And The Daddy Is… The Infertile Guy?!

Chapter 30

Chapter 30

“Got a bit tipsy at the reunion.” Nathan said with a polite smile as he handed over the keys to Marina. “Now that I’ve dropped him off, I’ll be on my way.”

“Drive safe, Mr. Thomas!”

Marina watched Nathan drive off before she wheeled Howard into the master bedroom. Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

“Sir, I’ll go brew some hangover cure tea. Just keep an eye on Mrs. Chadwick for me, will you? She must be feeling terrible after all that liquor,” Marina said. With a click, the door closed behind her.

Howard looked down at the woman in his arms, who clung to him, babbling incoherently.

“It’s nice and cool” mumbled Gwendolyn, her eyes hazy as she instinctively snuggled closer to Howard, reminiscent of the chill she once faced stranded in the mountains.

“Mr. Chadwick,” she murmured with gratitude. “Thank you.”

“For what?” he asked, his voice cool and detached.

*For saving my grandma and giving me money. You’re the best patient I’ve ever had. I have a wish…” Her cheeks flushed a delicate pink and she looked as demure as a cat.

Howard brushed her tangled hair behind her ear with a husky voice. “Since you’re tipsy, I’ll achieve your wish for a moment. Gwendolyn, make your wish.”

“I… I want to open my clinic,” she confessed, immediately regretting her boldness as she clutched at Howard’s collar with a plaintive look. “Aladdin’s lamp, remind me again tomorrow.

I’ll forget!”

“I’ll make sure to remind you,” replied Howard.

She nodded off, half–asleep, “I’m thirsty.”

‘I’ll get you some water.” He gently placed Gwendolyn on the bed and wheeled himself to get a glass of warm water.

But Gwendolyn, restless, staggered to her feet and lunged toward him.

Crash!

The wheelchair toppled over, sending them both crashing to the floor, the glass of water spilling across Howard’s cheeks and chest.

Howard felt a twinge of pain in his back and a wave of dizziness. When he came to his senses, his cheek itched. Gwendolyn was on top of him, licking the droplets off his skin.

“Gwendolyn!”

She was acting insane!

“Gwendolyn. I’ve said before, You shouldn’t be doing this!” he grunted, pinned down and powerless.

“No, I want water.” Replying. She tilted her head, her lips finding the corner of his mouth, soft and insistent. Howard clenched his fists as she desperately sought moisture,

Defeated after a long struggle, he murmured, “You asked for this.”

With that, he took over, kissing her back fiercely and passionately, with a thirst that was both angry and vengeful.

It was tender yet ferocious.

Gwendolyn gasped for air, her eyes misty. She wanted to pull away, yet she was drawn deeper into a daze of confusion.

It felt like she was floating on a cloud, her vision blurry and unfocused.

Her buzzing phone vibrated on the carpet, relentless calls from someone named Scott. Howard, annoyed, stopped and lay there, pulling her closer as he grabbed the phone.

Scrolling through, he saw missed calls and sappy love messages from Scott.

Scott had no right to call her Gwen.

With a rush of impatience, Howard deleted Scott’s contact, blocked him, and turned off the phone, tossing it aside.

Looking down, Gwendolyn had fallen asleep in his arms, a deep and peaceful slumber.

He gritted his teeth, fighting the rising heat and a touch of embarrassment.

“Sir,” Marina entered with the hangover cure tea, pushing the door open. She took in the chaotic the intertwined couple on the floor, and her eyes sparkled with intense gossip and

delight.

“Oh my!”
