Alpha King’s Special Soulmate

EPISODE THIRTY-FOUR

THEME: Her savior

(Avery’s Point Of View)

I looked at the man when I heard him heave a sigh of relief. “I’m glad she is fine. Doctor Jenny, is it okay if I question her now?” The strange man asked.

The doctor turned her attention away from me towards the man. “Sure. It’s okay.” She answered.

“Alright. Thank you.” He mumbled.

The doctor bowed slightly before exiting the room. My nostrils caught a familiar scent and I stared at the man who folded his arms over his chest just simply staring at me. It can’t be. It can’t be right? It can’t be what I am thinking. Dark wood pack? I am stuck in a place I don’t know.

“Do you have anything to say to me before I start my questioning?” He demanded in a stern tone.

“Who.. are.. you?” I asked not breaking our eye contact. I wanted to know this man just to confirm what my wolf just told me.

“I guess you don’t have much to say to me.” His hands dropped to his side and he walked to the window. He pulled the curtains revealing the dark clouds. “I am alpha Riley of Dark Wood Pack.” He spoke up after some moment of silence.

This man is an alpha! A confirmation of what my wolf had whispered to me. I had sniffed his scent and the smell of his blood was so strong in my nostrils. The way he spoke to the nurse, how she had been polite and the final bow says it all. His big frame, the aura of authority that hovered around him. His domineering attitude could be seen from the way he was standing, his graceful strides as he walked back to the bed. These are the traits of an egocentric alpha. And this man was a perfect definitely of it.

“What’s your name?” He asked.

“My name is–” I stopped to think but nothing occurred to me.

Alpha Riley waited for my response. “Your name is?” He said for me to fill in my name.

“I don’t.. know.. my.. name.” I replied.

Alpha Riley raised his eyebrows. “You crossed my territory. You are a native of which pack?” He asked.

I tried to think again but my head was as blank as a piece of white paper.

“I.. am.. am.. a native of–” I paused my lips. I was confused. I had no idea of the answers to the questions he was asking me.

“I don’t know.” I mumbled.

I noticed the angry look that crossed his face. “Are you trying to make a fool out of me?!” He demanded.

“No.. no.. I–”

Alpha Riley bend over with his hands at the edge of the bed. “I know you are a wolf. And you must know it is against the rules to cross a pack territory illegally.” He grimaced.

Yes, I know the rules at least. It is wrong to cross a pack’s territory illegally. For a split second, it looked like I was about to remember something but it faded too quickly. I closed my eyes at the pain I felt for trying to force myself to remember it.

“I will ask you one last time. What’s your name?” Alpha Riley asked again.

I didn’t want to open my eyes so I wouldn’t see the anger in his expression. How did I get to this pack? I wondered.

“Tell me the name of the alpha of your pack so he can take on the responsibility. Mate. Do you have one? If you do then try connecting to him.” Alpha Riley said in a low tone but the annoyance was still there.

Mate? Do I have one? I doubt it. My inside seems void and blank with no strong connections except for the one I share with my wolf. There was no answers to these questions too in my head.

“How did you find me?” I reopened my eyes slowly. I think this question would help me solve the puzzle.

His face was close to mine as he looked straight into my eyes. “You don’t know that too?” Alpha Riley scrunched up his face.

“I can’t remember anything. I don’t know why my head is so blank.” I replied.

Alpha Riley leaned up and ran his hand through his hair. “Damn it.” He uttered a profanity. He must be feeling frustrated too.

“I am not a rogue.” I said.

Alpha Riley shook his head. “I know a rogue when I see one.”

“So tell me how I ended up in your pack.” I requested.

Alpha Riley searched my face to see if I was being honest or trying to trick him. Well I don’t blame him. As an alpha, the pack comes first and it is his responsibilities to look after his pack. He has to be careful and cautious of intruders that can wreck havoc or cause any form of trouble to his pack.

“I went swimming in the largest body of water in this pack. And all of a sudden I heard a splash in the water. I smelled a wolf scent around so I searched a part of the area where it sounded but I couldn’t find you. I would have ignored it but it was hard. I came back to the pack to get the best divers and they all went underwater and they found your body after some hours. You looked pretty awful when I brought you to the pack.” Alpha Riley stopped.

“How did you end up in the water?” He asked.

I was surprised by the revelation of how I got to this pack. “I have no idea.” I answered.

“There is a cliff far ahead but no one has ever reached that area because it’s impossible to climb that height even as wolf.” Alpha Riley added.

“I don’t know. I can’t tell you how I ended up in the water.” Tears clouded my vision as I couldn’t even dare try to remember anything because of the pain.

“Have you lost your memory due to the fall?” Alpha Riley asked with concern in his tone.Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.

Lost my memory? I hope that’s not the case. No! I can’t lose my memory! I have to know who I am. I don’t want to stay in the dark. I don’t want to ever be stuck enduring this pain as I try to remember something about my life.

“What do I do?” I heard myself say in a tight whisper. “There must be a solution. I can’t lose my memories. No.. this can’t be happening to me.” I cried out.

“Hey.. relax.” Alpha Riley reached for my wrist and locked our hands.

One would doubt if he was the same angry man who wanted to know why I had crossed his territory.

“How can I relax? I don’t even know my name.” I couldn’t control my tears.

“It could be that you were hunting and didn’t know about the edge of the cliff.” Alpha Riley said in a calm tone.

“What do I do?” I sobbed.

“It’s alright. I’ll work on finding your pack. I’ll send out my men to do a background check. Don’t worry you’ll be fine.” Alpha Riley reassured me until I calm down.

“You should get some rest.” Alpha Riley removed strands of hair from my face as he also wipe my tears. This man right her saved my life. If he wasn’t by the water at that time I would have died.

“I’ll talk to doctor Jenny.” He said.

And very slowly I fell asleep while he was trying to comfort me. My wolf seemed broken but she embraced whatever comfort this total stranger was offering to me.
