And The Daddy Is… The Infertile Guy?!

Chapter 65

Chapter 65

Can the reborn really cling to old flame?” With a slight tilt of his chin, Howard shot back the question with a touch of recklessness.

Caught off guard, Sanford replied, “Your wish is granted.” He supposed he owed it to the fact that Gwendolyn had taken such good care of Eve.

“Well, I won’t keep you then.” Howard left as soon as he achieved his goal.

Watching him go, Sanford dialed an overseas number, “If you’ve made your bed, you better lie in it. Howard’s life is over.”

Howard was resigned to a life of modest comfort and disability, his legs would never carry him back to the heights of power.

As for Waldo, it was probably a trap set by Bainbridge. Howard was desperate, without a choice.

Sanford hung up the phone, his thoughts drifting back to Gwendolyn with an uneasiness he couldn’t shake.

Unbeknownst to her, Gwendolyn was on somebody’s mind. She was busy attending to an acquainted patient.

“Name?” Her face was stern as she asked.

“Gemma.” Adorned with gold and brandishing a designer purse, Gemma’s face was a tapestry of complexities.

“Number 23, you’ll have to wait outside.” Getting an appointment with Aiken Yates was a feat, and patients came from far and wide.

Gemma had arrived early, even bribed a scalper, to secure the 23rd spot. From NôvelDrama.Org.

“Gwen, let me in now. I’ve got a gala to attend this afternoon,” Gemma demanded as if it was her due.

“Next, please.” Gwendolyn didn’t give her the time of day.

“You really hold a grudge, don’t you? I’m your mother,” Gemma’s face fell, “At the auction, you embarrassed Vivien enough, didn’t you? If Howard had won ‘Serene Harmony, she wouldn’t have faced Bainbridge’s wrath.”

Gwendolyn frowned, anger in her voice, “So, Howard deserved to be swindled out of thirty million, is that it?”

“I am your mother. Do I really need to wait in line to see a doctor? If it weren’t for the toll birthing you took on my body, I wouldn’t need to see one.”

“Go wait in line, or I’ll call security,” Gwendolyn said, unyielding, each word deliberate.

Gemma glared at her, “With that temper and your background, no one will love you? Without me, would you ever have the chance to marry Howard? Ungrateful wretch

With a stomp of her foot, she stormed out of the room.

Gwendolyn settled back into her seat, registering patients. Gemma’s appearance cast a shadow over her spirits.

As evening approached, it was finally Gemma’s turn. She scoffed upon seeing Gwendolyn. Alken began his diagnosis, with Gwendolyn assisting.

“Gemma, you’re not of the age to bear children easily. Trying to conceive at this stage will be challenging.”

Aiken gently urged her to abandon the thought.

Gemma was adamant, “I must have a child.”

Vivien was her stepdaughter and Gwendolyn… She needed her own son to secure her position as Mrs. Sawyer and inherit the Sawyer family fortune.

“We’ll do our best to treat you, but I can’t promise anything,” Aiken remembered Gwendolyn’s insight on infertility. Maybe she had a solution.

“Gwendolyn, check her pulse.”

“I don’t need her,” Gemma said with scorn, “Dr. Yates, what does an intern know? Don’t let

her ruin my health. Just prescribe me something, and I’ll follow the regimen.”

Gwendolyn’s eyes fell. She had felt Gemma’s pulse once during the auction.

There was a cure.

The wellness recipe left by Mr. White could optimize her condition in a short time.
