Chapter 1359
Thanks to Everett's backing, Trust-E suddenly became a household name in Eldorria City as a go-to investment firm.
Dorothy, watching the throng of media reporters waiting for her on the ground floor of the company, couldn't help but find the situation amusing yet overwhelming.
To an outsider, she might as well have been a Hollywood star...
"Ms. Sanchez! When are you and Mr. Everett Lopez, the CEO of the Lopez Corporation, getting hitched?"
"We've heard Mr. Lopez was previously married. Are you aware, Ms. Sanchez? Does it bother you?"
"How did you and Mr. Lopez meet? Did he start this company for you? Please, share with us!"
Unaccustomed to being in the limelight, Dorothy felt quite out of her depth.
Luckily, Kevin was there today to lend a hand. He stepped forward, shielding Dorothy from the aggressive journalists, "Ms. Sanchez won't be taking any questions today! Please, everyone, let's call it a day!" He escorted Dorothy, aiming to get her to the elevator and away from the frenzy.
The plan was to escape the chaos by heading upstairs.
Instinctively, Dorothy followed Kevin's lead.
Suddenly, a voice from the crowd rang out, "Ms. Sanchez, why can't you answer these questions? Is it because you're the other woman in Mr. Lopez's previous marriage? A homewrecker?"
Kevin's face darkened as he turned to confront the source, "And you are with which outlet?!"
"I'm just asking questions here, hoping Ms. Sanchez might shed some light! If there's nothing to hide, why avoid us?"
"Because you didn't schedule an appointment, you weren't formally invited! You have no right to demand answers!" Kevin looked ready to take the confrontation further.
Then, Dorothy tugged at his sleeve-
He looked back at her, catching her reassuring glance.
"It's okay, I'll handle this."
"Ms. Sanchez, you don't have to entertain this," Kevin assured her, well-versed in deflecting the press from his experience with Everett.
Dorothy, however, smiled and turned to face the reporter.
"I'm not sure which media you
represent, but before expecting an answer from me, maybe reflect on your question and its intent," her voice was calm but firm, "Because I do not entertain malice."
The reporter was visibly taken aback by Dorothy's composure and strength.
Dorothy cleared her throat and addressed the crowd with seriousness and sincerity.
"Firstly, yes, Everett has been married before, but there's no need for concern or speculation about my role. I'm not 'the other woman'-his ex-wife is me."
The reporters were stunned this was the first time they were getting such direct information about Everett.
Securing an interview with anyone from the Lopez Corporation was notoriously difficult.
To quell further rumors, Dorothy openly shared, "Everett has never been romantically involved with anyone else during or after our marriage. It's always been just me." Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
"As for this company, Trust-E is indeed my own venture. However, as my partner, Everett has been a
tremendous support. It would bonet
unfair to diminish his contributions just because I want to prove my capabilities."
Her responses were articulate and devoid of any sarcasm, remarkably forthright instead.
The reporters, finding no angle to further probe, fell silent.
After her statement, Dorothy slightly bowed with a smile, "Thank you all for your interest in Everett and me. Now, please, let's call it a day." Kevin, impressed, discreetly gave her a thumbs-up.
