoke Arthur, so she had held back. But now...hah!

"I don't believe you!" Lizbeth jabbed her finger at Lucy in a rage. "Arthur said before that you got into his pants while he was drunk, and that's why he married you! You're obviously the one who's clinging to Arthur!"

"It's your business to believe it or not." Lucy was smiling sweetly, but her heart felt as though it was

being torn apart.

Even if she had said countless times that she didn't care, it still hurt like hell when an old wound got reopened.

Lizbeth had some more to say, but she was cut off by a frigid voice——

"What are you doing here?"

Arthur came in holding a document.

Sunlight shone on him, bathing his handsome face in soft light. It made his hard features look more gentle.

Lizbeth bit her lip and burst into tears. "Arthur, I came to your office to see you. But when I arrived, she slapped me. My cheek hurts so much!"

She brushed her long hair aside and showed him the swelling on her face.

Lucy hadn't held back and Lizbeth's cheek was swollen badly. The red hand mark on her cheek was very obvious in contrast to her fair skin.

Arthur frowned a little. The smell of her perfume was too heavy, and Arthur felt choked. He walked to Lucy and said, "I've told you long ago that I only treat her like my sister. You don't have to get jealous."

"Heh!" Lucy laughed coldly and did not explain herself.

Every time something happened, he would never ask for the details. He would just put all the blame on her after hearing what others had to say!

Jealous? Who put him on a pedestal?
