At the hospital
Thalia’s piercing gaze locked onto him in a deafening silence.
In that decisive moment, Alpha Kilian, the commanding Alpha, approached Nelly’s room with a stealthy stride.
“Are you here as her protector or as her executioner?” Thalia’s voice erupted, breaking the stillness in the air.
Caught off guard, Alpha Kilian halted in his tracks, his puzzled eyes meeting Thalia’s unwavering stare.
“It’s truly you, Alpha Kilian Morris,” she declared, discarding any lingering hesitation as she lunged towards him, determined to strike.
And so, the clash between Thalia and Alpha Kilian ignited within the corridor, their bodies swiftly locked in a fierce battle.
Dodging skillfully and refusing to strike back, Alpha Kilian matched Thalia’s actions with calculated precision.
Their fight raged on, each moment ticked away, until eventually, he subdued her. “Do you truly know who I am?” he questioned.
“Of course, and it goes beyond just knowledge,” Thalia sneered, launching herself at him once again.
While doubts persisted within Alpha Kilian, he recognized Thalia’s true purpose. She sought to safeguard Nelly, not to harm her.
“Are you underestimating me, Alpha Kilian? Do you believe I’ll let you off the hook just because you refuse to retaliate?” Thalia demanded.
“Are you truly here to protect her?” he inquired.
“And if I am?” she retorted, answering his question with another.
That was when he straightened his attire, a smile playing on his lips. “What a coincidence. So am I.”
Thalia halted her impending punch. “What?”
Alpha Kilian observed her intently, curiosity evident in his eyes. “Have you ever seen someone with malicious intent behave so openly?”
His words ignited a rush of thoughts within Thalia’s mind. She silently agreed with him, though reluctant to admit he was correct. “What if all of this is just an act?”
His smile widened. “If I truly intended to harm her, do you truly believe I would personally carry out such an act?”
Thalia found herself swayed by the logic in Alpha Kilian’s words, nodding in agreement. “You have a point.”
“Who are you? Why have I never laid eyes upon you before?” he pressed, the lingering mystery gnawing at him.
“It’s only natural that you’d never seen me,” Thalia replied, refusing to disclose her name.
“You are no ordinary nurse,” his voice resonated with certainty.Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
“Indeed. Have you ever encountered a nurse as striking as me?” she retorted, rolling her eyes. As she observed his adeptness in combat, she speculated on the reason behind the numerous futile attempts on his life.
Alpha Kilian was momentarily speechless.
In that very moment, the door to Nelly’s ward swung open, the commotion drawing her attention.
Stepping out, Nelly’s gaze swept across the individuals before her, her eyes lingering on Alpha Kilian. “Alpha Kilian?”
But then, those eyes found Thalia, her face concealed instinctively.
Thalia studied the interaction between Alpha Kilian and Nelly, keeping her distance once ensuring they recognized one another. With a hurried departure, she left them with a parting remark, “Until we meet again, Alpha Kilian Morris.”
Even in her haste, Nelly stole a brief glimpse of Thalia’s face, causing her brows to furrow.
As Thalia disappeared from sight, Nelly turned to Alpha Kilian. “So, you’re seducing nurses in the hospital now?”
Caught off guard, Alpha Kilian struggled to find the right words.
Taking a step closer, he halted her, explaining, “She believed I was a threat to you.”
Nelly’s gaze met his. “You don’t owe me any explanations, really.”
“I’m not explaining. I’m asking if you know who she is,” he inquired.
“How would I know?” Nelly replied dismissively.
“She was here to protect you!” Alpha Kilian emphasized.
Nelly, no fool herself, recognized Thalia as the “kind lady” who had accompanied Tony previously, concluding that Tony must have sent her.
Yet, Nelly withheld this information from Alpha Kilian. “Protect me? That’s highly unlikely.”
“You don’t know her?”
She shook her head firmly. “No.”
His brows furrowed.
“If I had known her, I would have invited her into the room instead of letting you two… fight outside,” Nelly subtly stated, a suggestive tone lacing her words.
Alpha Kilian’s brows knitted together, sensing something amiss in her response. However, he couldn’t discern any fault in her words.
Nevertheless, Thalia’s every move had been ruthless. It was evident she possessed formidable training. Alpha Kilian contemplated investigating her background, but his primary concern remained discovering the identity of the true threat to Nelly.
Sensing his silence, Nelly voiced a question, “Why are you here?”
“Donna was concerned about you, so she asked me to check on you,” he replied.
“You’ve checked on me. You can leave now. I’m fine,” she dismissed casually.
Alpha Kilian approached her purposefully. “Are you oblivious to the danger you’re in? Even that woman out there, whoever she may be, knows you’re in peril. Don’t tell me you’re blind to the truth?”
Examining his serious expression, Nelly refrained from dwelling on the subject, redirecting the conversation. “So, have you taken Donna and Ben’s DNA samples? When will we have the results?”
Alpha Kilian’s brows furrowed. “Who do you think I am?”
“Don’t you want to know the truth?” Nelly queried.
“Is it necessary to conduct a DNA test? Isn’t it clear?” he questioned, his patience wearing thin.
Raising her brows, Nelly challenged him. “What’s the matter? Are you finally convinced they’re not your children?”
Silence enveloped Alpha Kilian, her words never failing to ignite his fury.
In that moment, he grasped her hand, his voice laced with determination. “Nelly, regardless of your words, Donna and Ben are my children!”
“Oh, such confidence,” Nelly remarked with a small smile. “Don’t waste your breath, Alpha Kilian. It’s futile.”
Nelly’s lack of response only fueled his frustration.
Suddenly, Alpha Kilian advanced on her, catching her off guard. She fell backward onto the bed, instinctively grabbing his collar, which unintentionally pulled him on top of her.
They lay entangled in an intimate embrace, their bodies pressed closely together.
