Not only had she made such a humiliating scene, but now she was also trying to make him lose. the lawsuit. She really had overestimated her ability!

"Fine, you've done well. I didn't realize you were spoiled to the point of being so unruly."

His wife now wielded the law against him? Castiel, who was usually calm and collected, now seemed entirely shrouded in darkness, offering her no warmth whatsoever. Niamh didn't care!

She turned away from him and reached for the door of the ward. Behind her, she heard him say dangerously, "Niamh, if you insist on this, don't blame me for being ruthless." Her hand paused on the door handle.Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.

Ruthless? Castiel, ruthless?

She scoffed inwardly. He hadn't even begun to show what real ruthlessness looked like. This was just the beginning.

Having been through it once, Niamh wasn't afraid of him. She simply threw over her shoulder, "Do as you wish, I'm ready anytime!"

With that, she pulled open the door and walked out, leaving Castiel behind, who was cloaked in cold fury.

Castiel stood in the dim light, contemplating. He didn't know his wife could change so drastically overnight.

Niamh walked out of the hospital room and ran into Sienna in the corridor, only then learning that Renee was staying at this hospital.

Upon seeing her, Sienna, out of habit, immediately launched into a tirade, 'Do you even have any sense of responsibility as the Jamison family's daughter-in-law? Mom's in the hospital, and you haven't shown up once." Niamh responded coldly, "Isn't it exactly what you've always wanted? For me to no longer be the Jamison family's daughter-in-law? So why are you using that title to pressure me now?"

"You-"Sienna's face flushed with anger.

Back when Niamh was with their mother to make things difficult for her. And at that time, Niamh never dared to fight

still living with the Jamisons, every time she visited, Sienna would team up back.

"Now look at you!" Sienna sneered.

Niamh responded with a cold laugh, entirely unbothered by the disdain in Sienna's eyes.

That look of disgust only fueled Sienna's growing fury, recalling the stinging remarks Niamh had made during their last meal together.

Niamh's eyes, filled with disdain and contempt, were unmistakable to Sienna, who naturally assumed Niamh was looking down on her for being an adopted daughter.

This only fueled Sienna's anger, making her words even sharper. "You're just an orphan. You should feel honored to be part of the Jamison family, but you don't even know how to appreciate it." This was Sienna's retort to Niamh's previous remarks.

Yes, Niamh was an orphan!

When Niamh first met Castiel, she still relied on community aid to get through school and cover her living expenses every month.

Thinking back to those days, life had indeed been hard. However, even that hardship paled in comparison to what she had endured as part of the Jamison family.

She no longer wanted to exchange words with Sienna. Now, speaking even a single sentence to anyone from the Jamison family felt like a waste of time.

Just as she was about to step away, Castiel and a doctor rushed past her with such speed that they might even stir up a gust of wind.

Niamh's eyes followed Castiel's hurried, slender figure as he rushed ahead, his tone sharp with concern. "What's going on? Why is there an infection?" "We've been monitoring Ms. Duncan closely. The infection was unforeseen."

Ms. Duncan?

Niamh froze on the spot. She had already witnessed Castiel lose his composure over Macy, and now seeing him like this again still made her heart ache.

From behind her, Sienna's mocking voice rang out, dripping with disdain. "See that? My brother doesn't care about you anymore."

Niamh turned her gaze toward Sienna, who looked smug with satisfaction.

Niamh smirked mockingly as she said, "You're right, but he definitely doesn't care about you either. Seems like you can't even take advantage of being so close with him."

"You... You're unbelievable!" Sienna glared at Niamh but was unable to come up with a retort.

Her eyes darkened with malice as she stared at her. She hadn't expected Niamh to have such a venomous tongue, nor would Niamh appear unfazed, even turning into a defensive porcupine in the process.
