Chapter 105
Jesse looked up at her and said, “I just find it too noisy.”
“…” Nydia thought to herself that he was saying one thing but meaning another.
If she hadn’t been reborn and didn’t know about his feelings for her, she would have thought that he disliked her.
But she knew that he was just difficult and that she had rejected him too many times in the past, to the point where he no longer expressed his feelings.
“Little Jesse, did your teachers ever say when you were in school that parents are the best teachers for children, and that they should lead by example?”
Before Jesse could answer, Nydia continued, “If Molly and Tavish get sick in the future, should we tell them not to cough or sneeze too loudly because it’s too noisy and not to have a runny nose because it’s dirty?”
“…” Jesse just lay down, pulled up the covers, and closed his eyes, ignoring her.
Nydia almost laughed. She found Jesse, who was sick, very cute, like a fluffy little puppy that she wanted to pet, but was too proud to allow it.
She turned off the desk lamp. The intermittent sound of coughing filled the darkness, but she didn’t find it noisy. She just gently stroked Jesse’s back.
She couldn’t sleep for a while, as Jesse’s stuffy nose and coughing made it impossible for him to fall asleep.
“Hey, Jesse, do you know that there’s a difficult process for getting over a cold, but there’s a quick way to get better? Do you know what it is?” Nydia’s soft and cheerful voice washed over his heavy mind like a mountain spring.
He listened but didn’t say anything.
“It’s…” She turned his body over so that he lay flat on his back.
Before he could react, Nydia suddenly leaned in and kissed his lips. He stared at her in surprise.
But she licked him lightly, and the kiss seemed to calm him down.
It was fleeting, but she still wanted more.
She spoke with a charming smile, her voice clear and full of joy, like a mischievous little cat sneaking around.
“It’s just passing a cold to someone else.” She leaned in close to him, breathing softly into his ear, “That way you’ll get better.”
His ears instantly turned flushing.
This flush of red was like a sudden burst of fire, spreading throughout his body.
He reacted suddenly, his eyes turning red, and with a burst of strength from who knows where, he rolled over and pinned down the naughty little cat.
It was like a storm, like a volcano erupting.
He didn’t know if the heat from his body was caused by a fever or his feelings.
But a trace of sanity remained, and the two of them stopped together in a rare moment of agreement, both breathing heavily with accelerated heartbeats.
Jesse held her without moving, and she didn’t dare move either, not wanting to further provoke Jesse.
She swallowed her saliva, feeling doubtful: so, Jesse wasn’t up for it?
But she couldn’t jump to conclusions like that. Perhaps…
As she was lost in thought, Jesse had already rolled over and covered himself with the blanket, and with his weight lifted, she couldn’t resist teasing him again. After all, opportunities like this were rare, and once the cold was gone, she wouldn’t be able to have as much fun.
“So, have you discovered that kissing can cure coughs?” She laughed lightly.
“…” Who was still thinking about coughing?
He pulled the blanket over himself, covering his whole body, including his head.
This action made Nydia both cry and laugh. She really didn’t expect that even when Jesse was sick, he would still act cute unintentionally.
“Hey, breathing will be more difficult if you cover yourself like that, and it will only make you feel worse.” She reached out and poked his waist through the blanket.
He suddenly threw off the blanket and turned to face her, his eyes like a starving wolf staring at her, “Try touching me again?” His voice was hoarse, like the low growl of a wild wolf.Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
