Chapter 38
Chapter 38
Emma stood defiantly, facing Alex’s accusations head–on. She had long given up on explaining her
relationship with Morgan to him. Their marriage, marred by mistrust and disappointment, had left her
weary and uninterested in his demands for answVEN,
Alex, feeling the sting of Emma’s indifference, confronted her with a mix of anger and confusion,” So,
you think you owe me no explanation? What role did he play in our marriage? Was he the reason for
our divorce? What do you gain from being with him over me?”
Emma replied with a bitter laugh, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “And what did being with you bring
me? Your obsession with Bella, the constant marital strife, your lack of seriousness. Why should

Alex, taken aback by her harsh words, fiued. “You’re turning this on me? How can you be so blind to
your own faults?”
Emma’s frustration boiled over. “My faults? Look at yourself, Alex! You never dealt with your Issues with
Bella. You’re quick to judge but never self–reflect. Why do you think we ended up divorced? You lack
any self–awareness!”
Pushing him away, Emma walked over to Morgan, deliberately wrapping an arm around her waist as
they made their exit.
Morgan and Jada glanced back at Alex, smirking at his evident agitation. “You really know how to get
under Alex’s skin,” Morgan remarked. “But why did he come after you? Because of me?”
Emma nodded, explaining the situation. “Nathan must have taken that photo and sent it to Alex, making
him believe you were the ‘other‘ in our marriage. That’s what set him off.”
Morgan scoffed at the absurdity. “Alex was the unfaithful one, yet he tries to pin the blame on you.”
Jada, joining in, rolled her eyes. “Typical Alex. Always projecting his faults onto others, never owning Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

Emma agreed, her tone a mix of resignation and bitterness. “That’s why I didn’t bother with him. He
can’t even handle his own mess with Bella and yet he thinks he has any right to question me. We’re
divorced; I owe him nothing.”
As they got into their cars, the women continued discussing Alex’s actions, unaware of the brewing
storm caused by Nathan’s photos.
The next morning, Emma’s phone was inundated with
lls from Wayne, which roused her from sleep. “What’s this about online rumors targeting you?” he
asked, concerned.
Emma, groggy and confused, struggled to understand. “Rumors? What rumors?” She sat up in bed.
Wayne explained the situation, his voice tinged with worry. “There are posts online about you being

intimately involved with another man, claiming that’s why Alex divorced you. Public opinion is turning
against you.
“What?”
Realization dawned on Emma as she checked her phone. The posts twisted the narrative, insinuating
an inappropriate relationship between her and Morgan during her marriage.
Emma laughed bitterly. “Nathan’s handiwork, no doubt. He’s trying to paint me in a bad light, but
it’s baseless.”
Wayne, still on the line, asked, “Do you need help handling this?”
“No,” Emma replied confidently. “It’s not as bad as it seems. I’ve
got this.”
Wayne, sensing her determination, offered his support but suggested she check in with Morgan’s
family.
Emma agreed, knowing the impact this situation had on Morgan as well. With a plan forming in her
mind, she prepared to navigate the storm with cunning and resolve.
