Branch One Hundred and Thirty Six
Alicia had received a message from Jessica where she assured her that Dawson was alright. She did not need to go there anymore.
Jason suggested a date since he was flying back the very next day. The only reason he came was because of Xavier’s birthday and Alicia.
Alicia agreed because it was an opportunity for her to spend with Jason. Ever since they became a couple they had never been on an official date and although Alicia had said out loud that she did not mind it did bug her a bit.
She had barely been in a relationship and the longest her relationship lasted was a month. She knew she was serious about Jason and that she wanted to be with him but the fact that she had to be in a long distance relationship for her first serious relationship did bother her.
She thought of so many possibilities. If Jason were to ask her to marry him, was she to leave everything she had worked on and follow him just to be his wife?
She lived with him and that was one thing she could not deny but the fact of leaving her career and every single thing she worked so hard to get behind to become a wife and probably a mother was too far fetched for her.
She wanted to discuss these things with him but felt it was still too early in the relationship for them to do so. Jason may even think that she was jumping the gun and worrying herself.
What if he did not even see a future together? What if he just liked her at the moment? She took a deep breath as she tried to finish up her make up.
Jason had returned to the hotel he lodged while she went home. They were to meet after a brief rest and freshening up so they could have their date.
“Ma’am you have a call,” Evelyn said bringing her phone close to her.
She glanced at the name tag of the caller and it was Jason. She nodded and Evelyn understood what she needed to do. She picked it up and put it on loud speaker. She dropped it to the vanity table and then bowed before excusing herself.
“Babe” Jason said as the call connected.
“Baby” she responded.
The both of them did not hold back in showing their love to each other. It seemed like they had been starved of this love for a long time and now they were finally receiving it.
“Are you ready? I want to come pick you up”
“Oh don’t worry just stay where ever you are. My driver would pick us up”
Jason sighed. He liked her so much but sometimes hated how independent she was. She barely depended on him for everything.
“The man should be the one to pick the woman up,” Jason said trying to steady himself.
“What kind of old rule is that?” she asked with a small laugh.
“It will mean a lot to me if I am the one to pick you up”
She thought for a while before she nodded to herself.
“Okay then I’m just adding the finishing touches to my makeup, you can come to pick me up”
“What do you think of the restaurant I picked?” Jason asked.
He was frequent at Chiachester City so he knew all the cool places but he wanted to really impress Alicia.
“You really know these things, could it be because you were once a Playboy?” she asked taking the spoon to her mouth
“Why would you say something like that and hurt my feelings?” Jason asked with a smirk.
“Well, you don’t stay in Chiachester and you are still the biggest playboy here. Or you were. I’m guessing you no longer do things like that”
“Of course I don’t. I now devote my entire life to you” he said and she felt herself blush. She cleared her throat and looked around.
“Your entire life?”
“Yes my entire life”
Alicia laughed and bowed her head. How could one not blush? She now saw why girls always fell for him. It was like he had a natural knack for saying the right things.
She found out that all their virtual dates always left her with smiles and dreams of being with him. The fear she had earlier resurfaced. They were having a good time and she did not want to ruin it but her mind bugged her so much she wanted to know.
“Have you ever thought about settling down?” she asked. If she were to know there was no way she would ask him directly.
“With you? Sure” he said as if it was the normal answer.
Alicia choked and his hand immediately went to the cup in her front and he gave it to her. She collected try cup from his hand while giving him a side glance.
“Thank you” she murmured as she put it to her mouth and took a sip.
“You have always been my dream. I always wanted to settle down with you and build a family,” he told her. “Lots of children” he added in a whisper.
Alicia shifted in her seat and gave a half-hearted smile. “Always?”
“Yes, when I first got to know you I was not good enough for you so I gave up. That’s why I tried my best to become someone worthy of you. I worked countless nights and turned myself into a workaholic.
I had to give up because I heard you were in a relationship at a point and I was almost led to depression. Becoming a playboy was born out of the need to be with you”Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
Alicia gulped hard and took a sip of her water again.
“I am so glad I took courage and asked you out the last time I was here else I would still be regretting it by now,” he said before filling his mouth with meat from the lobster.
“So that assured I’ll ask you to spend eternity with me soon”
“We haven’t been dating for that long,” Alicia said.
“Does the length matter? We can keep dating when we get married” he replied with a wink.
“If you ask me to marry you, I don’t think I can move”
