Chapter 61
Chapter 61 Congratulations
Quentin glanced at her impassively and continued to raise the bid.
Leah also followed suit, and in just a few minutes, the earrings were bid up to over a million dollars, far exceeding their original value.
"Miss Wilson, Quentin works hard for his money. Can you please stop?" Sharon frowned, seeming to disagree with Leah's behavior. She then looked at Quentin.
"Quentin, although I really like these earrings, I don't want you to spend so much money on me. How about we forget it?" she said.
Quentin remained unperturbed. "It's not much money. It's fine."
Sharon wanted to say more, but then she heard Maria's voice, filled with envy.
"Sharon, Mr. Worthington earns hundreds of millions of dollars effortlessly. How could he be short of money? Besides, the fact that he's willing to spend a fortune to get something you like shows that he truly loves you. He cherishes you a lot, which he doesn't toward a certain someone."
After saying that, she cast a disdainful glance in Leah's direction, clearly showing off.
"Maria, please don't say that." Sharon blushed and glanced in Quentin's direction but noticed Quentin's gaze was fixed on Leah. Despite her shyness, she also felt a momentary unease and tugged at Quentin's
arm.
"Quentin?"
Quentin pulled his gaze away discreetly. "What's wrong?"
"It's nothing." Sharon shook her head but didn't feel entirely at ease.
"Perhaps even Quentin himself didn't realize that his gaze always followed Leah...
He used to dislike Leah so much to the point of not even wanting to return home.
Why had things changed now?" she thought.
While Sharon pondered, Quentin and Leah continued bidding.
When the price reached 2.5 million dollars, Leah stopped bidding.
"2.5 million dollars once, 2.5 million dollars twice, 2.5 million dollars thrice. All right, this pair of earrings is sold for 2.5 million dollars. Congratulations to Mr. Worthington from the Worthington Group."
Leah turned slightly and wore a mocking smile on her lips.
"2.5 million dollars, Quentin. Congratulations on spending so much on something that won't even belong to you, you idiot."
Quentin looked sullen, and his tone flat without any fluctuations as he spoke next.
"Leah, do you think that by
deliberately raising the price, you
can get to me and make me uncomfortable? Actually, this amount of money means nothing to me. Unfortunately, your efforts to provoke and annoy me have had no effect whatsoever."
"I have no interest in knowing whether you're uncomfortable or not. I just did something that makes me happy. You're being too self-conscious." Pouting, she thought to herself, "You are

unperturbed because you have no
idea that all this money is going into
her pocket. If you knew, you
probably wouldn't be so calm."
"Quentin, you spent so much money on me that I feel embarrassed. I don't know how to repay you." Sharon pretended to be shy, her gaze softening as she looked at Quentin. Quentin, for some reason, found Sharon's voice a bit unpleasant and frowned in annoyance.
"Don't mention it. It's just a small amount of money."
Maria gave Sharon a teasing wink. "Sharon, Quentin has done so much for you. Repaying him is simple, isn't it?"
