CHAPTER THIRTY FIVE
“Yes, you may leave now, I do not need you here anyway. Just get out!” he said, and I walked out of his room and closed the door behind me as fast as I could without hesitating.
When I got out of Mr. Gavriel’s room, after thinking about leaving him like that, I came to the conclusion that it was not a good idea and maybe he just wanted to test me to see my reaction, and I was already feeling sleepy.
“I think I should just help him out and go to bed after that,” I said to myself as I rubbed my hands together before knocking at the door again and waiting for a response.
When I did not get a response, I decided to keep on knocking, and after what seemed to be ten minutes or so, I heard him respond.
“Come in,” Mr. Gavriel said, and I opened the door and walked in slowly in fear as my heartbeat was sounding so close to my ears.
“Christina, I told you to get out, and you are still here… What the hell do you want from me?” Mr. Gavriel asked as he shouted at the same time, and when I looked at his face, I could see that he was in pain.
Then I rushed to him and kneeled in front of him.
“I am so sorry if I am bothering you right now, but I cannot leave you like this. In as much as you are my boss, I still have a human conscience, so please let me handle this,” I pleaded as I clasped my hands together.
Mr. Gavriel did not say a word, all he did was make a scornful expression, and then he nodded.
“Make sure to be fast and not to add more pain,” he added.
“Yes, sir, I will be fast,” I said quickly as I took the methylated spirit from him along with the cotton wool.
Then I kept them aside and took a clean piece of cotton wool and poured not too much quantity of methylated spirit on it as I carefully cleaned the spot where the injury was located, and all I heard was a series of heartbreaking grunts, and I quickly withdrew my hand.
“What is the problem?” Mr. Gavriel asked me as he noticed that I quickly withdrew my hands from him.
“I am sorry, I think I am hurting you,” I replied, so scared that I could not look at him, I knew he was going to shout at me.
“What have I put myself into?” I whispered to myself.
“Do not worry about it, after all, it does not hurt much. I am a man, so I can bear it,” Mr. Gavriel replied, but I knew it was a pure lie, he did not want to possibly accept that it was hurting him because of his ego.
“You can continue,” he added calmly as he wondered what kind of courage this young lady squatting in front of him had to come back when he asked her not to, she seems to be fearless, but she knows nothing.
He had to accept the fact that she was caring, but he needed to deal with her because of that huge embarrassment she gave him at the bar.
“Ok sir,” I replied as I continued cleaning up the injury, but I could sense he was so restless, even though he tried his possible best not to make an audible sound.
“Mr. Gavriel,” I called him.
“I have a request,” I added as I got up from my squatting position.
“Ok, go on, but make sure it is not something stupid, otherwise, get ready to be sacked,” Mr. Gavriel replied as he rested his head on the armrest of the couch.
Is he threatening me or what? Here I am feeling so tired, dizzy, and sleepy, but I want to help him out as a good secretary and housekeeper, and he is here acting like the grumpy boss he is.
“To hell with you and your threats, I really do not care about them after all, I am just here to help you,” I said to myself.
“What did you just say?” Mr. Gavriel asked because he was sure he heard her say something but she was not audible.
“No, Mr. Gavriel I did not say anything. Maybe you heard wrong.” I replied, so scared. I thought he heard what I said.
“Do not play games with me, I am sure I heard you utter those words,” Mr. Gavriel insisted.
“No, sir, I did not, I promise.” I lied, but anyway, I had my reasons.
I summoned enough courage that I took my hands in his and raised him. At first, I was scared, but I had to do it so I could get out of there and get enough sleep.
“What are you doing?” I heard Mr. Gavriel ask me as he forcefully took his hands out of mine.
“Please, Mr. Gavriel, I am not doing anything wrong, I just intend to make this easier,” I replied as I took his hands back and held his shoulders as I safely led him to his bed and helped him lay down as he faced upwards so I could get him treated quickly.
“You will see and get to understand that this isn’t going to get you killed, but on the other hand, it will help you out, I promise,” I said as I quickly walked back to the couch, carefully carried the treatment kit, and went back to Mr. Gavriel and dropped the kit beside him on his bed.
Then I picked another clean and fresh piece of cotton wool and added methylated spirit to it as I bent down facing Mr. Gavriel’s wounded spot.
“Please, you have to relax your muscles so it would not hurt you too much,” I said to Mr. Gavriel calmly and waited for a response before getting started.
“Okay, just make it fast,”NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.
